The Sony GTK-XB72 High Power Home Audio System delivers high quality audio that will fill any room in your home. It's very simple to setup, and has a variety of options, including bluetooth making it extremely easy to pair with a mobile device and enjoy your favorite playlists. The speakers produce crisp tones from lower frequencies through the high frequency ranges. I use the Sony GTK-XB72 to stream the audio from my mobile device while watching movies and even playing games and it enhances the audio experience tremendously. I would highly recommend the Sony GTK-XB72 High Power Home Audio System with Bluetooth Technology. You will definitely enjoy the immersive sound that is produced by this speaker system.

Powerful Speaker With Lots of Features

First, the speaker has great sound. The extra bass mode boosts the low range without overpowering everything else and the live mode really gives added punch and expanded sound to the music that enables it to fill a large space, indoors or outdoors. Next, this speaker is very versatile with multiple connectivity options - bluetooth, audio-in and audio-out RCA plugs, USB to play mp3/wma files and charge a device, and an FM tuner (my favorite feature for quickly turning on continuous entertainment without fiddling with my phone or other device) with adjustable antenna. Also it has a Mic line-in. The bluetooth function easily paired with my bluetooth turntable. I haven't tried the smart phone apps. The lighting effects start when the speaker is plugged in, before the power button is turned on. There is supposed to be some control over the lights with one of the apps but I wish there was an on/off switch on the speaker for the light effects.

I wanted something that could fill a shop, drowned out the tools while remaining crisp and clear. This product does a great job at that for the price tag. The Bluetooth has been flawless and connects quickly. Stays connected even outside the shop with the doors open.

    Solid speaker, great for parties!

Overall, I was fairly impressed by this speaker. There are a couple things that it does lack or need tweaking, but if you're looking for a powerful, fun, party, wireless speaker, this is definitely a good buy! Pulling the speaker out of the box, I was impressed how heavy the speaker was (27 lbs), the build quality felt very substantial. Upon plugging the speaker in, it defaults to a light demo mode where the lights on the unit flash, flicker, and fade going through a colorful demo sequence. To turn this off, you need to hold the W. Party Func button for 3+ seconds. Powering the unit on, I was able to quickly pair an iPhone over bluetooth without issue. I downloaded the Music Center app to take full advantage of the speaker as well. I tried all of the features in the app and it responded well. Turning the speaker off and on again proves to re-pair bluetooth reliably and quickly back to my phone. My initial impression of sound quality was adequate. At less than 80% volume, the speaker sounded clear and had decent quality. Above 80% you started getting into distortion territory. The Extra Bass button adds some low end, but speaker actually seemed to lack heavy bass, and the overall sound profile lacked presence and impact. If you're looking for a loud speaker that's fun at parties, this will work great, but if you're looking for a bluetooth speaker with really good sound quality, this may not be the perfect fit. There are frequency ranges that are lacking on this speaker. I did have an additional Sony bluetooth speaker, so I was able to test out the party chaining feature. It was fairly simple to pair them together, however I noticed when doing this over bluetooth, the sound quality of the bluetooth connection severely decreased. The clarity dropped a ton. This was the only feature I was disappointed on as it was heavily advertised as a great function, and the quality drop makes it unusable for someone who has any care about sound quality. Overall, a solid speaker, and a really good fit for a party environment!

Setup of initial bluetooth is straighforward and easy. The sound quality is very good especially with the extra bass functionality. This speaker is extrememly loud, with this one speaker you can throw an outdoor party with no problem. The issues I have is with the music center app, I don't like that I have to go through this app to play music via my streaming services. The FM tuner and the other inputs are nice touches which gives speaker a lot more flexibility. Also the party chain feature is cool and works well with my other sony bluetooth speakers.

This is one of the best audio systems I have ever used in my home. The sound is rich and can get quite loud when desired. The ability to connect multiple Sony BlueTooth speakers to spread out the sound works amazingly well. The FM tuner is digital, so finding the right station was simple. My wife was a little annoyed that the lights wouldn't turn off when she hit the power button, but there's a labeled button that you can long-press to turn them off. The lighting controls are easy to manipulate from the app.

