This a great camera to always have one you. It's my first choice when I don't want to lug around my DSLRs and lenses or can only bring one camera with me. Wish it still had the Sony Apps and had an internal ND filter. Full touch functions for interacting with the menus would be nice as the touch functionality is limited to focus and exposure.

Have not used it much yet but I feel it will be great for travelling since one does not have to carry interchangeable lenses. Just wish it were a little lighter but that probably cannot be expected with a 600mm lens

With this camera, you don't have to worry about carrying more lens with you. It is also good for night photography.

I have owned the Sony A700 for 10+ years. This camera is now my #1. The lens is AWESOME!!

Overly complicated camera. I've used dSLRs and many other mirrorless cameras for many years. I would consider myself an advanced photographer. The two main reasons to buy this camera are it's weatherproofing and it's 600mm lens. Other than that, the menu structure is frustrating (typical Sony) and the fact that the touchscreen really is only marginally touchscreen on very select screens. The focus is frustrating, you set a manual focus point, where you can move it around via the d-pad on the back of the camera, but for some reason even with your eye to the EVF, your nose can tap on the screen and select a different point. It's extremely frustrating when you can't get your shot because focus is off. Overall, I'd say the camera is great if you can get it at an extreme discount and you're willing to get used to the way Sony's system works...and you need the amazing 600mm lens range. Otherwise, it's bulky and way too convoluted.

Grown weary of lugging a big lens. It produces photos that are powerful good. It’s a lovely camera.

I an an amateur photographer... I had a Nikon D7200 with lots of lenses... I started having focusing issues. I bought this camera and love it. The auto focusing is so much better, with the reach of this lense, you dont need to carry around multiple lenses. Also the camera response is super quick! People complain about the Sony menu system.... but I personally dont think its bad.

So far a great camera. Listened to the Best Buy Rep (he was also Sony trained) and he knew what he was talking about. He was right, sure you can buy a better cameras and be more specialize, yet you end up spending a lot more. The BBR, was able to suggest a balance to meet my needs and provide more value for the buck. The more I study this camera on YouTube, etc. I appreciate it more.

Small and light but make very clear and nice picture and fast

Excellent for sports and distance photography. We looked at a lot of bridge cameras before settling on this model. Great zoom quality, nice burst, great sensor image quality, all around a lot in one package without taking the leap to a bigger system.
