Great Family Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned several professional cameras, but since I have kids, carrying full size cameras is cumbersome. This camera is just the right size, weight and takes beautiful shots of my moving kids. Love Sony connectivity options, sends your pictures to your phone or to your computer.

Light and Fast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My criteria for a new walk around camera were: 1) Light weight 2) Little or no sacrifice in quality from my D600 3) Interchangeable lenses 4) Fast focus and shutter response This camera meets all my needs and has surprised me with it's capabilities. It is not without it's challenges, but no camera is. It will take some practice to get the best results out of the camera, especially with the kit lens. The 16-50 lens is not the highest quality, but is decent in good light. I would highly recommend adding good lenses to your kit. The high speed focus is accurate in good light with median aperture, but with high speed lenses at large apertures, I found it best to use spot focus and re-frame. I highly recommend this camera. Get the 35 and 50mm fixed focal length lenses. They are very sharp.

Solid value and ease of use!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is our 2nd Sony camera (after our 1st one was stolen) in this line-up. Obviously, we had a good experience with our 1st, so re-purchase was a no-brainer. Our problem with our 1st Sony was it had an issue taking blurry pictures on occasion. The a6000 seems to have fixed that issue, so now it's a great camera for both pics and videos. Interchangeable lens swap-out is simple, as is intuitive understanding of the programs and settings available. I'm a little older, and more confused with high-tech, but this has it, yet is very simple to understand and use right away!

Perfect camera for learning
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm just a kid with a camera. I have always been interested in photography but have never really had the time to just go out and take pictures. I decided to finally get one and after talking to a friend who takes professional photos of race cars he told me for my level of expirence there is no other camera better for me. It's worth every penny and overall a darn good camera to learn on. It's very user friendly and after figuring out some of the bells and whistles the pictures rival those of dslr cameras that the professionals use.

Sony taking over the camera world
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I researched extensively all of the different DSLR cameras and planned on buying a nice Nikon until I stumbled across the Sony Mirrorless line. Sony is not traditionally known as a camera company, especially when it comes to the "big boy" cameras. But I've always liked the features of their point/shoot cameras and have always seemed to be ahead on the technology side. I travel almost every week for work and I bring this camera with me every time. It has taken some amazing shots in light and dark situations. It's lightweight compared to traditional DLSR's and has more megapixels, much faster fps, and lightening fast auto-focus. Very happy with my purchase and look forward to expanding my collection of lenses to go with it.

Great Camera.Period
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gave this camera as a gift to my daughter who has a great photographer's eye. She found the camera intuitive to use. Compact but provides all the quality and defined photos of SLR type cameras. The ability to transfer photos to her iPhone is also fantastic!

Awesome Compact Systems Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera is GREAT. The pictures I have taken with this little guy are spectacular. This camera has a cropped 1.5 sensor(same as DSLR) so you can get the crazy bokeh lacking in the MFT cameras(which I like also). The various settings, options are very handy at times, while some I don't care to use. I do like the fact that you can download apps to the camera to perform extra things(like the time-lapse app). Cons-- NO lens as of yet. Besides the 50mm(a must buy), you are limited to a small pool of lens that are either inexpensive or pro level price(Zeiss) except for the newer "G" lens. Also the battery life is terrible, I mean really terrible like the first android phones terrible. BUt, you can charge it on any android charger. CSC are new so I can see more updates and lens in the future

Great step up from my Canon A610
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have not used my a6000 much yet. Still in learning mode as it has a lot of features. With little knowledge you can jump right in with the two auto modes and take great pictures, but it takes time to work with the full range of what this camera will do. I am very impressed so far and believe it will exceed my expectations, after I use it more under varied conditions. A lot of camera for the money.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great camera. We are not tech savvy people, and we were nervous purchasing a DSLR, but this camera is so easy to use and figure out. We've been using it every day! The picture quality is gorgeous and its a small camera. So powerful for the size.

