This is the best and light weight APS-C interchangeable lens camera. I have been using this camera for several months. It gave outstanding images and fast focus function on touch screen.

I, like you, looked all over the internet for reviews on this and many other cameras. That meant countless hours watching reviews, reading reviews on here, looking up guides, and so on. I came to the conclusion that this one was the one for me. The selling points for me were the small form factor, the evf, and steadyshot. The evf was a big deal to me as it would let me see what my shot would look like in real time and it shows a lot of information on there as well. Steadyshot was necessary as I wanted to make videos and I didn't want shaky videos so I went with something that had optical image stabilization. Lastly the small form factor makes it easy to take anywhere. The only downside that I could think of for getting this camera is that you would have to invest in the lenses. They are not cheap by any means. So if you want this camera you have to have a good amount set apart for lenses as well since they will always work better than cannon or Nikon lenses with an adapter. That being said it's an excellent camera and the lenses are some of the sharpest I have seen for both video and photography so I would say it is worth it. If you are debating whether to buy it or not, I would say to go for it as it's one of the best value cameras on the market right now.

The Sony A6500 is a nice camera for the consumer from beginner to enthusiast. I spent time researching before purchasing and several major reviews listed it as a good choice. The camera has excellent photo quality and video quality as well, a strong comprehensive package. The trio of Sony Alpha 6000s share most features; however. The model differences are important to operation. The 6500 has the same rating on its photo quality as the 6300 as they share the updated copper designed innards given them the one-up on the previous models. The other difference is that video is better on the A6500 as Sony seems to have gotten the Video to no longer have a time limit before thermal shutdown. Something you read a bit on with regard to the previous models. The camera is an APS-C sensor design which classifies it in most circles as a non-professional camera due to its ability in lower light settings over that of a full-frame but there are other considerations- price and lens price specifically, that make the APS-C a great choice for all but those perhaps with photography as a career. I recommend this camera to those who want a smaller platform to take photos and videos that are really good but don't want to break the bank getting a nice camera.

With all the photographic equipment my son and I have had in our hands this is by far the most excellent we have experienced. IQ is superb, with the controls it has its capabilities are endless and limitless. Sigma 225/750 tele and 26/105mm lenses are a perfect combo for us. From a beautiful portrait of a mother and son shot to look like 400 35mm on an overcast day, to an Osprey flaring to land in its tower top nest. This camera can do it all. AND IN 4K for what cost to own??? Nit pick BS COMPLAINTS NEED TO BE IGNORED. Learn to master this little gem's capabilites and you will amaze yourself. After months of research this was our choice and WE WOULD NOT TRADE IT FOR ANYTHING ELSE.

Moved from a Canon DSLR ( used Canon for 7 years) and the transition is smooth ( Barring couple of hiccups like Playmemories for Mac has not been updated since 2017 and doesn't recognise transferred photos) Very impressed with the quality of photos especially low light photos handheld. I paired it with Zeiss lens and sharpness / colours are awesome.

I got this camera as an upgrade from the a6000. One noticeable difference when I picked up this camera was its weight and feel. The a6500 does weigh more but the grip is much more ergonomic. For shooting, the AF is much better, it focuses a little quicker as well as added focus spots. However, my favorite thing is probably the extra custom button and IBIS.

I have to say Sony has made mass improvements on their camera line since the power shot. The a6500 is compact and awesome! Great stabilization in the body but more added in the higher end lenses. If you are willing to shell out the cash this camera is very worth it and maybe the last camera you purchase.

I picked the sony for its reputation for great autofocus in video mode, and it works as well as advertised. I found myself taking a lot of pictures with it as well, and they have been impressive. With a 30mm lens its a small setup for the quality of images you get.

Purchased this camera for my daughter's first birthday and when paired with a Zeiss lens the photos and videos are outstanding. So many features which will keep you busy setting everything up. Once you customize it to your liking and practice a bit, then you will fall in love with it.

Love this camera. Takes excellent stills and incredible 4K video. Watching the video on a 4K display is beautiful. Mirrorless design makes for small package but is not an issue when shooting. In body stabilization works good. Recommend this camera!
