TV Rocks - Sony APPS don't!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome picture, but not a very "smart" TV. You cannot sort, and there is no way to search apps, so you have to browse through 100s of miscellaneous junk. There's no rhyme nor reason to how they are organized. This is frustrating for dyslexic people, like myself, who prefer to view things ABC, 123. Also, there is no internet browser. I waited months to write this review, hoping that an update would correct these issues. No more Sony for me, until their developers write the simple code to fix this.

Great tv at a great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The tv is probably as good as you can get for the price. It is my first hdtv, so sometimes non-hd images are not as sharp as they could be, but the hd stuff is pretty good.

BAD CHOICE
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The store sales person recommended this TV and I made the mistake of not trusting my research and judgement and purchased this TV over the Vizio 55" HDTV. I took the Sony home and tried to set it up with all my internet accounts - HULU, NETFLIX, AMAZON PRIME and I could not get it to work with ANY of them. Their menus and set up instructions were too complicated and not intuitive. It couldn't find my WIFI and SONY product support was the WORST (except for SAMSUNG!). I took this TV back within 2 hours of buying it and exchanged it for a bigger better TV. The store personnel at customer services were great!

It's a t.v
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this tv for a week and happy with so far. I was back and forth with this and the Samsung 6300 with the micro dimming can pull anyone in with the contrast it shows. I'm sure that's why Vizio so hot! Average picture quality with a bright screen, although the M series is worth a look if you're on a budget. I had both sets almost side by side in my home and that's the best place if you ask because after all this where you'll be watching this, right? Set-up was easy for both and was bit more seamless with the Sammy. Afterwards the difference in edge-lit as with Sony and micro dimming with Samsung was noticeable. Red is a crucial color to a tv. IMO the Samsung had exaggerated color pallet especially the red which made a difference in skin tone as well. On the other hand with dark scenes the 6300 has deeper blacks that further helped by the micro dimming. I was easlily drawn to the Samsung. I wish that Sony had more punch to their tvs but the detail that was on display is pretty noticeable and that's where Sony makes their name. Very accurate detail and colors was on tap. X-reality only enhanced my experience. Like I said I like punchy displays so I started messing around in the settings. I don't really go too high on sharpness because that tends to decrease the motion clarity and motion clarity was a little better on the Sony even with 60hz against the supposedly 120hz native in the 6300. Samsung model 7150 was the tv to have, possibly the last of the best of 1080p of our time who knows. Anywho, I started adding more color and the way Sony injects the color to the tv was masterful compared to the 6300 which was odd and artificial, almost highlighter like. I guess bright colors are a gimmick a lot of folks bite on especially if you're in a store in front 10-20 tvs. I know that's what I did... Sony offers Triluminous color but not in this tv. I expected the lack of feature would hamper the colors but not at all, live colors. I admit there is a little bit haziness to picture but I can live with that. All tv has their cons. A lot companies let defects pass through quality control. I was 2 for 2, both the Sony and Samsung had a dead pixel which isn't all that rare but that's technology for you. When it comes down to streaming and some other "smart" capabilities the Samsung had edge do to the quad processor in the Samsung, not even close. Even when you're turning the tv on the Sony has a delay which is the power up period, can be annoying but again, I can live with it. You gotta think Samsung produces some impressive smart phone and I would think that this is a carry over from that to their tvs. Sound quality I would give it to Samsung. For 200-250 less for the Sony versus the Samsung I wouldn't minding investing in a sound bar. I can watch tv but watching features doesn't do much for me so I'll stick with the Sony! Picture quality a 4.5 stars, pretty good for a budget tv; smart capabilities 3.5 so that's my 4stars...

Uber easy to install and set up. Great picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only issue I've had is the volume on one of the channels is super loud. Not sure that's the television's fault though. Otherwise, love the tv.

Nice TV and a good value.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall a good TV, and typical SONY quality. Areas to improve sound is very low volume for a 48" TV, information on adding apps for Internet streaming is simply silent like the sound system.
