This is a great full frame camera. I am using it as my backup to my Canon 5DM2. Quick to focus and does a great job with low light.

Great camera, especially for the price. I upgraded from a Sony DSLR, and it has a similar feature set, but a significant upgrade in this full-frame camera. My comparison is from my previous APSC sensor, and compared to that images are significantly better, especially in low light. There may be other better low light full frame cameras, but for this price I don't think you can get any better.

This is a great camera for beginners or professionals. It takes beautiful quality photos. It is amazing in low light settings. Order David Busch's Sony a7RII/a7II Digital Photography book and you can learn all you need to know about using the menu and settings. The Instruction Book that comes with the camera is lacking in details. Great for nature shots, portraits, grandkids.

Totally recommend this user friendly camera for beginners to professional. I just launched my professional photography and Etsy handmade soap business and had 5 family holiday photo sessions and 1 newborn baby session.
I also bought an extra battery grip so it's easier to hold and the vertical shots are easier. Also, to extend the battery life since I typically book two photo sessions on the same day.

Though pricier than the prior model the extra features and functions more than compensate for the increase.
This big upgrade is build in 5 Axis Image Stabilization. That feature even applies to non Sony lenses, though you lose 2 Axis' with adapted lenses.
Only real flaw is the horrid Battery life. A spare is a necessity for any travel use as you WILL run out.

I upgraded from a Cannon 60D. This camera is light weight and easy to carry around. The raw images are amazing and edited video output of full 1080 is amazing. It recorded at 4K but output is only 1080p. I wish it output 4K but still has amazing video capabilities. Best camera I have ever owned.

I have been using a Nex-7 so I knew this would be a good upgrade. Not a lot of experience with the camera yet, but I am getting some very good photos with the Sony/Zeiss FE 35 f2.8 lens. The new bigger grip makes this camera easy to handle with big hands, and it is a joy to use.

I bought this camera for family use. I shoot a lot of portraits for my son and my wife. It's great for shooting in low light and indoor, it also captures moving kids very well. Easy to use, fantastic build quality, and great image quality.

I did a lot of research before finally deciding to buy this camera. I'm a relatively serious photographer and have felt constricted by my cameras (higher end point and shoots). I started looking at DSLRs then a friend recommended this. At first I thought it was too much but then decided to take the leap and I am very glad I did. I took the camera on a safari and the results are incredible. It can make a garbage can look beautiful. The manual is definitely good to look through, the preset buttons are great. I got the 24-240 native lens and it's great to have such a wide range. I also got a Minolta adaptor and a Minolta prime lens; so great to be able to spend $30 for a lens. Overall it's great. The full frame is wonderful, especially for landscapes. It's nice and light weight. I can't imagine carrying a heavy DSLR now.

I really enjoy the inbs with the inbs youre able to take pictures at as low as 1/30 and still have a sharp image absolutely revolutionary makes nights shots a breeze. The iso also introduces less noise the most cameras ive ever used.

Best Mirrorless Camera on the market

I recently switched from a Fujifilm X-T1 to this camera and I have absolutely no regrets. The full frame sensor plus additional image quality (24 MP) is a huge advantage, and very rare on a mirrorless camera.
The image stabilization is also very noticeable, making night shots significantly easier to take.
The lens choices for this camera are great; I would highly recommend the Zeiss 55mm 1.8, super sharp and fast focusing. This camera's also great for adapting lenses from any other make.

This camera is phenomenal. At its price point for a full frame digital camera you cannot beat it. The focus is extremely fast and image quality is superb. Built in WiFi makes it easy to share images straight out of the camera to your phone for easy sharing to social media sites. The EVF allows you to nail your shots in camera so your exposures should be spot on. What you see is what you get. Awesome camera.

I already have an A7S (purchased used at a third of the retail cost), an amazing camera that really does see in near dark. I also shoot Nikon (crop sensor), which I use for wildlife. I've wanted a full frame camera for a long time, and picked this one up in an open box sale. It's not the latest tech (I think it's going on 3yo) camera, but it still seems to keep up at the very least with other 24 MP in its price range. I love the Sony cameras - I find they are a pleasure to shoot, and the in-body stabilization of the series 2 is a real bonus. I use legacy lenses on both my sonys, I also own two sony lenses. Legacy lenses are best used in manual mode without spending the $$ on an adapter. A $20 adapter will allow you to use cheap but very high quality legacy glass. Just amazing quality, and addictive. If you want faster autofocus though, and all that sony offers in a system, sony glass is the way to go. I have the basic 1.8 50 mm lens (slowish, not horrible optics), and the 24-70 4.0 Sony ziess (bought used for a good price). There is the drawback - sony lenses seem to be a bit pricier than their Nikon and Canon counterparts, but you can find them discounted if you keep looking. The 7ii has pretty good video capabilities including formats and settings that produce high quality and deep dynamic range in 1080p (no 4K). The shutter is loud in this camera, but doesn't seem much louder than my nikon. You can't shoot in silent mode like you can with the a7s or a7r series. I really enjoy the EVF and ability to use focus peaking with non-sony lenses. The viewfinder screen, which allows to to view at limited angles is good enough, but not as advanced as other cameras. I used to own a samsung nx300, which had a superior touch screen (it was ahead of its time). I'm still learning the camera, but pleased so far - and it really is a great FF for the money. Would I prefer the A7rii? Yes. But even at discount they are about $1600 more than what I paid for this camera. I'll live with what I have for now and spend money on lenses. One big issue I have with the second series sony cameras though, which is why I dropped one star: the firmware (currently 4.0) is a "star eater" - look it up. One of my passions is night photography - the A7s is great for that, and still out performs the newer A7ii and possibly the A7rii. It also has the older firmware, which does not eat stars - and is so much better for astrophotography. On that topic: while the A7s is known for low noise at higher ISO, the A7ii is no slouch. Another complaint people have is that RAW is still minimally processed with the sony cameras. I'm still trying to find out what that means for me. But there are a lot of people who use sony professionally, and find a way to create amazing images.
