However, we sincerely apologize that you are now experiencing issues with the audio cutting in and out at the beginning of commercials or programs. This is certainly not the intended experience, especially with a Sony BRAVIA setup.

It's excellent that you have already started with updates, reboots, and contacting our Sony BRAVIA Support team. That is the correct action, as this intermittent cutting can sometimes be related to the digital handshaking or audio format changes when content switches.

Please continue to work with our support team—they are dedicated to diagnosing the root cause and providing a resolution, whether it requires a specific setting adjustment or further troubleshooting.

Here is the information you need regarding your setup:

The remote's primary functions with your Sony 50" X85J TV are typically handled through HDMI Control (CEC), allowing you to use your TV remote for basic soundbar functions like power on/off and volume control.

To ensure this is working:

-The soundbar must be connected to your TV's HDMI eARC/ARC port.

-The "Control for HDMI" setting must be enabled on your soundbar. You should find this in the soundbar's settings, typically under HDMI Settings.

The dedicated soundbar remote is mainly for advanced soundbar features (like sound modes or detailed settings) that are not part of the basic CEC controls. You generally will not be able to use the soundbar remote for full TV control.

Regarding your second concern, you can connect your WH-L600 headphones to your X85J TV either via HDMI or using the headphone cable.

Important Note: Your TV cannot output sound simultaneously through both the soundbar and the headphones. You will need to select one output at a time.

To help with your karaoke needs, we recommend the Sony SRS-XG500; it is a highly portable, lightweight "boombox" style speaker (approx. 12.3 lbs) that features a dedicated microphone/guitar input with its own volume knob, making it perfect for singing along to YouTube. If you prefer a more traditional upright party speaker, the SRS-XV500 also offers excellent karaoke features with Echo and Key controls on the rear panel, though it is slightly heavier at about 24.7 lbs.
