This is a low profile, quiet, easy to use Blu-Ray player that is forward thinking- it has 4K upscaling for those with a 4K TV. It also plays back normal blue rays and DVDs with ease and with fast startup times, and handles 3D playback well. It has many of the standard apps for streaming and can use Ethernet wired or wifi wireless connections to access the streams. It's a great disk player overall.

This is the Best 4K Streaming Blu-ray Player, at the BEST price. It could improve most streaming Videos to almost 4K quality with it’s special hardware/software. You can watch movies with Close Captions, because there are a few DVD’s that doesn’t include subtitles. This also includes subtitles and fine audio options by pressing just a key, or at Menu. You can use either Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable, which is faster, and more reliable, but just Wi-Fi is good enough. Also it comes with Bluetooth options. You can configure your Audio options for the Best CD and Blu-ray, DVD sound you prefer. Refer to the owner’s manual. It plays CD’s, DVD’s and Blu-ray’s, including 3D Blu-rays, for a 3D HDTV. You can watch in a 720p, 1080p, or in a 4K High Definition TV, for much better image. This player, can be configured to convert your streaming to near 4K quality, with a 4K TV. Your DVD’s will be also upscaled to near Blu-ray quality. Possibly also have a great image in a 4K TV. I’m NOT quite sure how it’ll do with a 4K TV, I still need to save for a good one (SONY 4K), from Best Buy, possibly later, so, I can’t tell you sincerely everything with a 4K. Please refer to the specifications in Best Buy website under this player or anyone you prefer. It’s not supposed to play 4K Blu-ray’s Discs, only upgrade the streaming, but before buying, I read somewhere that it may play 4K discs, but not with same quality. DISCLAIMER: please be ADVISED by Best Buy Geek Squad, in case you want 4K streaming, and can’t afford 4K PLAYER. Never play 4K Discs on a normal Blu-ray player, unless you’re sure the specifications and Manual and Professional Geek Squad tell you is OK to do that in the specific device. 4K players cost more, if you want it, and can afford it, great. I can’t tell neither if 4K players can Upscale lower quality streaming to near 4K but I assure you the quality will be just fine. In order to keep having a good sight and healthy Vision, you'll need to watch your TV at proper distance, unless you need bigger screen to see better. So, common High Definition TV’s, 4K, and now 8K are just fine to you, and you may notice the difference with bigger screens or being very close to the TV, but the image is good for your sight. So, this Blu-ray do have the best features I wanted and most people may like, at the best price, unless you just need a normal Blu-ray a little bit cheaper, or you want to play 4K Discs, and have better resolution audio, like with other SONY models. Remember to be advised by Geek Squad, if you can only afford this model, but want to play 4K Discs, they may give you an honest answer, they’ll do research or they already know well all Best Buy Electronics, they’ll tell you if it also plays 4K Discs, besides 4K streaming upscale. We had to purchase new DVD player as our broke after years of use. Looked at all the others & this is the one to get! It has all the features you want and it has built in Wi-Fi so you don't need a RJ-45 cable or if you have a jack near by your TV set you can still use the RJ-45 cable. Easy to set up & easy to use with the remote control and it has all the Apps you need to watch your favorite programs. We use it to watch You-Tube videos! You will not be disappointed! It has the 1080 -4K Upscale which is just beautiful, especially on our modest TV set!

My wife and I are enjoying using our new Sony BDP-S6700 Blu-ray DVD Player. It is high quality, easy to use, small, and reasonably priced. Best Buy helped me chose this player, the best choice for us!

This is an easy to use Blu-ray player that does a fine job of producing an upscale signal and image on our 65" Sony TV. The pricing is fair and competitive. It is a smart device and can help access a number of apps such as YouTube, Netflix and Prime.

I've only had this for a few days..Seems like a really nice blu ray player. It upscales the dvds and to me it really looks good. It has built in WiFi. I have a older LCD TV in my bedroom that is not a smart TV and I wanted to hook it up so I can go onto You Tube. It works great with You Tube..I haven't tried the other apps yet. It's a small player doesn't take up much room. I do not have a sound system to hook into. I'm happy with it.

I did not have time to research DVD players because I needed to find a birthday present and quickly, so I found the cheapest Sony unit available and then picked the one just above it in price and features. Well, I lucked out this time because not only does this play older DVDs and upscale them to look better, it plays Blu-Rays and also hooked up to my Wifi and now plays my YouTube and Hulu feeds, as well as other apps that I have not tried out yet. This is great fun, and it's tiny.