The Sony XB72 is a fantastic full-size bluetooth sound system. This is not a portable speaker (despite the handles) and it weighs in at 26lb and about 25" in height. But this size and weight powers 2x 6" woofers and enough tweeters to deliver strong rich sounds with incredible bass. I love that the Sony XB72 can be positioned vertically or horizontally (there's rubber feet for each position). Bluetooth pairing was quick and the Sony XB72 also supports RCA and Microphone input. The Sony XB72 has a light array, which is not to my liking but you can turn it off. But I deducted 1 star because to disable the lights you need the (free) Sony Music Center App. I wish Sony had followed the trend on some of their small speakers and included a button on the speaker itself. You also need the Sony Music Center App to access and tune the in-built FM radio. Tip. When I first setup the speaker, I couldn't work out why all of the lights would flash when the speaker was in standby mode. If you hold the "W. Party Chain" button for 3 seconds it will turn off the lights in standby mode. The default setting for the Sony XB72 is to enter "demo" mode if you connect/disconnect power (which means all of the lights flash like you're at some dance party). Overall, love the Sony XB72.

I have been using this Sony Bluetooth audio system for about a week now, and I am enjoying it greatly. If you have the need for something like this, you likely won't do better than this unit. It is a free-standing loudspeaker weighing about 25 lbs and standing a little over two feet in height. It has a convenient carry handle at the top front. This is primarily designed as a party music speaker. It has a deep bass capability, and it has color LEDs that flash in various sequences in time to the music. The sound quality is excellent. Setup was very simple. I paired it to my smartphone in no time and was playing songs from my Youtube playlist within a minute of plugging it in and turning it on. Audio can also be input to the unit via RCA audio jacks, a flash drive connected to the included USB port, or through the included FM tuner. Functions and actions are spoken through a built-in voice, so you're informed when, for example, the Bluetooth function is connected or disconnected. When using the FM tuner, the voice states the frequency as you step though the FM frequencies until you reach your desired station. It does not have a scan function, and it steps one-tenth of a megahertz per button press, so if, for example, you're tuned in to a station at 88.5 MHz and want to move to a station at 102.5, you have to press the tune button 140 times to move through 88.6, 88.7, etc all the way to 102.5. This is a minor inconvenience given that you're not likely to change stations frequently, and it's very nice to have FM as an available audio source built directly in to the unit. Other capabilities of the unit include pairing up to three Bluetooth devices simultaneously, connecting it in a chain of up to 50 speakers (must be Sony speakers), and the ability to control it from your phone using the Sony Music Center app. I would think something like this would be of great use to student groups, clubs, and other organizations where music is needed or where there is a need to address large audiences quickly and conveniently as it's quite portable and there is no set-up required other than plugging it in and turning it on. Highly recommended.

Love my new speaker, originally I was under the impression that it was a bit smaller so when I received a big box I was very surprised! Other than that this is perfect for parties! Sound is amazing and it is portable! I love that the charger is not bulky and the speaker is not so heavy, it can be carried easily. Connecting to Bluetooth was very easy for me I had no problems. I love the lights and love the different colors. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Powerful outdoor speaker - not as great indoors

I'm a big fan of Sony bluetooth speakers. I like the Extra Bass and I'm one of the people who quite enjoy the lighting effects that are available so adding this to the line-up was nice. First off, this thing is massive. It is much bigger than it appears in photos and is probably taller than a 3 year old. Setup was super simple using my iPhone and pairing it to multiple devices was no issue. Like I said, I'm a big fan of the Extra Bass feature on Sony speakers but this one comes with a slight caveat - I wouldn't recommend using the the Extra Bass indoors. It works well outdoors but when confined indoors, the sound can come off as a little muddled. Other than pairing with a bluetooth connected device, you also have the option of using a USB stick but the awesome thing about this speaker is that you also have a tuner and it also has a built-in antenna. Overall this is a great speaker but I would definitely recommend it only for large spaces or outdoor use as even something like the XB40 can fill up a large room; alternatively the XB501G is a good alternative with Google Assistant built-in.

This new XB-72 unit is a monster! Great sound output, excellent frequency range, and good distance coverage. It's everything you could want for a large indoor or outdoor engagement where music is wanted. The only unusual properties are that this device seems confused about its identity - Is it a large Bluetooth PA-system-type unit, or is it just a really big party speaker? My verdict is its both, but more of the latter - While this new speaker has the range and sound quality (and arguably build quality) to handle larger applications, particularly with its co-pairing "party mode" which allows for multiple units and one audio source, the device is strictly designed for the consumer - Colored lights for the speaker grill and LED accents, or the standless design all lend the XB72 to instead be considered just a really large variant of the XB series - But with no battery power and a size/output jump that's significant. The biggest surprise was the lack of a tripod mount of available stand from Sony - While the speaker has feet to allow it to sit horizontally or vertically, no stand hardware exists nor can universal screw-mount tripods or other such devices be used. This might be because standard tripod mount wouldn't be enough to hold this beast. All in all, a great speaker with dependable Sony output, easy Bluetooth pairing, and helpful FM radio receiver (for certain use scenarios). b

