This camera shoots great video and is very good in low light. Very impressed with the capabilities. You can get a better camera but not at this price point.

Bought this as a gift for a friend on mine who is a professional. He was lamenting the cost and I told him I could get it at less than he could find it. Technically, I have NOTHING to add. He was overjoyed with it and took it out to use immediately. As I said, he is a pro. He's carrying it everywhere now, and the images he sends (he shoots raw and then doctors them) are amazing. Unless you're a pro, I'm sure there are less costly options, but if you want what the pros use, then take this one.

The best digital SLR I have ever used. Amazing latitude. Zero to little grain in very low light both for stills and video. WOW!

The Sony Alpha a7S is an high quality camera. The quality and ease of use is exceptional

I've been using Canon DSLR's (mark ii - iii) for a long time. They are incredible cameras but are a little bulky and the iso in low light isn't bad, but not excellent as we'll. This was my first Sony Mirrorless and just as credible reviews stated is amazing in low light. No comparison in my opinion for the price range. Also, with adapters, you don't need to worry about giving up your expensive canon lens sets. For the price, I feel I have never more satisfied with a camera.

I've had this a month or two now and overall this is a reasonable camera. Good form factor, image is ok, low light is excellent. You'll have to spend a lot of time in post getting the most out of it though and the crop 1.6x leaves the image very soft on such a low mp sensor. My main gripe is with the terrible back screen quality. Unless you can look in the viewfinder the whole time you need a separate monitor to get a good focus. Yes you can use the image magnification to zoom in while recording and check focus but the screen is so low res it's hardly a perk. So far I'm underwhelmed by this cameras image other than it's low light performance maybe I'll change my mind as I use it more.

What’s there to say? It’s a great cam. The MP is just fine, and the low light capabilities are exactly as advertised. I was pretty blown away that first night test.

There's a lot of negativity out there about the a7srII. After purchasing the camera I found out it was all a lot of nit-picking. The camera is amazing and any noted drawback is far less extreme as has been mentioned, the menu for example isn't that difficult or the record video button isn't hard to press, besides you can set any of the custom buttons. Bottom line, if you need a low light camera, GET THIS!

I love this camera and wish I could afford both the A7Sii AND the A7Rii, but I can't. So I returned it for the A7Rii and 42MP files. There was nothing about the camera I didn't like except the 16MP sensor. I just wanted more detail in the landscape pictures that I often take. I also have plans to make some big prints so the A7Rii is the right camera for me. If you do primarily video, the A7Sii is better.

The picture quality, ease of use is amazing. Worth the money!

I love this camera for its low light ability to capture video and photos in almost no light. The focus could be better, but not a deal breaker. If you are more into Photography I would recommend the a7iii or a7siii. I currently own this camera and a6400 for vlogging, sony rx-100va for pocket camera.

Great in low light. Built in stabilization works well.

So this experience started off a little bad, it was a miscommunication and I didn't get my camera after two weeks of purchasing it. But once having the camera it was the best camera so you can offer. Taking pictures with his camera was the best, the best picture colony, the best photography. If you're into photography just cameras perfect.

Most videos I create are in a lower light setting so I thought I'd try this camera based on it's many low light reviews. It blew me away! I own several DSLR's and I'm now switching from them to Sony.

Love the new Sony...I had the Nikon d750 and couldn't be happier with the change...I shoot all video and most of it in lower light situations it's been a game changer
