Wow, what a handy camera! I love the portability and the quality of photos. It's so great to have a compact camera with pop-up viewfinder, with the added benefit of turning on and off the camera whenever it is engaged. I recommend adding an external hand-grip; I got a metal one that screws onto the base via the tripod threads.

Wow, what an amazing camera. For the most part you will only use the Auto or the Scenes selections, but if you want to dabble more I recommend looking up some videos on how to use this bad boy. The menu system is quite confusing. I tried out the Canon SX740 but I was unhappy with the low light shots. This camera is amazing! Expensive, but amazing.

This camera is amazing. I wanted something compact and powerful and I didn't want to buy any additional lenses. It has so many features that I'm still learning and playing with it. Don't just use auto settings, because this camera has a lot to offer! Play with it!

I purchased this camera a few days before my scheduled travel abroad. I adjusted easily to the new camera and found it has great, quick focus and takes sharp phootos on the run. The articulating screen is great in taking ceiling shots, especially in cathedrals. I appreciate its small, portable size.

I mostly use it for run and gun video. The 4K quality is very good but stabilization doesn't work at that resolution. The touch screen is only good for selecting focus points, and even then, during video it is constantly hunting. I like my RX100 V better. The longer lens has too many compromises.

I used this camera for a trip to Colorado and it worked very well. I was able to zoom in on objects as needed and the auto settings made picture taking a breeze as I got used to the numerous settings. Fits in a pocket though a little big.

We have the first generation RX100 and have been very pleased with the performance with few exceptions. With the introduction of the VI, it basically cured all the exceptions we had with the original. Picture quality--WOW--Detail galore. 4K video absolutely sensational and looks great on our 4K TV. Slow Mo--What a blast. Zoom--Yea baby. No more wishing I had the ability to move in close. Menus are better than the original with so much flexibility to set up the camera the way you want. Expensive--You bet. Worth it--every penny spent

I have owned several Sony RX100s and several Sony a series cameras. This is by far my favorite. Mainly because of the lens, 24-200mm. And the image quality is outstanding. Even in low light, I have shot photos at ISO 4000 and they came out amazing.

This camera requires many hours of use and much experimentation to be appreciated. The flexibility and potential diverse shooting, processing, communicating (sharing) and operational settings offered require a great deal of research and practice to be fully realized. I've never seen so much potential in such a small camera. Amateurs should be prepared to invest time for appreciation.

Love this camera for the picture quality and large zoom lens. The results are so good that I rarely bother taking my DSLR out any longer. Negative is the price point which is steep.

I am more familiar with Panasonic settings so a steep learning curve for me with this camera. I had read in other reviews about Sony cameras having a complicated settings system. This is accurate. I bought a book to help with this learning process and this has been helpful. Purchased this camera in preparation for a trip to Spain in April. I had considered Panasonic zs200... but when researching and looking at sample picture comparisons I decided to give this Sony camera a try.

We were going on vacation and updated to this camera. It has nice zoom capabilities and does well in low light. All of these qualities in a pocket camera. You also have 4K vidieos.

I have a number of NIkon DSLR bodies and lenses and consider myself an above-average photographer; I'm good, but not a pro. This RX100 model, the mk-VI, has the "travel" oriented lens. If your shooting style is best served by wide-open apertures (bokeh, low light, etc) then you would probably be best served by the model before this one, the mk-V with its f/1.8 aperture. The mk-VI trades the wide-open aperture for a much longer and versatile lens, and still manages to keep a respectable f/2.8 rating. The DSC-RX100 line has been my compact to-go camera for years (I still have my original mk-I in my kit). It's got great point-and-shoot capabilities and many of the options that an Advanced photographer would need for taking control to craft the shot. It takes shots -quick- which is a huge bonus to me. I personally recommend spending a few extra bucks on a fast SD card so that the camera's buffer doesn't get clogged up. For me, the low-light capabilities are not quite as good as Sony would like you to believe - my pics start to get grainy at lower ISO's than I expected. The low-light pics are certainly passable, just not great. But for me, that's not what this camera is for (I'll use a purpose-built DSLR setup for that) and so I just pop up the Sony's handy little (fragile!) flash. I can't make any useful comments on the EVF. I do use it, and it's nifty and bright, but habitually I use the back LCD screen most of the time. Same with the touchscreen features. This is my first RX100 with touchscreen, and so far all I've used it for is setting focus tracking (which is awesome for my shooting style). At MSRP I don't think the value is particularly great. I was fortunate to get mine on a sale, which then made the camera a good value for the money,

Have always loved the RX100 series having owned all but the mark 4. This camera is no exception. I carry it with me always. Zoom is great which something I always wanted in previous models, the autofocus is amazing as well. Sure the price is high but for the quality of the image and the fact that I don’t have to convince myself to “should I /shouldn’t I bring my camera” now I just grab it and go.

Ok, i have had the Sony RX100II for quite some time. One of the top reasons why I loved it was because it’s compactness & it took the most gorgeous pictures when bouncing the flash. The pictures would come out rich with colors and the flash although very tiny would make the pictures look like you were using a very expensive good flash. Also, it had the multifunction hotshoe which I could also attach an external mic for better audio. So fast forward, I see the new camera mark VI come out and with an impressive lens range of 200mm. I was excited! I bought the markVI and began taking pictures. When I started to download the pictures I noticed that they weren’t really different from my markII’s in sunlight. So I started taking pictures inside bouncing the flash. The pictures To my surprise didn’t “pop” like the markii. So I began taking pictures with both cameras same settings, same positions. The MarkII pictures are so much better by a lot! Even changing every setting in the markVI did nothing to compare it to the markii. I don’t know if it’s just the flash, the new lens, software...but it doesn’t take better pics than the markII. Sorry to say it went back. The new features are totally awesome and I’m sure the video is better, but the pictures sucked compared to the markii. I don’t know what Sony did, but they messed up big time. I really wanted this camera to take the great pictures like the markii but it doesn’t. The new features are awesome, especially the 200mm range and the selfie feature, but if the pictures aren’t better I can’t keep it. I’m not going to gripe about the price because this camera is in a class of its own for being so compact. My brother has a markV which I intend to compare to mine. But until then I’m saving my money for the upcoming Sony A7000 or “Baby A9”. I’m just going to keep my markII cause it takes awesome pics. Hope this helps guys.
