The Sony Camera was introduced to me as a last resort by the sales associate. It's the best camera on the market under $1000.00

This is a great beginner camera its very easy to use. All of the modes that its set to ill give you a small description of what is ideal to use it for. i dont use the in camera flash but it is bright for such a small device. the sd card door is located with the battery underneath the body and needs to be locked/unlocked every-time which i dont like. The price is fair considering it doesnt shoot 4k video and doesnt have all the bells and whitles

I bought this as my first interchangeable lens camera. I've used/handled Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras and I prefer the A6000 to them because the Sony interface is intuitive and I like the layout of the buttons and viewfinder. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the camera. It's light, easy to use, and has plenty of features for anyone beginning in photography.

I loved many features of this camera--its size and weight, the ease of changing lenses, the ability to shoot in RAW, and the many many options its menu offers. It's wireless features were great, too. The instructions were easy to follow. I found that the photos did not have the sharpness or clarity I had hoped for, so I returned the camera and will have to spend the money for a professional level camera. I think the price for this camera was fair and that many users would really enjoy it.

I bought this camera as an open box item. I couldn't be happier. The lens that came in the box is good but if you invest in different lenses you won't be disappointed.

I bought the A6000 just a few days ago, and let me start off by saying this thing is amazing. It has completely changed my whole perspective on photography and videography. I was really stuck between a rock and a hard place deciding on whether I wanted this model and lens kit or the a6000 that comes with the 16-50mm and 55-210mm lenses; they are both great options, but I'll mainly be using this to record Youtube videos in my apartment so the 16-50mm lens will do; at least until I decide on buying new lenses ;) Image Quality: 8.5/10 For a $500 camera, I must say this thing can really hold it's own. I've found that the 16-50mm lens looks best when adjusted to 20mm and set about 4 feet away from the target; at least for my setup, that is. Overall Rating: 8/10 I know there are better options out there, but one thing that makes this camera stand out to me is its ability to auto-focus so effortlessly. It's amazing. I've only used this camera with the 16-50mm lens, so I've only experienced a small piece of what makes this camera a great starting point, but I'm excited for what the future holds.

A great little camera. For a lifetime Canon user, it required a little research and just playing with the menus. But it's an awesome tool to have in your camera bag.

I was looking for a replacement camera for my Canon that unfortunately fell in Switzerland. I was not very familiar with mirrorless technology, but after doing some research I went with this camera. I love the silver finish as it adds a touch of class to the camera. So far I have shot videos, taken pictures, and everything is as expected. Easy to DL media to macbook.

I've used this camera on 300+ shoots. It's super-reliable with an excellent autofocus feature and very handy options. However, there are a few nitpicks I have: 1. Not a full frame camera. The price gap between this and Sony's full frame option was pretty steep at the time I purchased the a6000. If I could do it again, I'd have shelled out a little more. 2. Low light. In darker venues, the pictures come out grainy. Capture One Pro helps immensely to correct this, but sometimes it's hard to get a good exposure-to-clarity compromise when shooting. 3. I've had a couple instances where the filing system suddenly crams in meaningless data and fills the memory card (Sandisk Ultra Plus 64GB). Formatting the memory card fixes the issue, but it's not something you want to deal with in the middle of a gig. Other than those little gripes, it's been an excellent camera.

out of the box, this sleek camera comes fully loaded. Just add a memory card (sold separately) and you are good to go! Simple and easy directions for a multifunctional camera. The pictures look amazing, and you can even send pictures straight to your pc or phone (via WiFi). Hands down best camera purchase ever!

Unfortunately I have a bad habit of buying cameras. I currently own the following cameras: Fuji XT1, Canon 6D, Canon 7D, Olympus EM-5, Sony RX100ii and now this Sony A6000. I really purchased this to replace the RX100ii as a travel, throw in your pocket, shoot at parties camera. I'll just cut to the chase, the A6000 excels at those tasks. Auto focus is really fast and the auto focus point selection is by far the best of any camera I own. There are lots of complaints about the kit lens that comes with this camera but I think it's fine. It's not as sharp as my Canon L series lenses, but it is every bit as sharp as my Fuji 18-55mm kit lens. A benefit of this lens is that its small and it enables the camera and lens to be easily carried in a jacket pocket. Image quality is outstanding. The colors are great and the dynamic range is pretty good too. The dynamic range isn't quite up to the my Fuji XT1 or Canon 6D. The only downside of image quality is noise at ISOs above 1600. Yes you can shoot this at ISOs up to 6400 IF you nail the exposure. But if you don't and need to do a lot of exposure correction in post processing, you will see a good amount of noise. The noise cleans up with any of the post processing noise reduction tools. Overall this is an excellent camera.
