Great Still Camera

This is a great still camera at a good price. I would not hesitate to use on any of my clients projects. The sensor is awesome and records details that rivals many more expensive 35mm cameras. Auto focus is good but i usually focus manually. I am an advertising photographer.

I've always been a Sony man and this camera has not disappointed me in any way. Nikon and Canon users are always slightly discouraged because of how seamless my process of producing a stunning quality photo is. It all begins with a great camera.

This camera is a beast. I have both the a7sII and the a7rII and both are amazing cameras. I am a videographer who does occasional still photography and I would chose the R over the S mainly because I shoot in some light and the autofocusing is better on the R versus the S.
The low light is better on the S model but the R holds its own. If you don't plan on shooting on pitch darkness, the R might be a better choice due to the ability to hold focus better (in daylight). I must also ad that the low light is comparable when the R is in APSC mode. The full frame mode in low light is abysmal. With that being said, I use canon glass (both FF and APSC) and they work great with this camera. I am also using a Metabones IV Canon to Sony E-mount and the autofocusing is almost native.
I would highly recommend the Sony a7rII for both stills and video. Though, if you plan on shooting in extreme low light conditions, go with the S. If you have some light, the R is a better all around camera.

Although the camera has been out for several years already, its still a great camera especially for how cheap you can get it.
42mp is a lot of resolution. The high resolution full frame sensor with the ability to shoot RAW makes it a lot easier shooting in low light and for post processing like cropping and so forth.
Although it is an older camera, it doesn't have all modern features, for the price, build quality (weather sealed) and capabilities it is a great camera!

I recently repurchased this camera after finding myself in the need to sell mine. This camera, despite being released three years ago, is an incredible machine. The resolution is top notch with good lenses and it is very customizable. Very good in low light situations. The model III is also a very capable camera but I feel for me the price difference is not worth the gains yet. This camera is a real bargain at the current price. I was lucky to find an INCREDIBLE open box deal on this one so be sure to check your local store often.

Among the best high-end options on the market. I recommend this camera for its price and for the quality of images and videos that are obtained from it. I am very happy to buy it in a Best Buy store as it offers me more peace of mind in the product offered.
If you are thinking about having a camera looking for all the quality specifications. This is your choice.
The only complaint I have about her is the battery. But I always have several with me.

This quality of this camera is insane!!! I love everything about it.
The only downside is the battery and the buffering

I have had several Sony mirrorless cameras, A7, A6000 & the A6300. Moving into this has made a world of difference. Even though there is a newer model this does it all. You will enjoy this camera and all the great features it has.

After seeing all the professionals jumping from there current big heavy body full frame cameras to this beauty I knew I needed to make the jump. Although I'm an amateur still learning the craft, I'm super pleased with this camera.

Excellent camera for serious photographers. Really value the compact design and weight of the main body since my daughter will be the main user. Obviously, depending on the type of lens you buy, it provides high-quality pictures in a multitude of settings, particularly in low light environments. Like most users, the main downside is the auto focus but it shouldn't be an issue for any skilled photographer.

First off I went from the Rebel t4i -> A6000 -> A6300 -> A7rii. This camera is insane if you have friends that shoot Canon or Nikon and they use this they will hate their cameras and convert.

If you want a top-tier mirrorless, Sony's Alpha series is the way to go. The a7r iii was out, but as I'm not a professional, I thought the a7r ii would be enough for me. It takes great quality pictures at high resolution, and was worth the purchase. One thing to note is that the menu screen can be a bit daunting (I read it in the reviews, any they weren't lying), but the way I see it, it just means you have a lot of control
