We have yet to start viewing and printing photos yet but previews look good. We have had considerable difficulty getting panoramic shots but like the camera so far.

Comparing to the Rx100VA I can say less effective for portraits but handy with long lens. Faster glass or zoom; you decide.

Why 2 stars? Does everything perfectly EXCEPT I can’t download any videos. I’ve contacted Sony as well as checking YouTube unsuccessfully. I’ve purchased numerous items that were suggested by many “experts” without any luck. Just a great photo camera. A terrible video camera.

Love this camera for various reasons

I need the smallest and best camera possible and this is it! I can carry this cam in my pocket everywhere I go very easily just like the RX100 V but this time with a far better reach up to 200 mm and I love it. I also use it for Real Estate walk thru documenting and presentation. Used my premium cell phone for this but there is not enough wide angle and stabilization for this purpose – also tried my professional equipment Panasonic GH5 with great results but for this it is just too heavy and cumbersome – so the RX100 VI just delivers everything I need for me.

    expensive, and worth it!

First, I'll start out with what I feel are the camera's weaknesses: the body is small and slippery the user interface is poor if you like to make adjustments to your settings frequently it is not easy to do few customizable buttons expensive doesn't feel as well built and the Lumix ZS100 That being said, the camera takes excellent photos. Once you settle on a specific settings arrangement, you can save it, but it is accessed by a combination of dial and touchscreen settings, so it's a bit clunky. I will argue that this camera takes photos at least as good as an entry level Canon or Nikon DSLR with kit lenses. The subject tracking, which on most mirrorless, entry level DSLR's, and compact cameras is poor, is excellent, rivaling, and possible exceeding my Olympus OMD-EM1 mkii at times. Even at 24fps, the camera can track a golden retriever running erratically in the backyard. The lens, which starts at a relatively bright F2.8, does eventually work its way down to a still reasonably bright F4.5 at full zoom. The lens is equivalent to a range of about 24-200 on a standard DSLR camera, so no need to bring a larger DSLR when you are pinched for space, this will likely do the trick, and unless you are shooting with pro or enthusiast level glass on your DSLR, the lens on the RX100VI will likely still be faster at all focal lengths. I've found the edge sharpness to be very good in the corners at all settings ( far better than the Lumix ZS100 and Canon G7 that I also have). Color rendition is fairly accurate, but slightly less good than the Lumix and G7. It's faster to lock focus, and is excellent at tracking. It's also smaller than those cameras. The eye focus feature is unrivaled by any other camera I have used, DSLR, mirrorless, compact or other... This is also a great camera for someone who just wants a DSLR to take pictures of their kids playing sports, and for general snapshots in general-as it has great tracking, has a great zoom range, and is pocket-able, and won't require you to change lenses for either extra zoom or wide angle. I'd argue that for most people, especially those who will just leave their DSLR on AUTO most of the time, that this is a better choice than an entry level DSLR for casual shooting, and it's small enough to bring everywhere. Now, if you are willing to sacrifice a bit of overall sharpness in your photos, and want a much better user interface if you like to make frequent adjustments to your settings, and want to save a boatload of cash, look at the Panasonic Lumix TZ100. IT has easy access custom settings, lots of manual controls, a zoom range of 24-250, and can do in camera raw processing. It's much easier to use, but you lose focus tracking accuracy ( it's still good, but not great), size, and ultimate frames per second. I have compared identical prints from both cameras on a 17" full HD (not 4k) monitor, and at full screen on the monitor, you can see slight sharpness differences in the center of the frame, and more significant sharpness issues on the sides and corners. At 100% zoom it's noticeable across the image. . Again, on a print, it will be less noticeable, but on a larger print under close inspection, you will notice the difference- on a wall from a few feet away, it is irrelevant. Either way, you can't go wrong with the TZ100 or the RX100VI. If you have the budget, and want the BEST overall image quality and performance from your compact camera, get the RX100VI.

Best premium point shoot camera out there!

The 2 things that sold me to this camera is the 200 mm zoom lens and the touch screen(1st time for RX100 series). The image quality is really amazing and with bluetooth connectivity, the pop up viewfinder are another nice features.Overall,if you like a premium camera that is easy to carry around especially on a trip overseas, then this is the one to consider.I owned a Canon DSLR which is so bulky to put on my carry on luggage. So again,if zoom is your priority, then this is it,but if it’s the 4k video only then consider the predecessor,RX100 V for few hundred dollars less.Would definitely recommend this to my friends.
