Purchased this camera to replace a Sony snap and shoot I have had for many years. So far, I find it easy to use (have not used all options), compact (fits in pocket) and it takes great pictures. The price for the camera was pretty good. Looking forward to using it during the summer months and on trips.

I love this camera ! We vlog with it & it works awesome ! It is perfect for vlogging with the flip screen ! It's also a very convenient size!

As a professional photographer, I was looking for something compact with a lot of zoom that would allow me to leave my DSLR's home for personal events. It takes excellent photos in good lighting situations. In low light, it's just ok. Long battery life. At this price point, RAW files would have been nice. Video is clean and borderline stellar. Overall, it's a great camera.

A very enjoyable camera. I personally picked this up with intention to use it for recording YouTube content. The camera's UI is superb, everything is neatly displayed on screen, So I never needed to ask what a mode did (even if I did, the included manual is incredibly thorough as well). I enjoy the resolution and brightness on the camera greatly, paired with a surprisingly satisfying zoom, made a fun time out of taking shots. Overall, wether recording or photographing, I consider this a great choice to consider!

As a professional photographer, I was looking for something small that I can fit in my pocket that still takes beautiful photos. This camera fits the bill. The 30x zoom is very handy and the video is really really good. Does not replace a DSLR camera, but it does take beautiful photos. In low light, the performance suffers a bit from noise.

Small enough to take anywhere, has issue with card not staying in, after a fight it was replaced. Cheaper now then when I got mine.

Not the best camera in that arena but when comparing the quality and features it was the best choice. Great pics and easy to use.

Overall, the camera is really good. The flip screen is convenient. The size and shape make it easy to carry and use on the go. The auto-focus works well! The only negative thing I can say is that the flash and some of the settings were different than other cameras! It is a good and reliable vlogging camera for the price you are paying!

My son did his own homework on the best cameras available. He was interested in regular photography as well as recording videos for upload to various social media sites. The picture and video quality is very clear. This camera has a long lasting battery and a flip screen monitor so he can always see what he is recording.

This camera is of excellent quality. Takes great pics, is small to take anywhere and good deal for the price.

I did a few months of researching for a new point and shoot and this camera fit the criteria. It's very light, has plenty of shooting options, and I'm pretty much using the flip screen half the time for vlogging. The pictures come out great, but you have to be a bit steady on the hand if you want to take a selfie.

This camera replaces another Sony compact point and shoot, which I've used and enjoyed for years. The HX80 has a 30X optical zoom which is great for a small camera. The main reason for the purchase however is the optical viewfinder which is rare in a compact camera these days. It makes shooting in sunlight much easier. Image quality is great, and the camera has plenty of manual controls for those that prefer them. Very pleased with this purchase.

I am currently using this camera and have used many of its predecessors (hx50v, hx90v). I do real estate Inspections and this camera gets abused daily (200-500+) pictures per day. I always buy 2 and the warranties just because the way I use them. For the average person, this camera is awesome for the zoom feature. 30x optical is great for anything you might want to look at from far away (for me it is roofs from the ground across the street).

This is the third Sony point and shoot camera of this type that I have owned and it is by far the best (I lost the other two!). What makes this camera better than the prior two cameras is the 30x optical zoom lens and the pop up optical viewfinder. When taking photos outdoors, the LCD display, as on most cameras, is close to useless. The optical viewfinder is perfect for those outside shots. You actually know what is going to be photographed. My other camera is a high level Nikon DSLR. Although the photographs taken with this Sony camera are not as high a quality as can be achieved with the DSLR, they are entirely acceptable for most uses, especially when they will not be enlarged above an 8 by 10 size. It's a great camera when you don't want to or cannot lug around a heavy DSLR and a camera bag full of lenses.

As a long time photographer, I am very particular about my cameras. So when I went looking for a birthday gift for my sister-in-law, I was looking for a camera that was easy to use, that takes very sharp pictures, and that was light and easy to use as a travel camera. This was it.

This camera is the best camera and honestly I think it’s way underpriced for the quality it has.

I bought this camera for a trip to Egypt. The pop up view finder is really great to have in bright sun when you can't see the LED panel. The 30 X zoom is great, as is the lens. The tilting LED panel does help when you want to get low angle shots, but not lay on the ground. I had the WX350 before hand, which I enjoyed, but this is a more functional camera, while remaining easy to use. You can also control more of the settings, but since I really don't know what an Fstop does, Ill let the camera do it for me. My guess is I only use about 50% of the functionality of this camera, but still feel it is a good buy, especially for anyone looking for a point and shoot that has a great zoom function and can still work in bright light.

I was in need of a new camera and wanted something small with a lot of optical zoom. This camera fit the bill. I was nervous about heading out on a 7 day cruise with an untested camera - on my 5 hour plane ride I read the manual and tried all the buttons. This camera is amazing !! I got wonderful pictures, zoom worked great. The feature of a pop up view finder when in extreme bright light and glare is awesome. I had to remove my glasses to use the viewfinder but was able to focus enough to use it. As others have said, it may not work wonderful in extreme low light conditions but I tried a few different settings and got decent pictures. For the first time ever got a few fireworks shots by using the fireworks mode. I am sure with more reading of the manual and practice I will improve in use of the camera

This camera takes great pictures and is very easy to use. Digital technology has come so far!

Purchased this because of the portability to take on trips and for family events. Camera has many features the best of which was the flip of screen for selfie shots. I used this for two weeks and was not impressed with the indoor image quality, everything i took with the different settings turned out grainy or blurred. I know that this camera is supposed to be used for outdoors but i was dissapointed on the indoor performance. Outdoors turned out ok when using the zoom. Video was also a bit grainy indoors. I ended up returning within the 15 day return period. I think a camera with a 1" sensor would better suit my needs.
