Many customers are impressed with the sound quality, saying that it holds at different volume levels and is better than other brands. Excellent Speakers for the Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these speakers for the library, so I decided not to spend a lot. The reviews here and on Amazon were impressive so, at a quarter of the price of a slightly larger pair of Bose, I decided to give them a try, thinking I could always return them and face the music on the Bose pair If they didn’t deliver. These babies aren’t going anywhere. They’re just as described in the 5 star reviews. I went with 4 stars only because they produce a beautifully full dimension 3 channel sound even though they don’t have quite the same bass richness or the treble cleanness as the $450 Bose pair...but pretty close! My house is wired for speakers throughout so I can enjoy whatever I’m listening to everywhere and these do not disappoint at all when I head into the library. For the money, these will not disappoint at all.

Impressive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are impressive - especially at this price point. I bought these for my daughter but connected to a reference system to see how they sounded. After a few minutes of breaking in, I was impressed at the sound these produced. First though, the upstream equipment was a McIntosh C2700 pre-amp, McIntosh MC8207 amplifier, playing tracks from Tidal streaming. The sound was dynamic, the bass was tight and noticeable, but not overwhelming or boomy. The mid range really shined - particularly when there is an isolated instrument like a guitar solo - the clarity and replication is vivid. The soundstage was good - I did need to bring the speakers in closer than I normally listen for a sweet spot. I enjoyed listening to these. They were tight, clear, dynamic, with a broad spectrum of sound. They require some power to really push - they will keep up and shine if you provide quality upstream equipment. I was in a 17' x 30' room. The speakers were about 3 feet from the rear wall, about 5' apart, and 8' away from ear. I

Unbeatable at twice their price
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These speakers are unbelievable, and are flat-out the best sounding speakers I've owned in more than 50 years. The sound is neutral in the best sense of the word, and with a decent sound source the speakers themselves are "invisible" -- all you here is an accurately presented sound field. At the list price of $150/pr, they're worth at least double that. I got them on sale for $75/pr, and at that price I feel like I stole them. These aren't for JBL or Klipsch fans -- these speakers are for people who want to hear the music as it was recorded. Highly recommended!

Decent sound for the money if you get themon sale.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like them. Looked at tons of reviews comparing to Elac ( more expensive) Numi, Polk, Micca etc. The pundits say is not a good speaker; no base; no stage presence, too loud on the high end, etc. A lot of negative reviews are based on trying to use this speaker as home theater or in big rooms. Look these are only 120 bucks and are entry level. For my use in a small office they are great. Plenty of bass, maybe a little bright on female vocals. I don't know why many say there is no bass, I guess they want to shake their house foundations but for normal music listening they sound great, especially in a small room (which they are designed for) Are super hifi? well, no. Do they have booming bass? No; but they have a pleasant sound. I would not pay $200 for them though.

Best value for money speaker!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First things first. I would recommend these speakers for several uses: 1. A stereo setup for music 2. Main speakers in a more moderately sized home theater 3 Surround speakers in a larger home theater setup I’m using them in the last case. On to the review You can say a lot of great things about these speakers. 1. Very detailed highs without being harsh. 2. Midrange clarity for vocals and instruments. 3. Good enough bass but need a decent sub for home theater. 4. They sound better than speakers costing twice as much or more in some cases. I bought them on sale but they are worth it at regular retail price as well. If you need a good set of stereo speakers don’t hesitate to pick these up. They sound fantastic. You will have to spend a lot more money to do better.

Sony did it right.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These little speakers are absolutely mind blowing. I originally bought a pair a few months ago and returned them as they didn't sound any better than my Celestions at the time, but decided to try them again about 2 weeks ago, different room placement, and they 100% came to life (using them nearfield for computer speakers) where my desk is now. Bass doesn't go incredibly deep, but they are bookshelf speakers, and the bass that is there is nice and smooth. I have a Mirage LF100 subwoofer that they blend nicely with, however, most of the time the subwoofer is off as I find I don't need it. For their sale price of $74.99 I cannot recommend them enough.

Excellent sound quality.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bose an Sony make some of the best speakers. These are the same 60W bookshelf speakers Sony has made for decades. Of corse they have been revised. At a 100W rating is equal to 70W RMS. The sound quality is excellent. As good as more expensive speakers. If you can get them for a buck fifty, cannot go wrong. Thinking about getting the floor standing speakers also.

