Got this because of the small form factor and decreased weight. Currently using it for bird photography paired with a Sony 200-600mm. The high megapixel was chosen over the A7III to get a tighter crop.

It is a very good camera, I would recommend it to anybody that knows about photography as a professional. It has an extensive menú option which sometimes can be very hard to understand. Also, you must buy a very good SDcard just because otherwise can be very slow. Color quality is exceptional!!

Nice camera, though I think a bit pricey for its age. I really wanted to trade this in to get a open box A7RIV but the %15 restocking fee is really stupid and will be my last camera purchase from bestbuy.

Got this camera open-box it claimed on the website to be in “Excellent condition” yeah right! Got the camera with no sensor cover. The image sensor was open and exposed to all the elements. Needless to say the sensor is completely dirty and even has a finger print on it. Not impressed Best Buy. Do better please!

Jaw dropping low light ability. Detail it captures will amaze you. Even with Battery grip camera so much lighter then my Canon EOS 5D Mark II or Nikon D300s. 42Mp so much detail and battery life is quite good. I am using a Metabones Adapter so I can use my Canon Lens on my Sony A7R III and opens the door to so many more lens. Can't go wrong with this Mirrorless Camera have show little over 3000 pictures since purchase and find this camera easy to use. Highly recommend getting some books on this camera so as to set it up for how you enjoy using it, so many options to configure it how you use it.

    Capturing Brilliance in Compact Frames

I recently had the pleasure of using the Sony Alpha 7R III, and I must say it's a powerhouse that perfectly marries cutting-edge technology with compact design. As a passionate photographer, I found its performance to be nothing short of exceptional, particularly in terms of space efficiency without compromising on image quality. Compact Marvel: The first thing that struck me about the Alpha 7R III is its portability. Sony has managed to pack an impressive array of features into a remarkably compact body. The camera's ergonomic design makes it a joy to handle, whether you're shooting landscapes, portraits, or anything in between. This is especially noteworthy when compared to bulkier alternatives in its class. Image Quality Beyond Expectations: What truly sets the Alpha 7R III apart is its ability to capture stunning images with exceptional detail and clarity. The 42.4-megapixel full-frame sensor produces images that are nothing short of breathtaking. Every nuance, texture, and color is faithfully reproduced, allowing photographers to create images that stand out with remarkable fidelity. Space-Saving Magic: One of the standout features of the Alpha 7R III is its efficiency in saving space without compromising image quality. The camera's advanced image compression technology ensures that the files are smaller in size, making it an ideal companion for photographers who need to manage storage space efficiently. This becomes even more significant when compared to its successor, the Alpha 7R IV. Comparative Advantage Over Alpha 7R IV: While the Alpha 7R IV boasts a higher resolution at 61 megapixels, the Alpha 7R III demonstrates that more isn't always better. The Alpha 7R III's 42.4-megapixel sensor strikes a perfect balance, delivering exceptional image quality while keeping file sizes manageable. This proves to be a significant advantage for photographers who value the convenience of smaller file sizes without sacrificing the details that matter. Versatile Performance: The Alpha 7R III impresses not only with its image quality but also with its versatile performance. The 399-point autofocus system ensures quick and precise focusing, while the 10 frames per second continuous shooting speed allows you to capture fleeting moments with ease. Whether you're shooting stills or 4K video, the Alpha 7R III consistently delivers exceptional results. Conclusion: In conclusion, the Sony Alpha 7R III is a remarkable camera that combines compact design, outstanding image quality, and space-saving efficiency. Its ability to produce breathtaking images with a smaller file footprint sets it apart from many other cameras in its class. While the Alpha 7R IV offers more resolution, the Alpha 7R III demonstrates that it's not always about the numbers; it's about achieving the perfect balance of performance and practicality. For photographers who value both quality and efficiency, the Alpha 7R III is undoubtedly a top contender.

I finally took a vacation recently and brought this an my a7 IV,. I have that gear acquisition thing. These must be model A as mine was purchased months ago. I have to admit I now feel a bit $200 poorer but I have had it for a while. The detail is absolutely mind blowing. When the a7 R V was on sale I almost went with that but for two reasons. From images I had seen online they occasionally were noiser that I thought they should be. The other reason, If I open my 42 MP image RAW file in 16 bit the PSD file is a bit over 241 MB. Saving four is a gigabyte. With the V, saving three PSDs will be over a Gigabyte. I was hesitant too because the camera was 6 years old but the A modification was three years old and helps I am sure. Not huge improvements but good ones, slightly better screen, viewfinder and firmware. Here are two images from my vacation. I was in Washington D.C. for the first time and was using the R III and the IV often together but not always, using the 35mm G Master and the 20mm !.8 G lenses. to my eye they are equally sharp. I made these with the R IIIA and the 20mm G.at the Library of Congress, the detail is superb. If you buy this camera body, think of the dollars saved that can go toward some great glass you'll the good stuff in lenses.

I have been doing photography for many years now, and I have used only a certain other company's cameras and equipment. So being my first Sony professional full frame camera. I can say that this is a fantastic camera, that takes fantastic pictures. And with the 42 megapixel sensor, you can really blow up pictures and see the fine detail in them. I couldn't see going back to any other brand but now, Especially with the huge choice of fantastic lenses for this camera.

It’s pricey, but it’s a great camera overall. I bought this with the new F4 G zoom lens 24-105mm. If you already have a favorite zoom lens, I would just get the camera body. I bought them both and wish I had only bought the camera, not that the lens is bad, it’s good, but I have plenty of comparable lenses already. But this camera takes amazing pictures. Having the 42 megapixels results in very large file sizes (if you plan on using raw) so be sure to get the 128GB memory cards. Paired with Sony’s 35mm F1.4 resulted in fantastic photos. I’m extremely happy with this camera and highly recommend it.

I was told that the Sony A7RIII is officially the best professional full-frame mirrorless camera on the market, and I certainly believe it. With it's 42-megapixel sensor and 10 FPS continuous shooting with autofocus and Dual SD card slots, how can you go wrong? The battery life is much better than it was on my previous Sony A6400 camera with it's new NP-FZ-100 battery. By the way, I paired the camera up to the new Sony FE 40mm F2.5 G Full-frame Ultra-compact G Lens, and I couldn't be happier!

Great camera. I sold the A7Rii to acquire this and I am satisfied. The focus is a lot faster than the previous model. The pics in lower light do make a difference with this one. I take action pics of people in motion in the gym. I'm not a photographer and this has all the pro photographer wants. I just need top notch quality pictures. It really makes a difference with eye detection when I want to catch a crisp picture while they're in motion. The ability to review your pics before waiting to be recorded on the sim card I feel is huge for me. I get split seconds to catch a quality pic so I need to be able to review captures right away. The touch screen is very nice to have. You tap on screen to place focus point on a face, object or the other eye if its on eye detection. If none of these matter to you then pick anything else that takes decent pictures.
