This Sony Blu-ray is very simple to operate, yet-- is quite feature-laden and with many available apps. Most are useful, which helps with it's intuitive actions. Definitely a great buy for me, as a great upgrade to my HDTV.

This was my first Blu-ray player purchase. In the past, I've always had a DVD player. The difference in quality and the features that this blu-ray player has to offer make it a very desirable addition to my home electronics. Using this Blu-ray is like seeing Avitar for the first time.

I'm not that technical, but i do love this blu-ray player. We've used it for blu-rays, Web surfing, and access to Hula. All easy. The only thing that we haven't liked is the tedious way of typing in items using the onscreen "characters"... We're going to get another one for rental unit.

My smart TV was set up by GEEK Squad to operate through my surround sound receiver. The TV can receive a WI FI signal from my router so I thought I would be able to stream movies/TV shows through the TV. There was one problem. The video would display but there was no audio. This is because my satellite TV feed goes through the receiver to the TV. There is no audio out connector on the TV that would allow it to send the audio portion of the WI FI feed back to the receiver. The TV cannot be toggled back and forth between its internal speakers and the receiver for the surround sound. I called the toll free number for GEEK Squad support and was told that I would need a device such as a smart DVD player to receive the WI FI signal and run it through the surround sound receiver. This did work but not reliably as the DVD player has a small antenna and the signal from my internet router was not strong enough to support the streaming media. I contacted my internet provider and the recommended solution was to move the router. A tech will be coming to my home to do that.

My 3rd and last review was the purchase of the Sony ( keep the same brand all around to avoid devices not reading another properly ). The Blu-ray player was smaller than I had expected. The player did upscale regular Blu-ray disc into a slight 3D picture. I'm not sure whether it was my original custom settings on the TV or if this player actually did the up-scaling but regardless, extremely happy with the quality of viewing and the simple operation of the player. The complete package Sony all the way 55" 4K Ultra HD Smart 2160p TV, Sony 2.1 Channel Soundbar and the Sony Upscaling 4K Wi-Fi Blu-ray player will be enjoyed until the next breakthrough in viewing technology

Works well. Feature rich. Compact size. Connections: HDMI out, Digital Coax (S/PDIF audio), Ethernet LAN, WiFi. Uses outboard power supply. No display or transport controls on unit - must use included remote to operate.

Nice player, picture looks good, streaming & wilfi built in, loaded with lots of good online streaming apps, used just a few times but like it so far, easy to use remote

I love this player! I don't know if it's the TV or the Blu-ray player, but the concert video I play while I clean looks so much clearer than it did before we upgraded everything. This Blu-ray player doesn't take up much space and looks really good with all our other components.

I bought this player to take advantage of the 4K LG TV I got last December. I know that Samsung has introduced their new 4K unit for $399 but my TV didn't come with HDR since it wasn't available yet. I have watched several movies since I upgraded my receiver to 4K pass through and the picture quality is as good I could expect without pro calibration and having HDR. For the price of the player, you can get several movies to add to your library instead of shelling out the $399 for the Samsung unit unless you have HDR then it might be worth getting. I would recommend this player for anyone with a 4K set without HDR to get a near 4K picture with your movies.

Best blu-ray player for the price. Like all other bluray players it has outstanding picture quality, but unlike others, this thing is fast! If you hate waiting for your disc to load and play or waiting for the apps (like Netflix) to play, buy this player!

Video quality and upscaling is excellent. I also like that I can control my Sony tv (with the blue ray remote) without any additional configuration or pairing.

No problem connecting to WI FI, all the apps work.4 k up scaling gives a fantastic picture including 3d. Easy use to smart phone control. Best Blu Ray player I have ever purchased.

Device has a small footprint, easy to operate, connects to Netflix flawlessly and easy to read /operate remote. Price point a little high but overall, an excellent product

This player took some of our older DVDs and really UPPED the picture! Can't find a copy of The Abyss in blue ray but this player almost makes it look like it is! Very clear picture, super crisp. With regular blue ray movies, really adds theater quality! Love this player!

Nice and compact and easy to use. Great blu ray, works fantastic, picture is great. it is low cost and works great. It might be small in size but it's feature rich.

I bought a cheaper one for my room and I wish I had bought 2 of these. Work great with my other Sony products. One remote turns on the tv and player. No issues with it.

Great quality for a very small player. You see a small improvement when upscaling but not much.

We are very pleased with our new 3d bluray player. It has excellent streaming and moves quickly through menus. It plays many different file types without hesitation. Much needed upgrade that didn't disappoint.

I was needing to replace an older bluray player and recently purchased a new 4K TV. After going through several reviews this model seemed to meet my requirements, I have been very satisfied with the purchase!

Easy to use and fast. The interface is much nicer than other brands and offers more for the money. Great player buying a second one for our bedroom. Sony makes nice stuff