If you like to host backyard gatherings, tailgating or picnicking... you have to check this speaker out! I was impressed with the sound and bass this Sony speaker offered. The AM/FM radio and microphone connectivity is a nice touch, however I really wanted this to be a battery operated speaker as well. It's really not for constant movement, but rather a mobile stationary speaker. Not saying this is a heavy speaker 'cause it's not, it's probably the best sounding speaker in it's field, hands down. You can download the app to change the lighting effects and also "DJ" sounds are available. It's definitely made for parties, but I use it for backyard gatherings. Daisy chaining is a great option, but this can handle great by itself. I would recommend purchasing this when it's on sale. It does have a hefty price tag for a non battery operating speaker. Thanks.

I have had this speaker for a few weeks and have played with all the features and I am pleased to say this speaker is as fun as it's loud. The NFC/Bluetooth pairing was very simple and it was quick. The sound is bass heavy but the mids/highs are not muddled and the sound quality is good. The actual features thru the fiestable app are actually pretty cool and seem like they would be a hit in a party setting. Thru the app you can sync up 2 streaming devices and go back and forth so thats a pretty cool feature that allows for multiple users to play dj. The other cool features are music effect/lighting effects that are synced to all party guests that sync the speaker to their phone via the fiestable app. Thereby allowing you to control the music/lights and actually have your phone strobe w multicolored lights synced to the music. I can see how that would be fun in a group/party setting. The handles on the speaker make it easy to move around and the weight is minimized by it's portable size and travel handles. The LED lights look very cool in the dark and make the speaker an actual fun thing to look at besides just listening to it. I couldn't find negative things to say about it because I take the sound for what it's, a loud party speaker with extra bass at a price point that is reasonable for the quality you get.

---SETUP--- The setup of this Sony speaker is quick and painless. After turning it on, the speaker is looking for a bluetooth signal and your phone or computer finds it right away. Just pair it and you're set. ---FEATURES--- The key feature of this speaker is that it has extra bass, live sound, and vibrant LED lighting. It also has a feature called 'chain,' which means that you can connect more Sony speakers with this feature over time expanding the amount of space the sound covers. ---PERFORMANCE--- The performance of this speaker is astounding. Loud but without causing distortion, you will quickly become enamored with this monster of an audio device. You can connect sources like bluetooth, a USB with an MP3 playlist in it, or even use RCA cables to mini-plug for older auxiliary type of devices. This speaker has an antenna allowing you to tune into FM radio frequencies and all features work great. ---EXPECTATIONS--- The product meets my expectations. After I connected the speaker with my phone using bluetooth, I began going down my list of favorite tunes. From heavy music like Korn and Slipknot to more mellow sounds like Mana (Spanish Rock), this speaker can handle anything you throw at it. The extra-bass button allows for a more room-filled sound without creating distortion. The live button makes everything feel more like the band it in the same room. It's hard to describe, but I preferred the live sound over the other features because it feels more immersive. You can connect a microphone and play tunes from YouTube for a great Karaoke night. ---VALUE--- The price for the speaker in terms of value is to be considered an investment into quality sound. This is especially true if you plan to buy a second one for the chain feature. You will love the portability and easy of use. ---APPROVAL--- I highly recommend this product for people who intend on having high-powered sound and provide great entertainment in a reduced space. Small businesses like coffee shops could make great us of the microphone input for karaoke nights. Family parties can be sure to have fun with the Fiestable app, as you can listen to your favorite tunes with a nice live twist.

I teach bootcamp classes every now and then, and I was using a great little P.A. speaker for my music. When that speaker finally died, I sought a replacement. This Sony speaker indeed does the trick. The set-up to my phone was seamless through Bluetooth, and within minutes of plugging in the speaker, I was hearing my playlist. The build is solid, and it is larger than I originally thought, but the extra cabin space does indeed emphasize the bass. I tested it with different types of music and all played great with no distortion, even at the highest volumes. It's also nice that it can answer calls. A little awkward at high volume, but still useful. This easily fills a large cardio room at a gym, and the light show is a solid bonus. Definitely a great party speaker, and exceeds my expectations.

