I've been using my camera for 2 months now, and even took it on my trip to Hawaii. This full frame camera is packed with power (I love the battery life--one pack for the day) and the body is strong enough to withstand my travel in the rainforests of Hawaii. Photo quality is beautiful...and when it comes to low light, this camera works so well. I basically have the power of the A7Riii but for a cheaper price and less megapixels.

I purchased the A7iii as an affordable second body to my A7riii. Now I find I'm reaching for it a often as the other. Same great features and and in most cases the 24 mp is more than enough. Only negative, Sony doesn't include a battery charger. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

This camera is leaps and bounds above the previous A7II, when I thought it couldn't get any better Sony amazed me. Best buy prices and service are second to none.

This is a great product! I am not the most experienced user when it comes to cameras. But this has amazing picture quality and is fairly priced for the quality!

To start off, I want to give this camera 5 stars based off performance but there are little quirks that keep from being so. The menu system is a little bit complicated to find small changes you want to make. Thankfully they have a function in the menu that allows you to customize the important features for quick customization, in addition to the customizable buttons the camera has. Mainly though, my biggest gripe is the lack of a full articulating screen on the back. I wish Sony would design the screens in mind for bloggers like canon does. Having it flip upside down isn't enough for those who use a microphone. The autofocus for facial recognition is fantastic so there is a work around. I want to give this a 4.5 but it'sn't possible on this forum. The camera is a great bargain for the cost.

This camera fills any need a beginning or professional photographer would have. Fast autofocus, great in low light and really feels good in my hand. The grip could be deeper however. The new battery lasts far longer than the fw50 and has dual card slots for back up memory. Go and get this camera. Very affordable for the quality you're getting.

This thing is insane. Lets just say its hard to not get a great shot. Im not a professional by any means but I can definitely see why they use it. I would recommend this highly. Also the autofocus on this thing is insane. Only mad I didnt buy it sooner instead of slowly upgrading. If your debating buying a cheaper alternative and then upgrading, save ur money and just buy this. All you will ever need.

I been a wedding photographer for over 22 years and used Canon DSLR's for a very long time. After careful reviews, I decided to buy the A73 for its amazing focusing system. All I can say its money well spent. The focusing system its simply amazing. I feel more confident during every photo session! I could go on and on about the wonderful features of this amazing camera. Just know that Sony is so far ahead from its competitors in mirrorless technology. You will not regret buying this camera.

I love this camera. I love it for photos and video. I love it for everything it does. 2 SD card slots with 1 slot being SII speeds which is amazing. It does beautiful photos and beautful video and I haven't had the first problem. This camera is super worth it. I was going to get a sony a6500 but for the price this camera is worth stepping up. It's not just a basic model it's fantastic and fully professional grade. If someone is looking for their first camera and can spend some money or a seasoned pro wanting another camera body then GET THIS! .....unless you want the more expensive version that does 42MP files. I'm happy with it and I love it and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

    Excellent hardware, mediocre software

The good: As full frame cameras go it's a great price. I've been very happy with the image quality and video capabilities. The battery life is significantly better than my A6500 crop sensor Sony. The build quality is also top notch. The OK You've already probably heard about the terrible menu, terrible manual and lack of touch screen menu interaction. That actually doesn't bother me quite as much as it does other reviewers. There are tons of setup guides for it on Youtube and tons of customization with the hardware buttons and with the Fn menu. There are a few things I want to put on the Fn menu that I can't, but overall once it's setup to your liking it's pretty easy to operate. The Bad: No flip out screen. I mean, c'mon, that's been a staple of DSLR's for decades. Also, no charger in the box. If I'm dropping 2 grand on a camera body, you could either go ahead and provide one or just raise the price by $5 or $10. I guarantee nobody will notice that as much as they notice having to plug the body in to charge. The worst: Sony really needs to get their act together with regards to software. Most camera companies turn out some pretty bad software but Sony really takes the cake here and in fact seems to be worse now than it was a couple years ago with my a6500. Transferring images to a mobile device is a hassle. Getting them to the computer relentlessly is a hassle. The NFC connection setup doesn't seem to work at all regardless if you're on Apple or Android. And this brings me to my final point: This camera is not platform agnostic. It, at least as of this review works MUCH BETTER on Android. I can't even get the app to connect to the camera on my iphone XS with everything updated, and a few months ago when I could, getting it to do so was a pain and only sort of worked. On my Samsung Galaxy S 10: no problem. Connected and working like a charm.

This is A7iii is my second Sony camera. My other Sony is A77II. As much as I have enjoyed that camera it isn't even in the same realm. The images this camera produces are beautiful. I find the camera to be very user friendly with the exception of the menu system. I watched several videos on how to use/set the menu up and although those few hours were a bit dry did help me become confident in using the DEEP menu structure. The A7iii ability to gather light isn'thing less than spectacular. The auto focus is as close to instantiations as seems possible as well as very accurate. I have not shot any video with it yet, so I will leave those functions to others to comment on. The body is a bit small for my hands especially when paired with the 24-70 2.8 GM lens which is my only lens as this time. I felt the need to purchase a third party grip right away since I didn't feel very confidant in the grip I had with the enormous lens. The ability to set custom functions to several buttons makes many common tasks easy. I do miss the fully articulating screen of my other camera but I usually use the EVF anyway. The A7iii and A7Riii both have some firmware issues at the time of this review which have caused me to be unable to view pictures I have taken in camera. Yes that is frustrating but having read several articles I believe Sony will be releasing a Firmware update in the next week or two which will fix this bug. This is the sole reason I didn't give this camera a 5 star review. The lack of an included dedicated charger, while annoying was not a major issue for me since I knew about it before purchasing my camera so ordered a charger at the same time. The menu structure while very DEEP allows a lot of customization which I appreciate. This camera allows the user to create their own menu for the settings which one most frequently uses and that is brilliant! I was disappointed Sony didn't include a PC sync port on this camera but the Sony wireless adapter has one on it, so not a major problem. The battery life is better than any camera I have ever had including several Cannons I had before switching to Sony. All in all I am very happy with this camera and encourage anyone on the fence to give this wonder a shot.
