My new Sony dsc hx80 is a nice affordable camera that want break the bank. I decided to get the sony because of its amazing zoom range which is 30x clear view. This camera is a great choice for someone the want to take pictures and vlog. The sony is also lightweight and can be held in different angles with ease. This camera has a selfie flip screen that is very useful as well. I recommend this camera to anyone that want something in between low price and quality.

I use this camera for vlogging it’s a great camera love the flip screen really helps when you’re filming videos of yourself. I went through a lot of cameras trying to find one for a decent price and good quality and I found it with this one.

This camera was exactly what I was looking for. It was had the awesome zoom that I could pick out a building in a skyline. The 180 screen was very helpful when trying to take selfies, and the battery lasted quite a long time. The wifi connectivity is great, and it is very easy and quick to transfer any and all photos you take to your mobile device. 200+ pictures takes a minute or two and that is it. The only down side, was make sure you try the plug in with the cable, as it sometimes thinks it is connecting to a computer instead of charging. Otherwise, awesome camera.

Very nice for outdoor work. Viewfinder is very good, detail is sharp, plenty of options, movie mode is remarkablely good for this level. Indoor quality is less than optimal but in line with this price point. Plan on needing to use the flash for most situations. Flash usable range around maybe 20 feet. I do not care for the processing lag after taking indoor photos w or w/o flash. Wide angle above expectations, zoom has great range and good quality. Overall takes very nice pictures and worth the cost to value. Just don't expect it to work as well as a decent $1000 slr camera and you will be fine with it. I still don't care for the play memories photo program Sony pushes. Just too glitchy with windows 10. Lots of better options for processing. Don't much like how the wifi works either. Best to just not use it.

I've owned Sony cameras and equipment for a long time. I chose this camera specifically for the following reasons: Its small size for travelling Its pop-up viewfinder for sunny days when you can't see a thing on the screen Its long-range optical zoom for travelling and sports events. So far I've used it for my grandkids in the pool and was very happy with its turnover time, and at a concert where I was able to zoom in on the performer easily. I will be taking it on vacation soon and hope that it will meet my expectations. Best of all was to get the features I wanted at a pretty reasonable price

The Sony DSC-HX80 camera is extraordinary. In one-month’s time I taken over 600 memorable pictures and a dozen videos. I’ve played around with all of its modes: iA, IS, P,A,S,M, SCN, Movie. Intelligent Auto is where I spend most of my time, but having all of the other options is great. Single frame and continuous shooting is a nice option. The pop-up viewfinder is sweet as well as the pop-up flash, and swing monitor. The battery charge in this camera was a big surprise to me, it has never dropped more than 15% after a good day’s use. Overall I am extremely pleased with this camera! The HX80 is a replacement for another brand camera I used, which gave me years of good pictures but died of old age. Being on an extended two-month vacation I needed something to use fairly quick. At Best Buy I looked at several possibilities. Couldn’t decide which was best so I went home and spent the weekend reviewing them on the Internet. They were all rated very similar but the Sony HX80 always seemed to come out on top so that is what I purchased.

I am no camera expert by any means but wanted a simple, small point and shoot camera that boasted the specs of something a little bigger. This camera fit my needs. There are multiple settings where the camera will automatically adjust to the surrounding light and will take great photos. There are also multiple settings for more experienced photographers to adjust making this a great starting camera, one that can grow with the photographer. A pop up flash and tilting screen sealed the deal for me, very happy with the purchase.

this camera is great. takes great pics and is easy to use. I wanted something to replace my ancient canon camera. this is compact and has all the adjustments of a better camera without having to invest in the professional ones. If you are a avid photographer, this won't do, but for everyday use its great

My son loves this thing. He is 13 years old and getting into photography, movie making etc His go pro has taken a back seat to this camera. The ONLY downfall I see is that the low light pictures are not great at all :( but Ive read that on reviews before I purchased and it doesn't damper this product at all. The screen flips in all directions, crazy and cool filter features and pretty easy to use- although my son is very tech savvy so I can't speak ease of use for someone that isn't tech savvy

I have been impressed with the quality and sharpness of the pictures. The important feature is the pop up viewfinder you can look through. I only use the optical zoom which is 30x. Also it can fit in your pocket.

Incredible performance packed into a tiny camera body! Very easy to carry, and quickly deploy for photos, and videos. I've taken great shots while also running a video camera on tripod. The Zoom is insane! Low-light can be sketchy at times. Overall, the convenience makes up for small downsides.

Camera takes photos with good resolution & sharpness at a distance - good for zoo animals. It also works well with close focus. It has a view finder that is useful in bright light and a tilt screen. It has a 30x zoom, but full zoom cannot be used at close distances. It has a very good battery life. The door to the charging connector seems flimsy and should be handled carefully.

I love this camera. I am 81 years old and not very tech savy. I purchased this camera because it is small pocket sized. I wanted it to bring on my first international trip with my family. I knew we needed to limit our carry on to one small case. It takes wonderful photos with it's many easy to use functions.

I read reviews about this camera, they've been great. I'm not proficient with cameras and everyone recommended this as a starter camera. I like it, I don't love it only because I had a dsr camera quality pics in mind. It's easy to use, takes pretty clear pictures. The only thing I dislike is the flash is not an automatic pop up. Apparently nice fancy cameras don't have that feature anymore.

Bought for a trip to Alaska. It’s compact size made it great to stick in a pocket. The zoom was very impressive and clear at distance. Battery life was good. Still have a lot to learn about this camera to get the most out of the features. The only issue I have is the button to record video is easy to activate due to its location.