Having used the much smaller Bluetooth Extra Bass speakers from Sony I thought I knew what to expect. But I was pleasantly surprised. The amount of Bass is amazing (should be with a name like Extra Bass) but the overall sound is also amazing. I'm no audiophile so I'm not the person that will list all the technical aspects. But I'm the common user...the one that just wants something that sounds good and that I'll gladly play my music on AND enjoy. This speaker represents that. I do like that there is an option to use an FM tuner that's built in the system although I'll be honest...not sure how often that would be a feature that I would use. But it's great to have just in case. The gimmicky and fun lights feature is as expected (if you're familiar from the other Bluetooth speakers by Sony that utilizes it), but of course that doesn't affect the main purpose...which is the sound output. With it being a pretty big sized speaker I do like that you have the option of using it standing up or horizontal so that it's easier to incorporate in your space. Overall, I think this speaker is definitely worth checking out. Great for everyday use as well as a great party/cookout/gathering option. And if you have any of the other Sony speakers that can utilize the chain feature you will be able to use them with this speaker.

The Sony GTK-XB72 Home Audio system brings all the right stuff to the table. The System features Bluetooth that's super intuitive and easy to connect with. It has Ambient lighting that fills the room with vibrant colors in the dark while making you feel like you're at your local night club with strobe light features. The Extra bass is a highlight of this system as it brings that extra punch to the party to get the tunes moving! I tried this system in 3 different settings: 1. Home Gym: I connected it to the Peloton Bike and was able to hear the instructors clear and crisp. I then connect my Apple iPhone X and Android tablet while being able to stream Spotify, Apple Music through the device. @@@@@@@@ It was easy to connect with the XB72 on all devices as it picked it up quickly. 2. Secondly, loved the versatility by being able to lay it horizontal or vertical. Tried it in a larger gymnasium setting and produced a lot of output. I went and connected the speaker to another Sony Speaker (connected them together wireless) and both were in sync and filled the room with tons of music and bass. 3. Utilized this in a company setting connected the laptop to as presentation was given, and videos played on it. It was loud and clear for everyone to be able to listen to. Also, I was able to connect a microphone into the speaker! 4. Lastly, Party function! Hooked up the tunes fired up the grill and let this system do all the talking! It was complimented as being one of the best systems people have heard! Neighbor did say was a little loud, but that's not a bad thing, right? The features that really stood out was all the connectivity options that connect seamlessly and fast: 1. USB Port for digital files 2. Bluetooth 3. NFC ( Near Field Communication) Overall this system makes good on all its promises of EXTRA BASS, Seamless Connection, Karaoke Function with microphone input and it even has a built in tuner!

This speaker sounds great! The Extra Bass and Live buttons on the speaker along with 7 preset EQs and the ability to define a custom EQ in the Music Center app let you customize the sound however you want. The Function button on the speaker lets you easily switch between Bluetooth, USB, FM Tuner or the rear RCA input jacks. Bluetooth standby mode automatically wakes the speaker when you connect from your device and will turn off again if the speaker isn't used for 15 minutes. I had occasional audio stutter at close range and audio would break up 15 feet away from where I charge my phone. My MHC-V21 is over 20 feet away from this spot and never misses a beat. I changed the LDAC Playback Quality within the Bluetooth Output Settings in the Music Center app to Prioritize Connection and this helped although it wasn't required with our other Sony speaker. Overall, I'm happy with this speaker, but the Bluetooth range isn't as good as our older Sony speaker. Pros: - Wireless party chain works great. I can group this GTK-XB72 with an MHC-V21 using the buttons on the speakers or using the Music Center app. I'm not able to test the add speaker function since you need two identical speakers. - The speaker, line and strobe lights are nice, Rave is my favorite light setting in the Music Center app. You can optionally use Fiestable for more fun with the lights. - Laid on the side or stood upright it switches the stereo sound automatically. - FM Tuner with a telescoping FM antenna instead of a thin flexible wire antenna. - The sturdy built-in handles make it easy to move this heavy speaker around. - Three Bluetooth devices can be connected simultaneously. - One touch NFC feature is convenient if you use Android. - Microphone input jack on the rear with a min/max dial to adjust the volume. - RCA jacks for Left and Right Input and Output connections. No mini-jack input. - USB play/charging port on the rear for a memory stick, phone, tablet or computer. - Built-in microphone for hands-free calls. Cons: - No sleep timer. - When LDAC high quality is enabled it can limit Bluetooth range. - Sometimes the party lights stay on when I power off the speaker.
