I wanted a Sony mirrorless camera for a while as I was tired of the big DSLR I currently have. I didn't plan on buying one, but when I looked at one in the store and since the bundle was on sale, I went ahead and purchased it. I'm sure happy I did. What a great camera this has been so far. It's light, easy to use, but takes images with same or better quality than my DSLR and is much easier to carry around. If you are looking for a new camera, I can't recommend this one enough.

I really like my Sony Alpha 6000! I bought it to hike the Grand Canyon. Quality pictures for such a compact and light camera. Although, when you also carry the 55-210mm zoom, your bag does get heavy. My criticism is that the flash is completely manual and extremely fragile looking. Perhaps add an external flash? More weight in my bag! That being said, on auto setting it seamlessly adjusts from macro to landscape and such without changing a setting. Love that feature while still being able to control my photos when wanted and carry it in my purse!

I've never owned a DSLR or a mirrorless camera before so I'm still learning the ins and outs of it but I will say that even on auto mode the camera takes excellent quality photos. It is pretty user friendly and I like that it is lightweight (compared to the DSLRs). One thing that I feel like could be improved is the wireless capability. The instructions provided with the camera are incomplete and I thought my camera was broken because I couldn't get it to work. I eventually figured it out with some googling. After I got it working I discovered that it is cumbersome to transfer pics to my phone and I haven't tried to wirelessly transfer them to my computer.

I’ve been using the Sony Alpha a6000 as a video cam for streaming, and it works great. Solid quality, easy to use, and a good value overall.

This is hands down the best Camera for the price. Move over DSLR you are now becoming obsolete theres a new Camera in the industry giving you a run for your money. Smaller body, light weight and a faster shutter speed make this camera a go to. not to mention the outstanding color production on this camera. It makes any picture look like it was taken professionally.

I'm an amateur photographer who just takes pictures of his friends and family when on vacation and stuff. This camera is perfect for that. Its light, compact and speedy. It's got all the fancy controls that a DSLR has but in a much smaller and more compact design. The only thing is your photos will be cropped, but it doesn't really matter much to the amateur photographer. My friend how is a professional photographer takes headshots with this camera! He recommended it to me and now I'm recommending it to anyone who's looking for a new camera!

I'm not a pro photographer, but use this camera now along with some new equipment, and this has turned out to be great. I am sure it takes better pictures than I am capable of, but everything comes out great and some of the auto modes make it so easy to use I can't really complain about it. I really love the size of it and there is a lot of other lenses to choose from if I change the style just like the other DSLR's. I find the software and connection to my computer easier and more seamless with these over Wifi than when I used to use my Nikon

First I must say this is my first DSLR camera so I do not have much experience with them and I am a novice when it comes to photography. I purchased this camera mainly to take action photo's of my daughter's playing sports. It takes great pictures and is very easy to use. It has features that will allow me to grow into the camera. I especially like that it takes up to 10 FPS. It is fairly compact and light and is easy to carry around. I carried it around Disney World all day without it bothering me. Overall, I love this camera.

I was sceptical about the quality of the camera at first. Now that I've been using it I couldn't be happier. It's a great hybrid between a SLR and a point and shoot camera. Small enough for travel but all the quality and settings of a SLR. I'm most impressed by the speed. Which makes it my go to camera for traveling and adventure. It's perfect for catching those spontaneous moments and quickly moving kids.

This camera is lightweight, loaded with cool features and has very positive reviews across the internet. However, it doesn't come with any type of guide from Sony. There is a website to help you navigate the features but I still need to learn why to choose one particular setting over another and not just how to select it. Still I wouldn't have bought a less complicated camera, because as I learn how to use this camera (waiting for my book to arrive from Amazon today), I want to have all this camera can do available.

Came off a Nikon DSLR and this Sony is way smaller and lighter. Super fast focus and crisp pictures. Love the unit. Will now look to upgrade lens that came with unit since it's just been okay for my first foray into mirrorless. Buy it!! $400 cheaper than A6300, which has 4K recording and faster focus. I'd probably still go with this unit.