This is a very nice little 3D Blu-ray player. I haven’t had any problems with it. It is a tiny little thing, which is fine, as it works just fine. It has a very small footprint. I wouldn’t mind if the remote was a little bigger to fit my big hands, but it’s big enough, I guess. The buttons don’t light up so if you’re in a dark room you’ll need a flashlight to see what button to press. I’ve noticed some reviews say it won’t play 4K DVDs. I don’t want to say they’re wrong, but when I put in the only 4K DVD I own it had no problem playing it. I bought the 3D version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the box says it’s mastered in 4K. That might be only the 2D disk, but I tried playing both the 2D and the 3D blu-ray disks and had problem with either one. I don’t care much about 4K anyway. I just care about 3D and this player plays 3D just fine. Certainly the price is right. It's very affordable. Now that no one will be making any more 3D TVs or 3D DVD players in the foreseeable future, it seems like a good time to get one before they’re all sold out. You might want to consider getting a “region-free” player though instead of this model. It seems like fewer DVDs are being released in 3D, but it is more popular overseas. However many foreign DVDs won’t play on a standard US DVD player. If you find in the future that you have to buy your 3D DVDs from the European market, you may find that you'll need a region-free player.

The footprint of this player is so small. The ability to unplug power from the rear of the player makes placing and routing power / data cables easy. The upconvert of lesser resolution dvd's is remarkable. I have had this player for approx 3 weeks. To date, the only downsize is you need the remote to control the player for anything other than power or ejecting/loading dvd's.

I recommend this blu ray player. I also think the DVD quality is good. I like that the player is small and does not take up space. I also use it to play Netflix and it works fine. It was easy to set up for Netflix and to use DVD/ Blu Ray. I don’t know if it has Disney +, so please be careful if you use this service. The remote is small and works fine. I feel you have to point the remote directly at tge player for response, no complaints. It is a fine player, met all my expectations.

Set up was super easy. #1 Linked the Built In Wifi to my wireless net work #2 Upgraded the Firmware Wirelessly #3 Connected the BLU-Ray Player to my 4-K Sony TV #4 1080-P Blu Rays were Upgraded to 4-K #5 Regular DVDs were Upgraded to 1080 at 24 frames per Second #6 Connected my Pandora account to the Blu-Ray player. It all works. If you keep all of your components the same : TV, Sound Bar, and Blu Ray player the same everything will work Perfectly. I am happy with my purchase.

The Sony BDP-S6700 is a very user friendly player with 4K upscaling and built in Wi-Fi. Great size and attractive.

I'm one of the few remaining people in America who doesn't have a Smart TV in our living room. Since our TV is still functional, and we're not ready to upgrade the TV, I opted for this Blu-Ray player. I couldn't be happier! The price was great and it had all the requisite features. While I don't have any review on the 4K upscaling, the picture is great and I love that I can stream almost anything through this machine...even receives a feed from my phone through our WiFi! When the TV gives out, I'll buy a Smart TV and this wonderful player will be relocated to the bedroom non-Smart TV. Buy this, you won't be sorry!

1/3 of the size of the unit it replaced. I absolutely love the ease of setting it up and the remote control is a big improvement over the past units. Worked flawlessly.

If you have a collection of BluRay discs (non-4K), but you have a 4K TV, this is a great DVD player to purchase. It upscales old BluRay discs and they really look crisp. The device has apps for streaming, but honestly, you'd be better doing that through your TV directly or on a Roku, etc. If you use this for purely for upscaling old DVDs, it's an affordable option. I use it on a Sony TV as well, so the TV remote can control the DVD player and it's quite seamless.

Wow were we surprised! What excellent video quality. Our old DVD's are clearer than the Blue Rays were on our old Blue Ray player. Super easy to install. Linked up to WIFI effortlessly. We only have 12Mbps DSL but it streams Netflix and Amazon movies flawlessly. We haven't tried the Bluetooth connection yet but as soon as we get a blue tooth headset I am sure that will be a simple connection too. This has to be one of the best purchases I have made this year.

Has terrific picture quality. Sony smart interface is better and faster than the Samsung TV it's connected to. Footprint is small. Remote is functional, but I like them longer for ease of no-look use. A screen would've been nice, but understand it probably keeps cost down. Upgrades everything you already own to 4k, and whose going to shell out for a 4k disc these days anyways (you can stream everything); save the coin and skip that.

Easy to set up, works very well with my 4K TV. Have not yet tried Blueray disc, it plays DVDs well. Streaming also works well.

Purchased this so my wife could watch "Yellowstone" Blu-rays in her sewing room. Works like a charm -- loads quickly, crystal-clear picture, never any skips or glitches. A bonus is that the Sony remote for her TV executes most of the Blu-ray's commands as well. Nice compact size. Easy connection and setup.
