Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the Cyber-shot RX100 II's compact size and great image quality, even at higher ISO's. Many also appreciate its built-in Wi-Fi for easy sharing of photos on social media. While some users wish for a wider zoom and better grip, the camera's solid construction and user-friendly design are generally well-received.

I got this same camera for Christmas and accidentally left it in the rain and ruined it. I loved it so much, I bought another one!

This is an overall great product at a good price. The one big issue is that your naturel grip on the camera puts your fingers right where the flash pops up.

Tried using camera at a music festival. The Zoom was not as powerful as expected. Screen and menu not really intuitive. Camera did not produce clear low lite pictures.

Great Action and Low Light Shots!

Finally a small camera that will take great low light and action shots! I can be as simple or complex as you want. Automatic settings do very well so you don't have to fuss w/ settings if you are in a hurry or you can go completely manual. One advanced setting is a face recognition function. You register the face(s) and it prioritizes settings for that face (or faces) in a crowd. This season, I have been the team photographer for my daughter's travel soccer team. Using Action shot setting, I got great shots, no blurring! I have it set to continuously autofocus which I believe causes a slight shutter delay but I have learned to anticipate and compensate for this.I have also taken photos of the marching band at football games. More challenging because of combination of long distance, low light, and motion. If I can get close enough, I get good shots. The best camera is one you will carry and use. This fits my needs perfectly.

High quality SLR type photos from a point & shoot

Takes high quality SLR type photos right out of the box. The menu is a little confusing, but once you find out where the different options are, your ready to get creative! It has high-speed AF, and also I like the shallow depth of field, cause you can easily get the bokeh effect with the blurred background, fast shutter speed, and the size is perfect. Wish it had a physical manual with it, and also hand grips on it, so it was a little easier to hang on to.

The last time I bought a point and shoot was 7 years ago... I love my dslr for the picture quality but not for the weight. I have been looking for a compact point and shoot for years eithout finding one with a picture quality I could live with. Then the sony came about and I decided to give it a try: it is perfect! Image quality is perfect, and it is relatively easy to use. The user interface is not the best at first but after a couple of tries I was getting it. The build In wifi make it a breeze to post pics on social media. A great buy indeed.

Best Point and Shoot Camera On the Market

This has the be the best camera of its class. No other point and shoot camera comes close to the options, picture quality, and durability of this camera. It performs better than our 4 year old high end DSLR cameras. It takes fast accurate pictures and I absolutely LOVE the 1.8 aperture lens. If you are looking for a portable camera that shoots beautiful shallow depth of field, then look no further. Sony cameras are always feature packed, and this one is no exception. Outstanding camera!

Excellent camera for every day pictures as well occasional events. Great picture quality in low light will definitely come handy for my underwater use. I was initially thinking about purchasing DSLR but I'm going to use this camera mainly for underwater and the waterproof housing prices are way higher for DSLR. There is no doubt that this camera will take DSLR-like pictures while being half the size.

Finally, a digital camera that I want to use!

Amazing camera. When looking for one at a BB store, you'll probably only find the DSC-RX100 (the model below the Mark 2). That model will impress you enough if a pro-sumer compact is what you're looking for, but invest in the extra $ and buy the Mark 2 if only for the wi-fi and NFC alone. The multi function hot shoe and NFC capabilities will make this machine stay relevant far longer than others for sale today.

    Best Point and Shoot Period!

This is even better than the Sony DSC-RX100 (the first of the series). For example better low light capabilities, hot shoe, and built in WiFi. Android users might like the Near Field capability. I like being able to use my iPhone as a remote trigger - awesome.