The camera body is well built. The lens kit is very compact compared to my 1st generation NEX. This camera is good for an amateur photographer and the intelligent is very good for beginner. The camera itself is trying to capture the best shot for you. It can automatically crop images to achieve composition. However, what made me disappointed about the camera is that it overheats when capturing video more than 5 minutes. The built-in WIFI made it convenient to transfer images to cellular phone. For Apple device, you need to download the Sony application from the store first to transfer images to the phone. I am not sure whether or not i can fully recommend the camera if this is problem is persistent though. I wish I read the review thoroughly before .

My husband and I purchased this camera about a month ago.So far we are very happy with it. We bought the telephoto lens together with the camera as it offered extra savings. The images are very clear and sharp. It is great to have the telephoto for greater closeups. The camera is light and it is easy to hold. The battery life is relatively short. You must always remember to turn it to OFF as it does not do this automatically as some cameras do. We are still experimenting with all the features.

Since I never received a survey after my in store purchase, I want to personally thank Kevin (customer service pin 0469 030 7477 060516). He was very helpful in walking me through some of the features on the Sony Alpha A6000 camera I purchased from the Best Buy in Staten Island (Richmond Ave) store. Specifically, setting up the shoulder strap on my camera as well as providing me the app I needed to download, to transfer images from the camera to my cell phone. These types of services still make electronic stores more personal, user friendly and cannot be replicated with an online purchase. I am more than satisfied with the camera itself having only used it for one week. As an amateur in photography skills, the settings on the camera are reasonably simple. I look forward to learning more about the different modes to shoot in, especially raw. I like that I can add lenses to the camera in the future, to truly take advantage of the camera abilities. Thank You, Anthony

I have had this camera for about a month now. I have had time to experiment with it some and get to know it. I matched this up with the Sony 30MM macro and have had a lot of fun with it. There's so much to learn, I am hoping Best Buy has a class on this, luckily there's a book and youtube. I originally purchased this as a package deal with the two lenses, card and bag, it was a good deal. Now I just need a few more bucks for additional lenses.

This camera was recommended to me by a relative, who loves photography and electronics. I am extremely happy with how easy it is to use and the great quality of pictures that it produces. I use it primarily for facial plastic surgery before and after photos but can see how it can easily be used for family pictures and vacation. It is compact relative to other similar cameras and so easy to transport.

When I bought the Sony alpha 6000, I bought it as a backup for my big Nikons. However, the image quality, high speed focus, and smaller size has made it my camera of choice. Took it on an Alaskan cruise and have amazing shots of wild life and scenery that I am proud to share.

I did a lot of research before buying this camera. I was skeptical of Sony because of a bad laptop I got last year. I needed something that could stop motion in poor lighting and zoom clearly. I paired this with a 55-210mm f 4.5 lens and headed off to a big volleyball tournament the day after I bought it. I know nothing about photography and was concerned the camera would be too complex. The results speak for themselves. Within 2 days I had other parents asking me to photograph their kids. It really is very close to point and shoot but with DSLR results. The 12 fps burst rate is amazing. I never miss the action. The battery lasted me about 400-690 pictures before I plugged in. I transferred photos to my cell phone using PlayMemories and wireless. I then messaged them to my friends directly from the tournament. I did have an error or two where it said "Incorrect Battery" even though it was the battery that came with the rig #a Sony battery#. I discovered that if I am gripping it primarily from the right #leather grip# I get this error after a while. If I support it under the lens and take the pressure off the right grip, I don't get the error. It's pricey #for me# but worth every $$$. Sony, you hit a home run on this one.

Wanted to wait at least 1 year before reviewing: Absolutely 100% BEST crop sensor camera I’ve ever used, and I’ve had 4 different brands. The ease of use and solid quality inside and out, makes this a workhorse. For the money, I doubt you could do better. Yes there are cameras with more features but unless you’re already an established photographer, you won’t even miss them. This is an ABOVE basic camera and 50mm lens on it is

There too many to list in this review that I love about this camera. But with a few words, versatility, portability and reliability. stock lens are great even in low light conditions. My only complaint about this equipment is the battery. I recommend to buy a spare to have specially when using it on an all day event.
