Got this as a daily carry around camera to supplement cellphone. Photos are good for being jpeg's. Video quality is very good and image stabilization works amazing for video. When filming while walking it looks like it's on a gimbal. Good size even with larger hands it small but not too small. Wifi feature is nice for sending a couple pics to phone to share but slow for downloading whole card to computer. Pop up viewfinder isn't very useful because you have to manually extend and retract it each time you pop it up and the LCD is bright enough that it's unnecessary. The bad - the tripod socket is in the WORST place ever. If you use even the smallest tripod like the original Gorillapod you can't access the hdmi port or the battery/sd card door. So every time you need to change a battery or remove the card you have to remove the mount which is only about 3/4" wide. And your unable to tether to a monitor while shooting on any kind of stand.

Compact yet sturdy, this is an excellent camera to take along for walks when I don't want to carry my DLSR gear. It's a handy pocket camera to always keep with me for the unexpected photo moments. Great range, long lasting battery, crisp images.

VERY PLEASED WITH THIS CAMERA. WAS A REPLACEMENT FOR A PANASONIC LUMIX THAT BROKE THE ZOOM. THIS CAMERA TAKES GREAT PICTURES IN ALL THE MODES I'VE TRIED SO FAR. EASY TO UNDERSTAND. DOES WAY MORE THAN I'LL EVER USE. LIGHT WEIGHT ENOUGH FOR MY POCKET WHEN TRAVELING.

I was looking for a cameral with good controls and the ability to take stunning pictures. This camera was perfect. Quick startup and fairly simple to use. Good battery after 100 rapid photos in high resolution. I would easily recommend this camera to anyone.

An awesome camera! The zoom proved very useful on a recent trip as well as the flip screen for accurate selfies. Best of all my phone's battery was thanking me afterward.

Bought this camera for a Safari in Africa and it meet my expectations. The 30x zoom was great for taking animal pics. Fits very nicely in pocket and battery lasts longer than previous camera I had. Disappointed it doesn't have GPS.

The right size with amazing image quality, right out of the camera. Zeiss Lens with a Sony Sensor is the winning combination with digital cameras of all kinds. The lens zooms to 700mm on a 35mm format, 5 axis stabilization - the longest zoom images are sharp. The camera is a bit heavy for its size, but I like that, it is substantial, hearty construction. Cute pop up flash - mostly for fill lite or close subjects EVF - it pops up much like the flash and THIS IS THE PRIMARY REASON I CHOSE THIS CAMERA. Now in bright daylight, you can look thru the EVF - electronic viewfinder, and not only see you subject clearly, but you can see the actual exposure in real time. EVF downside, still a bit pixelatd, but very usable. Shadow detail is out of this world. I like it, it is exactly what I was hoping for.

I had been wanting a camera with a 180 degree flip screen so that I could Vlog with it and not have to carry my DSLR. I had been looking at Canon G7x. But this was at a much more reasonable price point! It had been sold out for months at my local store, and I had wished that I had gotten it when I had first seen it. I went in to my local store about two weeks ago and it was there! I grabbed it right away! It's been great! I've used it on a few outings and to make a few videos. The video and audio is great! It is exactly what I wanted. It is not a touch screen. But that isn't really a necessary feature. It does have WiFi so that you can transfer files between you camera and phone. But I also purchased the GoPro Quik Key to transfer files. That has worked perfectly! Great little camera! Well built. Does exactly what I wanted and needed!

I bought the DSC-HX80 after my older SONY Cybershot died. I was always happy with the performance of the old one, so I wanted a replacement with similar quality & features. The HX80 has met my expectations - easy to use, many settings options that can by selected quickly between shots, clear image, decent low-light capabilites (so far I haven't had to use the flash, even at night), and a good optical zoom. The only "problem" is holding the camera steady for high-zoom shots - almost impossible, yet the unit does a great job of compensating, usually resulting in shots that are sharp and clear. This model is a bit heavier than the one it replaced, but still fits comfortably in my pocket without dragging it down. I haven't had it long enough to try all the features, which will only enhance my experience using this camera.

Love the size and the telephoto lens. A few quirks to get used to - manual pop up flash and you have to pull out the viewfinder to use. It can be a bit finicky to focus that way. Overall a good camera for vacation

As usual the Sony brand camera is great. This is my third Sony camera and all have been top notch. The previous two lasted a long time and were used alot. This time around I tried another brand that cost a little less (trying to save money). The other brand was difficult to operate and took substandard pictures and after one day was returned. I then purchased this Sony and was amazed, but not surprised, at how much better the pictures are. The camera is easy to operate as well. I have learned my lesson. For my needs a Sony camera is the best!! The pictures are superb. The pictures from this camera have been compared to pictures from higher priced, more advanced cameras and are noticeably better. Well worth the price! Love this camera! Thanks Sony for making these wonderful cameras.

Purchased this as a travel camera when I don't want to lug around my larger camera. It worked great. Takes great pictures and the long zoom on it is very versatile. I've read reviews complaining about the low light picture quality. This is always true for a camera with a smaller sensor, especially when zoomed in. However, I've found that the automatic modes on this camera can overexpose in low light. I've gotten great low light pictures using manual mode, using a slower shutter speed that allows for a lower ISO, therefore reducing noise. With the built in vibration reduction, this camera can take pictures at slower shutter speeds than the auto settings allow. If you are willing to work with it, this camera can take great pictures across the board.

This camera was purchased to replace an old Sony H1 prior to a trip to Disneyworld and Universal Studios last June. I took over 2,500 pictures and videos on our trip and this camera performed flawlessly. I was very impressed with its ability to take low light pics with more detail than I could see with my own eyes. Actually, I took probably 95% of my pictures without needing to use the flash - it was that good! It was also great to have a camera with 30x zoom capability that I could easily carry on my belt loop.

So far I have used this camera in family gatherings, football game and a concert. I like it because It's small with a long zoom. However, is a little bit heavier than my old Sony camera. The only reason I upgraded to this camera was because I was looking for the feature of "STAMP DATE". I have read the reviews of many cameras and was planning on switching from my Sony to a different brand...but after reading so many reviews from so many different types of cameras I decided to stick to my Sony an updated version ( i am content). The other cool feature I like is that you are able to pull out the screen so you can take a selfie. So far I am very pleased with this new upgraded version of Sony Camera.