This Camera Takes Great Shots
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony a6000 it a great camera. Very compact for its size and features. It takes 11 shots per sec when shorting multi pics at once. It is a little weak on dim light photos, but totally workable. I bought this for a trip to Bali, and the pictures were stunning. I would definitely recommend this camera.

I love this camera!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a Canon 6D full frame DSLR that I really like and use a lot. The only downside to the 6D is that it is big and heavy and the lenses are big and heavy. I was looking for something smaller with at least the same quality as the 6D. I looked at the Canon mirrorless cameras and then at the Sony mirrorless cameras. Most of the Canon mirrorless cameras do not have an electronic viewfinder, which was one thing that I really wanted. The Sony a6000 does. I feel that Sony's lenses are better than Canon's mirrorless lenses are. In 2014 the Sony a6000 received DPreview's Gold Award for excellence. It is still an excellent camera and a good first step in the Sony mirrorless system. I have taken over a thousand pictures with it in the short time that I have had it. I am Very Happy with the camera and with all that it can do. Coming from nothing but Canon cameras in the past, there has been a small learning curve with the Sony menu system, but nothing to be concerned about. This Sony a6000 can do 95% of anything that my Canon 6D can do, in a package size that is at least 50% smaller and more than 50% lighter. The camera is a joy to carry around compared to the big Canon 6D. I am really happy with the camera, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good mirrorless camera. Coming from the big DSLR I had to have the electronic viewfinder. It is excellent in it's on right. This Sony a6000 has pretty much put the 6D back on the shelf to stay.

Great camera for beginners and professionals.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this camera mostly for when I'm traveling. It's easy to use and just as good as my dslr. I like not having a to carry my dslr everywhere. It takes amazing pictures has a lot of different shooting options including manual mode.

Was worth the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this right before our Alaska cruise trip and it was worth every penny. This is our first interchangeable lens camera and I never really wanted a bulky DSLR. The gripe with point and shoot was always the auto focus speed and accuracy and which was the primary reason I chose Sony. This camera blows me away with its auto focus performance and picture quality. We used our camera much more than my friends, who was using a traditional DSLR. Though I bought some apps on play memory..never really used them. Highly recommend this for anyone in the market for a high performance, compact, interchangeable lens camera.

Good for travel and lots more...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went in determined to get the Olympus OM-D E-M10 and after talking to the sales rep I ended scoring the a6000 as an open box. This is my first mirrorless and I'm very impressed and glad I picked it up. It is very light and looks good. It has a lot of features I haven't played with yet. The photo quality is great and they transfer easily to my phone via the Sony app. This is a great 2nd camera when you don't want to carry your dslr or when taking a trip. I wish it had a touch screen and that it was weather proof. Getting the protection plan is well worth it. Negotiate and ask the sales rep to throw in a memory card of a carry case. I highly recommend it.

LOVE IT!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First I would like to say that this is pretty much my first camera purchase. I have been wanting to dabble into photography for some time but I have been a bit intimidated by the high end camera market. I had a friend who is a very well known Instagram model show me how he uses the A5000 for his photography and how easy it was to use. I loved how it integrated the WIFI for photo sharing and picture taking. I decided to go with the A6000 because I didn't need to use this for "selfies" Very easy to use and takes very good pictures. I would recommend getting the 50mm fixed lens with this purchase. Makes a huge difference in portrait style photos. Everyone is blown away by the quality of the photos.

Great Camera you can grow with
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this camera at the beginning of a 2 week road trip across the country from New York to California. I wanted to be able to take great pictures of the stunning landscapes that I would be crossing. I was not disappointed. I was looking at getting into the DSLR game but at the advice of my cousin and photographer I decided on Mirrorless. This is a great camera that you can use right out of the box without much experience but there are enough features that as you gain experience you can really get into the full functionality that you would get with a DSLR.

Acceptable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not a super camera but it performs better than its competitors in this price range. its light weight, tons of features, and some nice free photo editing software are included online. if you are a beginner or semi pro you will enjoy it. i deducted one star just for the short battery life.
