This camera has worked great for the many uses I had intended. I have taken action videos of a golf swing with the sport mode and received very clear images, I have used the manual mode with long exposure settings to take some very cool star pictures, and I have used the macro mode to get some neat pictures of flowers in the garden at my house. Very pleased with the outcomes in all of these situations.

Takes beautiful pics and is simple to use. Would recommend to anyone in the market for a new camera

Truth be told this is a good camera which for a decent price, I would totally recommend to anyone BUT... don't do it. At least don't get it at Best Buy. I really wanted a permanent b cam in my setup, so I bought this as a used open-box and I think I have come to the conclusion that I may never buy any camera equipment from best buy ever again. Maybe a lens but definitely not a camera and definitely not open-box. Generally best buy is pretty good with their open-box or clearance items but this was all around bad. Probably the worst in my history as a customer and sadly I kept it anyways... Long story short, it was dirty and the evf offset dial had a dent in it??? That thing is so tiny, you would have had to have aimed really good to damage that spot... hence indicative of a bad drop. Also the sensor cap was missing, no charger, and no kit lens... just the body, evf rubber guard, manuals and a usb cable, I actually thought I made a mistake when I ordered because the picture it showed when I purchased it had the lens, and I thought I was getting a deal on just the body but when I got the order receipt, it was the one with the 16-50 included. Unfortunately, that was missing from the box and I had to go back to the store and argue my way into getting at least a discount even though they tried to hide the missing accessories sticker with a new sticker, which I peeled off. The lady who had been assisting me with this, was extremely rude to me just to add insult to injury and I had to speak to another person to verify the claim to be true, and convince her to shave a little more off for the items missing and this horrible experience. Luckily, this camera works as intended, I just have to deal with the cosmetic wear and tear, the dent, and the fact that I slightly overpaid for it, even with their applied discount for missing accessories.

I read all of the negative reviews... the positive reviews.. and went ahead and got it to see for myself and so far... I LOVE IT!!! I have a Canon DLSR camera which isn't comparable and I like that about it. Everyone has their own vision of how a picture they take should be and for me.. it was totally worth the money spent. I even bought a rubber cover where the flash goes and a glass protector for the big screen on the back. Definitely try the camera out.. at the least you can return it.

I think this camera is great starting camera for beginner level photographers. All the functions are easy to understand and operate while getting great quality pictures.

The sales girl talks me into this camera over the one I was looking at I'm very thankful that she did I made a better purchase. Lots of online tutorials to help you customize the camera to your specific needs and desires

I have learned so much getting to use the camera & the experience at Best buy was excellent - my only problem is the manual is so simple & only tells me which button is which - I would like a class or something to help me out

This camera is great for anyone who wants DSLR quality pictures without having to lug around a DSLR. The body is slim, the image quality is great, you can send pictures directly to your smartphone (making instagramming them that much easier because let's be real we all know why we're here). Overall I think Sony came out with a near perfect camera. My only complaint is that loud shutter. If you're in a museum or a quiet place or you're just trying to take a candid shot without someone knowning, then best of luck to you.

Good quality. A beginners camera! I just started getting into photography and videography . Do wish I got the camera with the flip screen, this one only goes up.
