Coming from a sound bar to this is like night and day. Vocal clarity has improved tenfold. The sound is pretty clean and even. For the price you can’t beat it. The unit looks awesome without the grill cover.

As I continue to upgrade my system I look for quality and price. This speak is working well in both. I will get the matching speaks for my Atmos system as I can afford them. I have never been disapointed with Sony.

I bought this to bring dialogue back from the front L/R speakers back to the center of the soundstage. I think it is the perfect center channel for small-medium systems, and it is very sleek. I have it in a small compartment in my TV stand, and it blends so well guests don’t even see it. Everyone is very surprised by the sound it produces. If you don’t have a subwoofer this center channel puts out a decent amount of bass.

I bought this along with the two floor standing speakers, the matching surround speakers, and with 2 powered subs.....they look great, and sound great, and were VERY affordable, and they made my Home Theater system sound just they way I wanted it too.....I could not be happier....

This speaker was a great final edition to my Sony core series surround system. The description isn't very good, but the center has two woofers, and one tweeter. Everything about it says one woofer, but it has two. Solid case with great tone. This speaker really centers the vocals and makes them stand out. I paired this with two core floor speakers and two bookshelf speakers for surround back. I was planning on getting a sub, but these have the ability to shake the floor the way it is.

We love this speaker, it is great for the size and price. Great for movies and hearing what is said in addition to great music. We are very happy with our purchase. We placed it behind our tv on a tv stand and that set-up works well.

Quality Sony center speaker. Very easy to use and setup. Will work well with any receiver and definitely provides definitive sound that you will be looking for. Recommend for purchase.

This is a great center speaker. The voices are clear, useful for when watching movies. The volume and bass are loud, for when you just want to crank up that Justin Bieber song.

Great center speaker without crushing the bank. This was an upgrade from a smaller old insignia speaker. Wow what a difference! We paired them with a Onyko NR696 , we formerly had a Sony Receiver. This speaker paired outstandingly! High recommended

This is my first experience with center channel and 5.1 surround sound. Yeah, I know, welcome to the 21st century. The SSCS8 is paired with 4 Sony SSCS5 boookshelf for the front and surrounds, 2 Sony SACS9 subswoofers, and driven by a Sony STR-DA5400ES receiver fed with the 5.1 signal via optical from a Sony smart TV. I don't know how much more "matched" this setup could be. The SSCS8 does what is asked of it as a center channel. The dialog is clear and accurate from the two center seating positions. It does not reproduce bass well but it is not asked to do that. If you are pairing it with the SSCS5s and a sub and have reasonable expectations for a $100 speaker, then you won't be disappointed.

Excellent center sound for the price point. I'm writing this after a year of owning, and I am very happy with the Sony speakers, including this one, I purchased last year. Very impressive sound. I am not disappointed.

I had previously been using an ancient Tannoy PBM 6.5 monitor as my center channel and I wanted something that sounded less flat but would fit onto my desk. This Sony speaker fit my size requirements and makes for a better center speaker than my old solution. The environment I'm using it in is in my home office desktop setup, so not much space and I'm sitting pretty close to it (about 4') so it's power handling is plenty since I don't need to crank it.

Submersive sound quality. Clear, easy set up, and worth while addition to a sound system.

I get the sound of the voices during movies is very clear now. It works great in my 25' X 15' media room. It works great with the 5.1 surround that I hooked it up to. It is what I wanted out of a center speaker.

Very good center channel speaker. Replaced a Polk center speaker. Solved the problem of low volume on center channel compared to rest of speakers even after calibration.

Sounds good. I'm returning because the Sony 590 receiver I bought doesn't have enough power to bring out it's true power. I'll just rock out with my 2 CV 120's. 12 inch 3 way. I may buy it again later on purple Tuesday. Maybe uncle Joe will send us more checks and make more comments like, " Poor kids are just as smart as white kids."

Great match for my Sony Core towers. Vocals are crystal clear, wish Sony would have matched the woofers in my towers, nevertheless a great center channel and purchased at a bargain holiday price.

Sony makes a great sounding speakers and good value at a reasonable price. The Sony Core Series fits my budget. I have 4 bookshelves, the center and the subwoofer. What more could you ask for?

My husband and I needed a center channel speaker, as for many years we used a basic speaker for the center channel. This speaker made all the difference to our sound system for movies and other entertainment. Great sound at a low price.
