Off brands are a little slower and 1/3 the cost. But I needed it that day so now I have one. Built well and works great.

This item is truly overpriced but hey what are you going to do... take a chance with a off brand charge and ruin an $80 battery or pay the extra and be sure you have no problems. I’ve learned to buy it nice or you end up buying it twice.

Essential item for ease in charging camera battery

All of the Sony chargers I've used have worked very well. I only gave it 4 stars out of 5 because of the price - definitely would be fantastic if Sony would include this as part of the package when a new model camera takes a totally different battery & charger, but that's another story. The charger works well, and I am really happy with the new battery it works with - a real improvement over the last model.

Expensive!

Frankly, it feels like a bit of a ripoff for such a small thing, but there is little choice if looking for Sony products to support Sony cameras. It does seem to work well and has a long cord for convenience.
