These speakers are beautiful! Our music is rich sounding. They fit in very nicely with our decor.

This is for the towers. Incredible. No complaints. Don't need a sub for what I'm doing with these. If you really want the extra power for bass then get one, but for general listening I don't feel the need in my case. Was worried I might need it but these can hold their own just fine at decent volumes. They won't hit as hard as larger speakers or if you added a sub, but they are still plenty good for most music and video. No real desire for a full surround setup. Maybe someday. Quite satisfied with just a regular stereo pair with these tower speakers. Mostly for music but also the occasional TV show or movie. Like the plain style. Not flashy. Just good speakers that are in a seemingly well designed cabinet that sound nice. Well worth it. So much better than expected. So much nicer sounding than expected.

Purchased these beauties on a Black Friday sale. I probably would not have looked at them otherwise. I wasn’t disappointed with these tower speakers, they were more than enough to provide excellent sound quality for my home theatre system. They provide clear, crisp highs with excellent voice reproduction and descent bass which compliments the add on subwoofer that I purchased. Good value and a great price. In hindsight, I would have paid more for these towers if they weren’t on sale!

My old tower speakers were great...till one of the drivers broke. What an annoying sound it made. L&R front tower speakers were some small Canadian built speakers that were very highly rated. They were about 3 to 4 times the cost of these Sony Core Series towers ! I wasn't expecting the Sony's to match the tonal balance of my old speakers. That was a mistake on my part. Not only did they match them in sound quality, they exceeded them. I was stunned. Mixing different brands of speakers in a 5.1 surround sound system is usually not recommended. The tonal balance, due to different makes of woofers and tweeters in each speaker is usually off when you ''mix'' brands. In my case they were simply ''right-on'' with the little Sony Core Series towers. I'm hearing things now that I never heard with my old Canadian towers. Sony hit a home run with their Core Series. Run...don't walk...to Best Buy, and just purchase these little jewels. I got them on sale for 1/2 price. They are simply ''overachievers''. I love em' !

Love these. Priced right! I really did my research before purchasing these. Compared sound, prices, watts, music, sizes. Did some serious price and comparison to all local speaker stores..love these slick size standing speakers with great sound.

I upgraded my A/V home theater system as a Christmas present… bought a new Denon amp and decided to buy new speakers to go with it. I bought 2 sets of the Sony bookshelf speakers, a set of these floor speakers and a Sony subwoofer. I bought the second set of bookshelf speakers instead of the Atmos specific speakers because the second set would already be facing upward and would be bouncing off the ceiling… plus they have better sound. These floor speakers are pretty good. Not the best, but good. They do put out some very good clear, crisp sound but seem to miss a lot of the low end bass range. Of course that’s what the subwoofer is for, but I have an old set of Pioneer floor speakers from the 80’s… much bigger… can be much louder if I had an amp that could properly drive them and they have a more pronounced bass than these guys do. I would say, for the money (as I got these on sale for a very good price per speaker) these are a good starting point for most peoples needs. For an apartment, plenty of sound. Maybe too much. The highs and mids are very good. When I was demoing speakers a Best Buy, I did think the competitive Polk floor speakers had a better sound that had more bass, but the Polk bookshelf speakers were aweful. The sales guy was like, “you really need to stay with the same brand speakers to get the best out of them” so that was why I went ahead and bought these guys. Otherwise, I would’ve bought the Polk floor speakers and the Sony everything else.

My 25yr old Technic tower speakers just weren't worth moving anymore, so after reading some reviews of users and professionals, I bought these Sony SSCS3 towers. WOW, I'm hearing so much more out of my movies and cds that I should have done this yrs ago. They have great bass on their own, but I added two subs for rocking below 80hz. If you want a great upgrade to your a/v system, these Sonys will make you smile.

I really debated on these Sony floor standing speakers among a few other brands. I am very pleased that I chose these. I am only using for music (CD’s and albums) with a 2-channel Sony receiver also purchased from BB at the same time. I was going to eventually add a sub,, but these have plenty of bass for my liking. They look great and do not take up much space. Would highly recommend.

Great sound, space saver, reasonable price and sleek design.

