I bought this because it was fairly cheap. I have a collection of dvds and Blu-ray’s because im old school. I like to have a physical copy so if my internet goes out for whatever reason i can still watch something.

I had a Sony DVD player before, but this is my first player that is 4K. It works great is easy to set up and the price was exceptional.

This blu ray player is one of the best I've ever owned. It's easy to use and the quality is great.

I needed a Blu-ray player last month when my Samsung player, which had been an absolute gem for five years, suddenly went haywire with endless rebooting. Learned a couple of days later that several models of Samsung players suddenly starting doing that in this and several other countries, with no fix in sight. So I bought an LG player to replace it. It worked just fine, but I wound up returning it. I have far more DVDs than Blu-rays and the standard-definition DVDs looked OK to decent on the LG, but not as good as on my previous player. So I went back to the Best Buy website, saw that this Sony -- a brand that I trust -- upscales DVDs (and Blu-rays too). So I bought this player and am pleased. The upscaling makes DVDs look pretty darn good and Blu-ray discs look outstanding. Apps on the player are working well too. I highly recommend this Sony to anyone who has a 1080p full HD TV or wants a great player that will upscale DVDs and regular Blu-rays for one's ultra HD 4K TV.

We were looking for a replacement but needed it to play regular DVD and Blu-ray. This unit filled all of the requirements that we needed. It was a very good unit.

This up-scaling Blu-Ray works perfectly with my 55 Inch XBR55x850-D It up-scaled Blu-Ray movies to 4-K and DVD's to 1080 quality. Technically the unit can also play 3-D movies but since my TV does not have the capacity to show 3-D, I can not disclose the quality of the 3-D. I would recommend this to a friend.

Got a new TV so needed a way to enjoy our movies. Found this and it was reasonable in price, good pictures and easy to operate!

Overall small size, very good performance with lots of smart functions, plus WiFi etc. Great Sony value! highly recommended

Great DVD player, easy to install and operate, great picture great price

Great player for the money if you don't need true 4K UHD playback. Compact, fits in smaller cabinets. When used with a proper control system or custom remote, it has discrete on and off commands, which is a huge plus. The only real ding is it needs the occasional reboot if it's left to sit for a while between uses.

Have enjoyed this 4K player with upscale of bluray movies. Highly recommend. Easy to install.

Blu-ray was very easy to set up and use. Automatic update functionality ensured it was running latest software. Great for the price.

Picture and sound output (to Yamaha reciever) are great. We sit about 10 feet away from unit and hear no disc noise. It's plastic and very lightweight, but doesn't feel brittle, but it's definitely not the sturdiest build. Great unit for the price!
