I bought the Sony A7ii after being a loyal Canon DSLR user. I wanted to make a move into mirrorless and after some research, found that the Sony A7ii is the best full frame option for my first mirrorless. I have not been disappointed. I use this camera for general use - both photography and videography and it has not let me down. Aside from the learning curve coming from the Canon ecosystem, this camera has everything you need.

This Camera is an amazing full frame camera body that stands up to its competition being Nikon and Canon at a fraction of the price not missing anything.
If there was one thing I would improve is the battery life but honestly if you're a full frame shooter you should have extra power anyway.
I would recomend this to anyone who is begining in full frame to a seasoned pro in the world of full frame shooters.

This thing feels great in the hand. So much better than the A7. Auto focus works well and has more features than most will ever need. However the menu system is horrible and it did not have to most current firmware installed

I upgraded from the Sony Nex F3 and tgis camera is awesome! It's upgraded design makes it much easier to adjust while shooting than the other models. This Full Frame model takes exceptional photos as well. Highly recommend!

I bought this camera with the intention to do a little bit of both video and photos. Although the camera has a full-censor it does not work that great with low light. The video quality sucks. Also, the auto focus is not as responsive. The camera does the job as long as you know how to work with your settings you should be able to get a great photo.

This is my first mirror less camera switching from canon and it's the best decision I've made buying a camera. If you look at the online reviews of this camera, you would see how the picture quality and the versitality it comes with it.

I got this camera so that my lenses would carry over to better Sony cameras if I were to get into photography. It takes great photos for relatively cheap compared to the newer a7 series.

I've been a 22 year Canon shooter and recently made the jump to mirrorless. I still shoot Canon but now considering going Sony Alpha series all the way. I'm blown away by the speed and compact weight. My only issue is that I like a large grip that my Canon bodies have. But I can adapt well to this small form factor, given the performance output.

I think the camera should have more external controls for the various functions. It requires too much menu selection for the desired functions.
A user needs to be experienced in order to select the right menu selections. But the camera is lighter than my DSLRs, and that is why I bought. I would like SONY to produce a portrait lens for the camera.

Definitely enjoying my camera so far and not hard to use, but I will need to get a better lens for it. Maybe a 35mm and/or 85mm lens would be good to get for this camera. The kit lens is good but I will need a sharper lens.

First, need to admit that Sony did a good job on mirrorless camera. It is easy to use for the beginner. A little expensive but definitely worth it. Much better than my Olympus EM-5

Don’t get me wrong, it is a great camera but my main complaint is the battery life, it just doesn’t last very long. Take it from me, if you can save up go on and get the A7iii the battery life is twice as long, Plan on getting extra batteries if you’ll be out all day.