I have been researching speakers for a while now as I wanted to make our family room an audio/media room where we can enjoy music and/or movies like you are in a cinema or some concert. I was aiming for Klipsch as they are great but... I couldn't justify the pricing. I decided to go with a price/sound/review balance and that pointed towards these speakers. Wow, wow, wow... The decision to go with Sony was the best decision. The speakers are excellent!!! Sound coming out of them is ideal for pretty much any size room. Another good surprise is the bass... very good. I am glad and happy that went with Sony floor-standing speakers, they are great.

These speakers fill the living room with detailed sound. Highs to the lows of bass, they deliver. I’m more than please to have these in my home theater set up. They don’t take up much space and look great in the room.

Unmatched at the price I got them for. I can see why they are trying to raise its price but I wouldn't purchase in the 200 dollar range. Gives you clear sound! Gives you some really decent volume as well! It's used for just it's ability to give me some highs. For that it earns an A+

I'm using a pair as my main speakers in a 5.2.2 Atmos setup. My mains are paired with a Sony CS8 center and four Sony CS5's. My subs are a pair of SVS PB-2000's. After a few EQ adjustments and running Audyssey, these Sony Cores are nothing short of amazing. Clarity and soundstage is incredible, for $99 each, they were an absolute steal. I'm not sure why these were priced so cheap, the quality is mind blowing. Music sounds live and vocals are crystal clear. These need to be paired with a sub(s). They shine with highs and mids, bass isn't enough to my liking. They blend very well with my subs, subs crossed over at 120hz. $430 for my mains, center, and four bookshelf satellites, I feel like I stole these from Best Buy.

These speakers at the sale price of $99 is fantastic. Absolutely better sounding m than the famed Polk SP-FS52. Less muddy midrange and clearer highs. The bass is adequate by itself but I’m pairing these with a sub for HT and music use

I bought a Sony 5.2 receiver for my gaming PC and bought some cheap speakers and turned the volume all the way up and fried all but the center speaker lol. So I got on bestbuy and bought a pair of these and man what a difference! I paired these with some older American made speakers I bought used off a auction site and the sound is amazing! They can handle max volume or 125W as I have tested them and without distortion!

Nice, simple design, with crisp and booming sound. Other reviews I've read have stated that music doesn't sound great, while movies sound good. Unless you're a hardcore audiophile, I doubt you'll be able to pickup on any audio issues with these speakers while listening to music, be it from a record player/bluetooth/etc - and if you do, I'd recommend simply tweaking your sound settings on your receiver *most have several music related presets to choose from*. As for bass, even if you don't have a subwoofer, these put out good, booming sound. Obviously, if you're wanting the full theater experience, I'd recommend getting a subwoofer, but even if you don't, these will sound great.

If you're looking for tower speakers that don't break the bank, these are the ones. They sound incredible when watching broadcast TV, Apple TV movies, Disney + content (especially Star Wars!). I have this mated to a Sony receiver model # STRDH790. Music sounds good from them, although I did purchase them for strictly music enjoyment. They are not huge and blend in nicely with my entertainment console. Most of all they didn't break the bank, so in my opinion dollar for dollar for an inexpensive sound experience, I would highly recommend these to anyone!

The sound variation that these provide for my living room is perfect. I can hear all of the highs and lows with ease.

OVERALL I purchased two SS-CS3 towers to fill a room (15' x 20') with music; they do the job admirably. WHAT I LIKE Sound quality is pleasing to my ears. These towers reproduce high-pitched voices and instruments (tambourine, violin, triangle) splendidly. They're also smooth with equal volume output across their rated frequency spectrum; which makes the SS-CS3 a versatile performer across multiple musical genres. The detail that these speakers produce is also pleasing. It is not the best detail I've ever heard, but nice enough to feel realism in the music that I'm listening to. For example, they do not provide as much definition as my Sennheiser HD558 headphones. I also like the build quality and look. The enclosures are handsome enough, skinny by comparison to other tower seakers, come with decent speaker covers, and include high-quality binding posts. WHAT I DON'T LIKE Low frequencies sound more compressed and lack detail compared to the high frequency output. After purchasing a subwoofer (Klipsch P-100SW), and setting the crossover to 80hz, the lows are nice. CONSIDERATIONS These speakers are rated at 6 Ohms impedance. Make sure that your amplifier is compatible before purchasing. MY SETUP I've got these speakers hooked-up to an old but nice Onkyo receiver that processes digital (toslink) source audio from my computer.
