Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the camera's quality, ease of use, and compact size and weight, making it a convenient option. The camera's 4K capabilities, low light performance, and fast autofocus are also well-received. However, customers are negative about the battery life and overheating issues, especially when shooting video, and some find the menu system difficult to navigate and would like a touch screen.

    Simply Amazing...

Wow the a6300 has blown my mind. Its crazy how good the still and video quality is. The autofocus system is the fastest in the world and has over 400 detection points. But listen carefully to my one piece of advice. DO NOT judge the performance of this camera while using the kit lens. The included 16-50mm doesn't nearly do the genius sensor in the a6300 justice. Its ok for making a few quick stills and getting familiar with the camera BUT if you want to really use the a6300 to its full potential. I bought the E18-200mm F3.5-6.6 OSS LE lensed WOW what a difference. If this sony lens is this good I can't imagine what the camera can do with the premium Zeiss lens. For me, the sony lens i bought is more than adequate and I got it for $745 on sale at best buy. The APS-C sensor is new for the a6300 and it is just incredible. I totally recommend this camera. I came to this product from a large and heavy Canon 50D. The a6300 not only blows the Canon out of the water in every category, but its SO much lighter and smaller.

It overheat using 4K Video and the camera stops at 20 min. It's okay for still photo shoot but not for 4K video.

    Love this camera....

I've been researching cameras, and was going to purchase the a6500 model, but it was sold out, and ended up purchasing the a6300 with the bundle + zoom lens. It's everything I want in a camera, it's easy to hold, the size and grip is perfect. I was most impressed with the image quality and colors. The functions are easy to use. Most of the positive reviews written about the camera are accurate. I haven't used it for video yet, so haven't had any issues with the camera getting hot, but it's mentioned in the guide. The minor complaints about the short battery life can be fixed with buying extra batteries. Every thing this camera has to offer surpasses all the minor issues. If you're on the fence about either purchasing this a6300 over the a6500 model, depending on what features you want, you can't go wrong with either camera. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Main screen was giving me an error code when I tried turning it on with in the 2nd day I bought it... I was on vacation so I returned with no photos. Geek squad advice to return the camera instead of getting it fixed . So I just got my money back till I decide what camera to get later.

Sony is not readable on Max. So if you are an Apple user do not buy a Sony camera. Stone is not helpful and Best Buy is not helpful either. I will never buy a refurbished product again

Good camera, but has a few flaws.

This camera takes great pictures. If you want to record 4k, this will get you in the door. Compared to the a6000, 1080p video does not look as good. Another known issue is overheating which happens when recording 4k video for over 20 minutes. Good camera for the price, but if you have the money, A7SII will blow this away, especially with low light.

Photographer/Videographer here experiencing the Sony A6300 for a few months now. One word: LOVE. Like a DSLR except very compacted. Sony has been advancing in their tech, and I'm so glad to have made this purchase. Shoots 4k and is amazing in low light. I've had no problems with over heating. Would definitely recommend this product!

    Great camera and lightweight

This is the new lightweight camera that I updated from my old heavy DSLR. What a difference it makes to carry this thing around on a trip. It's light and easy to use. Pictures are awesome and I'm very happy with the quality. The lens kit is compact and thin. It could be better but the sacrifice is worth it in terms of quality and weight.

So many reviews on this item and all of them complimenting it. I will join all of them. Of course it's not perfect. Maybe it overheats but don't everything overheats if you use it the sun? Although one thing could be added -- touch screen, come on SONY, even older models had it.

    Very capable camera

I have taken a few hundred shots with the A6300 so far and am very satisfied with the results. Low light performance and build quality are above that of the A6000, which I previously bought and returned. In any case, it was definitely worth the wait. It's gonna take me a while to figure this beast out. The only major flaw I see are the menus, which are just awful. Think Windows 8 awful. There also seems to be a problem with the playmemories camera apps, lots of time wasted trying to purchase those. Those guys at Sony really can't code for shinola. This is a known issue, and it's not clear at this point that Sony is going to do anything about it, which means no apps for my A6300.

But it and see for yourself. Fantastic image quality and video out of this tiny pocket cam. Good lens selection too! Only drawback is it is very easy to overheat with 4k video shooting for any duration over 10 minutes. Also this lacks in-body image stabilization so if you wanna shoot video or long exposure be sure your lens has OSS or IS

Great camera for the features and price

Love this camera, highly recommend. Worth the extra money over the 6000. I purchased the kit that included the bag and the 55-210 zoom lens, which appears to no longer be available. Shame, it was a great value for $1000(on sale). I believe it earns a 5 star rating with ease. I can compare and contrast features on an $1800 Canon 80D and come out way ahead for my money with this bad boy. Some highlights include the 11 fps burst fire speed, top level menus for many features, and customizable buttons all over the camera. Compact body allows me to carry this plus 2 extra lenses in a relatively small camera bag, plus more autofocus points than any DSLR I've seen. This is actually my first "real" digital camera since shooting 35mm. I love the compact format and being able to see what my exposure will look like right in the viewfinder. Drawback: 16-50 kit lens leaves a lot to be desired. I understand they were going for compact, but I would have preferred at least a 49mm lens. Takes good pictures outside, sunny and overcast. Does okay inside, but you need a lot of light. I see it's being offered with the 18-135 lens that I'm looking at for my next purchase-I'd buy that for the glass every day, unless you really really need this to fit in your pocket. The camera is great, lens is okay, but there's lots of other great lenses available.

I loved the experience and design. It is a beauty and quite small for what is inside of it. Unfortunately the sensor did not much my expectations and the 24-70mm f/4 lens was not sharp enough for the money they asking.

    Do NOT buy Open Box

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought the open box option, which was indicated as "Excellent", but this did not reflect the condition of the product that arrived at home. The lens cap and the camera cap (the one that protects the CMOS) were missing. The camera was all dusty, and the missing caps allowed dust to accumulate on the lens and on the sensor. Furthermore, the lens had fingerprints all over it. I could not accept this as "Excellent condition". I returned the camera and the manager said that someone made a mistake when registering the product, and that this camera might have been a display camera.
