No real hard set up process. The quality of the picture display is amazing. I highly recommend this unit for it's ease of set up, and the enjoyment of the picture even from older DVD's.

The picture on my 4k tv looks good using old DVDs. Also, Sony's remotes know other connected components, meaning the volume control on the Blu Ray player works with the sound system and tv. TV remote pauses the Blu Ray. Awesome.

Great player but will NOT play actual 4k dvds

I ended up buying a true 4k player and using this player in a different room with a regular tv. This player has all the apps you'd want.

Up converts Blu-ray movies nicely on my 4k tv. The small size allows this to fit anywhere discreetly. A great upgrade if you're in the market for a new Blu-Ray player.

This unit covered that need, but also has the streaming capability that adds a big dimension to its flexibility. The unit has a good quality of picture and is fairly straight forward to operate.
