This is the best 35mm f/1.4 lens I have ever shot with, and that is comparing it to modern day Leica and Zeiss lenses, Canon and Nikon need not apply. Is it on the expensive side? Yes, but you get what you pay for. I still shoot Leica rangefinder as it is in a class by itself... not better just different. I switched from Canon EF to Sony and I am so glad I did. Sony makes smaller lighter cameras and lenses than Canon, and in my opinion, Canon lenses simply do not compare to Sony lenses. Canon is doing better these days but they still have a lot of catching up to do to rival Sony. If you spend the money for this lens (Sony 35mm f/1.4 G Master) it will hurt but not for long. The image quality will quickly stop the hurt.

My favorite focal length is 35mm but I already had the FE 35mm 1.8 so I was a bit hesitant on buying this but I went ahead and did and I don’t regret it. This lens is ridiculously sharp, lightweight and worth the money.

With its light weight and compact design- this lens is a beast. I enjoy it a lot. I love the image and autofocus I can get out of this lens when matched with my Sony a7iii. Totally recommend.

Very nice lens, sharp and easy to use, the aperture ring on the lens is a nice touch as well. I love the wide aperture for portraits and can use this for some Astro photography. A 35mm prime is not a must for everyone, especially those who prefer zoom lenses, but if you’re looking for a lens this length with a much wider aperture than you’d find in any zoom lens, this can’t be beat, as long as you can afford it.

Holy sharpness! This thing is tack sharp! I never shoot 35mm but this made me fall in love with the focal length. Great contrast and tones. The sharpness blew me away though. Worth the money if you shoot portraits.

This focal length worked out perfectly for group photos. Used it for graduation pics and came out to be a good investment. Being how crowded it was, I was able to get close to group and and fit everyone in picture compared to the 50 1.4gm i own also. I went through a lot of sony GM line. 20 g, 24gm, 35gm, 50gm 1.2, 50 gm 1.4, 85gm, 24-70gm, 70-200gm mk2 so that I can find a focal length that works for me. Everone is different, so you buy the one that fits you best. I sold all but the 70-200gm mk2 for kids sports, 50 1.4gm mostly for portraits and 35 1.4gm to be my default lens thats stays on camera since I have toddlers that I may end up shooting indoors or group pics or events. Like I said, everyone is different but this 35gm is worth it. If it wasnt for the lower aperture to shoot in low light, I would recommend a zoom like the 24-70gm mk2

Extremely sharp lens and at that focal length of 35mm, it is very versatile. Not too big or heavy by any means. 67 mm filter size which’s perfect if you already own that size.

This is by far my favorite lens. I use to use a 50mm for my studio work but this 35mm GM has definitely changed that.

Must have for any Sony Alpha!!!! I bought this lens over the Son 50mm 1.2 and I have no regrets!! Excellent quality, creamy bokeh, and lightweight

I absolutely love this lens. It’s very versatile and It stays on my camera most of the time. The aperture at f1.4 is soooo buttery smooth!!!

This is an amazing lens for both photography and video. It does have some focus breathing but GMaster quality is unmatched. Beautiful F1.4 in video!!

One of my favorite lenses for my Sony camera. Super light weight and super sharp.

Was looking at various 35mm prime lenses, including Sigma and Canon. Canon seems to have the dreamier Bokeh. After reading the reviews, this lens is supposed to be sharp at 1.4 from center to the edges. It was not wrong. For portrait shots, this is the lens to go for Sony gear! The bokeh is dreamy. You won't be disappointed. Great for portraits.

Chefs kiss. This is a perfect 35mm prime. I use it as my primary lens as it is extremely versatile. Its extremly sharp, extremely fast, and the bokeh is a cream dream. I would also consider the 24mm 1.4 if youre in the market for a prime of this apature. Both are very versatile focal lengths.

The best lens available for a prime 35, super sharp and works very well with a sony full frame.

Great for street scenes, environment and close-up portraits. High-quality images, compact. Pairs nicely with the 85GM.