Nothing beats it at this price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.See, I am not any acclaimed audiophile, or have a blog, or column anywhere, but I can certainly tell the difference between good and bad audio reproduction. Also, the only credibility to this is that my few friends who come to me with their requirements and are happy with my advices. I work as a IT consultant, and this year working all the time out my room and desk, I felt the need to make my work time more enjoyable. So I thought of getting some good speakers. I wanted something similar to my old setup for ~11 year - 2 M-Audio 5x D toe’d-in at corner of my desk. I relocated and gave my old setup to my younger brother. After my move I bought a Riva Festival (very nice speaker) for its integration to airplay, chromecast and Spotify. I enjoyed listening to it on the couch, or doing chores. Now I wanted something for my work desk (at home), looking at me and giving me a company. I started my research with a budget of upto $500. The first obvious choice were Studio Monitors, Bi Amped, 5-6 inch woofer. I heard Adam Audio’s tv5 and Kali lp-6. Both them sound great and come highly recommended. I would recommend Kali for I liked the sound was more comfortable - and surprisingly at $100 less. So now my budget came down $300, I was sold on Kali. During the research lot of reviewers spoke about ELACs, Klipsch’s, Pioneer passive speakers. These passive speakers + amp were taking me to ~500+. I do not know how people find used speakers which are good. May be I am new to this country, so it will be a while before I understand markets apart from bestbuy and amazon. Anyways, as a junkie I still kept wandering online. I came across Sony SSC5 with an inexpensive Fosi Amp on CheapAudioMan blog. This setup up is in the range of $200. Then during the thanksgiving the setup came lower to $150. It was so low, that I was really tempted to try it, and I got it. Oh Man, it is unbelievable. The sound is so pleasant and it is so easy to listen, there is no fatigue. I dont have vinyls, I use Spotify at 320kbps, at times Amazon Music. I just like to listen good music, and its important that we focus on it more than the technicalities and just enjoy it. Imagine that feeling when something sounds so nice that, the hands stop, head rests on the back and eyes get closed. They sit handsomely on my desk, over inclined pads, slightly toed in. I am truly amazed at the soundstage. It always feel as if the sound is coming from just behind the monitor/screen. I use a 5+ feet desk, and they are edges. I wish they came in red veneer. Also, I liked that they rear ported which keeps them compact enough (front porting I think need space in front). They are ~6 inch away from the wall and nothing is boomy. Specifications you can read in the product details. They sound really well, and then from time to time when you realize what you paid for them - you just cant stop smiling.

Absolutely amazing!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to admit i was hesitant in purchasing these speakers because I love B&W speakers. However, I needed to outfit my dining room with some new speakers and I didn't want to fork out too much cash. My current setup was using a couple of speakers from my very first 5.1 speaker setup which were the klipsch quintets from eons ago. My online searching revolved around a great budget speaker for 100 bucks. Low and behold, I found these Sony core series and they are awesome! I would have never thought that Sony could design speakers that sound this good. I've always thought of them putting together speakers made for a HTIB setup but this totally blew my mind. The amount of base these bookshelves create amaze me. They are clean sounding and open. These are 6 ohm speakers so make sure your receiver can pump them. I have them paired with a yamaha adventage series receiver. The best part is I found a pair of these as open box and got another discount when BB had their special discount off of open box. I'm recommending these now for those who ask me about speakers at this price point.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SSCS5 bookshelf speaker goodness. These bookshelf speakers are darlings. They are lightweight, but are packing so much value for the price. I have two sets of these on two stereo systems. Add an amp with a wide band EQ and subwoofer bass management for the most adaptable system. Are they perfect, no, but can they sound as good or better than speakers that cost three times more, absolutely (with minor eq tweaks). These are not 3-way speakers, and are actually 2.5-way instead with midway driver, a tweeter, and super tweeter. Listen and enjoy.

great speakers, sound bigger than they are
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even at full price, this is a good buy. At $88,- almost a steal. Driving them with an integrated class d amp from Loxije (DAC, pre-amp, headphone amp, power amp with blue tooth, optical, RCA, USB in and a sub out and 2 speakers out) and using them for mostly music in a small to medium-sized room. They can stand on their own, but a subwoofer makes them even better by adding more volume to the bass that even without still is punchy enough
