This camera did not dissapoint! I have the a6000 (another surprisingly awesome camera) but was ready to move on to full frame. I had seen a lot of videos and reviews that had raved of the a7ii and it's abilities, so I was a little skeptical it would live up to the hype! It did not dissapoint!

I have nothing bad to say about this camera so far! I just started photography and and the photos I've taken have been way better then taking photos with my phone! Unfortunately the first time taking the photos was for a funeral and other family members that couldn’t make it wanted some pictures of the flowers and they turned out (in my opinion) great!

Although, the camera is great in itself, the technical specifications speak for themselves. What really impressed me was, Brian from Best Buy in Rockville MD, walking me through all the options and helping me understand the difference between several cameras.

I love this camera! I realize it is older and is not going to be as good as the new ones but for someone like myself who is new to photography, this is great. I can get nice clear pictures and some good night shots as well. With some quality lenses and a little practice, your pictures can look great.

The image sensor went bad 1 day after warranty expired. The cost to send it out for repair is more than the camera is worth. The pictures I took with it were amazing though… if you do buy, get protection plan

Bought the Sony Alpha 7II full frame mirrorless as an upgrade for my Sony Nex 6. Still experimenting, but like the size and feel of this camera a lot. Larger and heavier than my Nex 6, but comfortable and smaller than DSLR's.. Full frame capability and large image sensor provides a big step up in photo quality, particularly in low light settings and fairly easy to use. Would be even better if it had a touch screen, built-in flash and longer lasting battery.

I am a Canon 5D Mark 3 shooter who bought this Sony a7ii as a lighter weight travel alternative. I tried point and shoot cameras but they just didn't take the quality of photos that I was looking for. This camera is almost as good as my Canon 5DM3 but not quite as good in low light but it's a trade off I'm willing to make when I am traveling. The smaller size makes up for it. I bought the 55mm Sony lens and have been very happy with the clarity I get with this combination of camera and lens. In normal shooting instances it's on par with my Canon 5DM3 and the Canon 50mm L series lens. I guess if I had to complain about anything it would be the lack of Sony prime lenses that are available for the Sony a7ii. I do understand that there are new lenses being released this year which should help. I have used some of my Canon lenses with this camera using an adapter. The results aren't as good as I had hoped. Autofocus isn't available on all of them and when it does work, it's slow so I usually end up manually focusing. Overall I'm very happy with the image quality and portability of this camera and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a full frame, lightweight travel alternative to a large DSLR.

I have had this camera for several weeks, and I enjoy using it. The image quality is great (even when shooting with an ISO of 1280), and the viewfinder is bright and user-friendly (The camera zooms in digitally so that you can check your focus, which helps me since I have poor eyesight.). In addition to these benefits, the camera is also compact, so it is easy to travel with it. The only downsides of this camera are that the auto focus is not always accurate when I use it, and the battery only lasts between 2 and 3 hours. Then again, I am still getting used to using auto focus because I have primarily used manual focus for the past 5 years. Overall, the Sony A7 ii is a very good camera, and I would recommend it - just be sure to purchase an extra battery or 2. - Olivia F.

Long time canon shooter. Fell in love with sony size+auto focus But needed the full frame option for weddings and professional work. Did lots of research and decided on this A7ii. It’s amazing for stills. Yes only one SD card slot and it uses the older smaller Sony batteries. But honestly it’s super cheap to buy extras. Honestly crazy bang for buck at $999. Can’t wait for a7iii to drop in price when the A7iv releases. I have not regretted this purchase one bit. If your on the fence and new to Sony I definitely recommend this camera as a start point.

Buying a 2014 camera in 2023 has to be a brave decision especially when the a7c II just debuted. If you can find one at discounted price, however, this camera is still a terrific tool at capturing light and shadows. Pros: big discount on open box during sale; 24mp is more than enough for 10in+ prints; IBIS for manual or older lenses; acceptable AF for casual photos Cons: battery life is a concern; and you might still want the a7R IV

I was reluctant to switch over from Nikon since I like the latter no much. I read a lot about the Sony battery draining so quick, and after using it for some weeks now I must say it is truly an inconvenience.Yet an overshadowed inconvenience by the amazing benefits you get having an EVF, especially in low-lights conditions. There are a lot of tips out there as of how can you make the battery last longer. I just found a RAVpower set of two batteries and quick charger for only $27 and they work great. Image quality is great too, but honestly you get that with any comparable full frame either Canon or Nikon. To me, it was the camera weight what sold me into getting this Sony a7ii. Features are really cool, but again I had great features with my Nikon. It's a matter of preference in the end. Just don't let the battery issue puts a weight on your decision.

My dream camera is the a7riii but this is what I was able to afford at the moment, and I must say that I am very impressed. The ability to capture crisp, sharp, HD images in low light is absolutely incredible. They say the A7s models are made for video, but I can't tell. The video quality on this camera is 5 star.. I love my camera. Can't wait to take pictures of these big booty Instathots. I mean models. Lol. Enjoy your camera and live a little. Only bad thing about the camera is the fact that the battery sucks. You will have no choice but to get a second battery.

I was all set to get the Nikon D750 but noticed some great deals on this camera through black Friday deals and on impulse bought it. Glad I did. Although I've been a Nikon guy for decades I wanted full frame and curious about mirrorless. There's so much to like about this camera. I love it in low light. I love the fact I can use my legacy lenses with an adapter. And I love how it feels in my hands. Still learning all the features and eager to shoot video with it but as a content producer this camera has so much potential.

Chunky camera, hefty, large, slow, but beautiful, great pictures and decent video, the autofocus is not great but it is decent. I love the shutter sound, and it didn't have a very fast shutter when it comes to burst mode. But it is still a full frame lowlight living, chunky, camera that feels good in the hands and could probably survive a bomb.

I bought this camera to try out the Sony mirror-less platform compared to my daily Nikons. The price was good so I could instead ad the 85mm along with 20 & 35. Although the video is 1080 it’s excellent. I mostly shoot stills and do some editorial work. Haven’t used it much, but it’s in the daily bag now. It’s a little quick on the battery, so I’ll get a two pack to keep along.
