This soundbar sounds awesome! The audio is clear, loud, and really improves the TV experience. Voices are easy to hear, and movies feel much more immersive. Setup was quick and simple. I’m very happy with the sound quality and would definitely recommend it.

This sound bar is everything that the Best Buy associate said it was. The sound is outstanding and the ability too select the different sound fields is a testament to its versatility. All in all this is one of the best eletrinics purchases we have ever made.

Paired with the Theater Bar 8, RS5 surrounds, and SW5 subwoofer. An amazing Sony setup! The sound field it creates in the room is wonderful. Looks good underneath the 77" Bravia 8.

Great Sound, good voice synching, great to be able to control it from the TV screens, and bass is so good you don’t need a sub for most rooms. Only thing I don’t like is that the Xfinity remote doesn’t seem to like to control the sound bar consistently, and there is no visual of the sound level on the TV screen if you use the Xfinity remote. Shoudl be better integrated.

This is a very diverse sounding bar. It does a great job of being loud, rich with different sounds and a deep bass. It does an excellent job of highlighting the dialogue in shows, so you can better understand what it being said without having to constantly adjust the volume. I have not tested it on it's own, but have it paired with the SW5 subwoofer. I have been very pleased with the result. Setup is not difficult and the app is pretty straightforward. It is a premium product and it is on par with my Sonos Arc set up.

Sounds great in the store but isn't loud enough at home and seems to have no bass. A technician is coming back to my house to look at it.

Amazing sound quality in conjunction with my Bravia 8II tv. The Bravia Connect app is user friendly. This unit replaces the HT-A5000 that I previously purchased.

Total sound immersion! Sound comes for multiple directions and the 3D excuse amazing. Plenty of power to add multi dimension sound. Especially when pair to Sony’s bass and rear speakers.

The product is great / I bought an open box excellent but it did not come in as such. Item is missing the instructions, and missing the correct cable to plug into the wall. So had to go out and buy one. I do believe that Best Buy doesn’t take the time to really look when they put an Excellent open box sticker on it. More fair and should have been much cheaper, especially missing the cable that is needed for it to work. Another thing, you should really take out the batteries from the remotes before shipping, one battery had some build up.

Amazing soundbar! Works great with Sony Tv's. I paired this sounbar with the SA-SW5 subwoofer and SA-RS5 rear speakers. The whole system together produces outstanding surround sound. 360 spatial audio is top notch.

Fantastic Soundbar, works and sounds well on its own without a sub. Still want a sub, don’t get me wrong, but it stands out on its own. Worth the investment for a modular sound system I can build over time for my home theatre.

I am a music lover who recently replaced the Denon Home Soundbar 550 and matching subwoofer with the Bravia Theatre Bar 8 and SA-SW5 Subwoofer. I purchased the Theatre Bar 8 from my local Best Buy but had to order the SA-SW5 online, but it was on my front porch 2 days later. The Sony soundbar and sub absolutely destroys the pricier Denon in every area except hi-res stereo music playback. The Denon is a 2.1 soundbar and while providing better mid-range and tighter bass for streamed music from Amazon Music HD, Apple Music and SiriusXM, dialogue was muddy and frequently unintelligible, making watching my favorite programs or movies a chore. The Sony does an admirable job with hi-res music and is a pleasure to listen to without ear fatigue, plus, it provides a much wider 2.1 soundstage and absolutely kills on all movie soundtracks with their various codecs. It will shake the furniture and rattle windows if required with the SA-SW5 Sub and the center dialogue channel is the best I have heard on any soundbar in its price range. No more of my wife and I looking at each other constantly during a movie and asking, "What did he/she say"? The Dolby Atmos adds excellent height effects as well. I'm extremely happy I made the switch.

The bar 9 is a very good sound bar if you’re looking to be truly immersed in what you’re watching. I do recommend if you’re buying this soundbar to purchase the rear speaker and sub. The rear virtual speakers that Sony advertises can lack or not be heard at all depending on the room layout. If I could give this bar a rating from 1/10 I would rate it a 7 due to the lack of clarity when listening to music or watching movies with sonys spatial 360 sound.

Best Sony Soundbar I’ve owned! Upgraded to this soundbar from at Sony AT-5000. This sound bar is incredible! I didn’t think it would sound better but I was pleasantly surprised. Easily paired with my Sony Subwoofer and Sony TV, home theater experience is stellar!

Great sound. We tested it compared to the sound on the 65 inch Bravia, and while the TV on its own had a good sound, this system really produced better sound, especially for music or cinematic experience.
