Great net media server, awesome upscaling - ok, not an Oppo unit but for $99, superb. Just an all around great device for the money.

Easy to connect and use. I've had no issue with my wifi staying connected. Plenty of apps on the system to be able to watch movies.

This unit is great if you need to add full functionality to an older TV set that doesn't have any form of streaming capability. I have a modern 4k set and needed something to watch DVD/Blu-ray's on my TV...all of which look fantastic! I also use this to read movies & music off of a USB San-disk memory stick. Starts up fast and haven't had a problem. Up conversion looks good! I don't use it for the streaming services (netflix/hulu/etc) but it seems to go through the startup and access fairly quickly when using them apps. Haven't used the streaming PlayStation service but this unit works with that if you need it. Simple remote to control in dark (would be better if lit up or glowinthedark painted. Very simple operation. Would buy again.

Small and compact blue ray player that upgrades to 4K. Works perfectly with my 70 inch 4K Sony television. Great picture and sound.

We are new to the Blu-ray technology, and this player is simple, easy to use and install, with clear picture and great wi-fi enabled features.

The upscaling is awesome. The built in apps are so convenient. Price is a great deal.

I bought this Blu-ray player to replace an older model I purchased 6 years ago. I was surprised to find that this unit was less than a quarter of the size of the one it was replacing. I like that it doesn't take up much space on my console. The videos load and play quickly, and the picture quality is excellent. We've had some problems with older DVDs not playing or stopping in the middle of the movie on the older unit, but not on this one. None of the Blu-ray discs had problems playing in this one. I did initially have a problem downloading latest software update using my WiFi connection, but quickly resolved the issue. We've also used our Netflix & Amazon Video account via this unit, it works great as well. Nice!

This is a really great system. Lots of features for entertainment. Easy to connect and perform set up. Wi-Fi works wonderfully and the system is easy to navigate. Sony offers many good quality products and this one is no exception. It is also a light weight unit that is small, so no need a large amount of space. The system is also reasonably priced.

If you plan to eventually get a 4K or already have a 4K, then this is what you will need to properly view your programs. Also, if you have a TV with HDMI but no smart features, then this player comes with wifi and smart features to make your TV just as smart as the regular modern smart TVs. You can even attach a USB memory stick in the front to view your pictures or compatible movies.

This is a great dvd player. We upgraded from a standard dvd player when we purchased a 4K tv. Didn't want to have to buy all new blu-ray dvds so this seemed like a good option. It really does seem to deliver near blu-ray quality with non-blu-ray discs. Very compact design, very easy to use. Very quick set up although the wireless part didn't connect - we had trouble with the little menu and getting the correct passwords put in before it timed out. Don't need that part anyway.

Ok, First I agree the player has the aesthetic appeal of a scotch tape dispenser however does it deliver in the picture department. YES! Upscales Blu Rays to another level. The clarity and detail is amazing. Very easy to use. I personally miss the digital display in front of the device. This one has none. The positive is that you dont see the distracting read only what is on the screen. Sound coming out of my surround system is better technology included in this player. Great buy....

I was a little skeptical when I saw how small this unit was but after connecting it and easy set up, it works great! Excellent video with 4K upscaling and audio is great too. 3D on this unit paired with my new 75" Sony 4K UHD TV is much better than on my old Panasonic plasma with Panasonic Blu-ray player. For $99 on sale, it's a lot of technology for a very modest price.

Good performance for the price. Very light, small. Hope the quality holds together. So far, so good. Blue Rays play incredible.

Purchased this on sale in combination with a new Sony TV. Works seamlessly with TV because same manufacturer. In summary it was cheaper, smaller and works in tandem with Sony TV than other brands so you can not go wrong with this purchase. Have had no issues with device at all and set up was very easy.

Had it for about 2 months to go along with a Samsung 4K television. No problems with it. When I turn it on, it takes a few seconds to recognize there is a disc in the player or that there is an external source connected. Not a complaint, just an observation. The best thing I discovered was that I can plug an external hard drive into the USB port on the front and access pictures, music, and video from it. Unfortunately, it doesn't recognize the lower quality .mov files from my older Sony Cybershot camera. The video from the newer Sony Cybershot looks fantastic. It's very cool to be able to display vacation pictures and videos on the tv - reminds me of the old days of vacation slides but without the hot bulb and windy drone of the slide projector! The reason I gave it 4 stars is because I wish that it would display videos and pictures within the same folder at one time - you have to pick which media you want to display at the beginning before navigating through the folders. If you want to change the media being displayed, you have to navigate back to the device that is plugged in. Also, the way the folders are displayed is different for videos vs. pictures vs. music. One format displays full folder names, the other truncates the folder names in the list. I also wish it displayed a visualization-type screen when playing music so as to decrease the chance of burn-in (thinking of the OLED tvs).
