Not a bad camera - at this time probably the best in class. Gord picture quality. Better video quality. Just a little bit overpriced.

Great images for a small sensor camera but the lense cover is thin small and delicat the metal body is not the strongest metal and dents easily the black finish chips easily as well as the metal chips and scratches. The ring around my lense dented with just a bump against a door and caused the lense cover not to open or close and gets stuck in the middle of the glass. I sent in for warranty at best Buy and they said any damage at all even a scratch and the warranty is not good any more so I had to pau 360 dollars for a new front lense ring and repair I have will see how it works and looks when I get back will take a few more weeks images were good for the sensor size small light weight easy for my work photos inspecting houses all day good for me climbing on roof or in attic dont want big heavy camera but still need high quality image just need a bullet proof camera body and lens cover Built in flash and compact small frame but still good quality photo image for the size a plus built in flash a plus but out side needs stronger lense cover and better stronger grade of metal also stronger paint finish Big price for a delicate camera

Sony has a winner with this 3rd gen version of the RX100. The best improvements have been the multi-angle ability of the large LCD screen (for framing selfies and odd camera positions), a very functional viewfinder (when in bright sun), and a superfast lens. While the zoom range has been reduced from the previous gen, I don't miss the extra range at all - it's a much better tradeoff to have superior wide angle capability and a better macro focus. Thanks to best buy for providing a great price, too!

The camera works great but the screen smudges easily--finger prints, etc. Also, since it cost so much, I'm afraid to take it out anywhere until I get a camera bag to carry it around in. I didn't realize that I needed an SD card right away in order to use it either. So, in addition to the camera, I ended up spending an extra $80 on an SD card, camera bag, and screen protector to go with it. The camera takes really nice pictures though and its improved my selfie quality by leaps and bounds so I feel like it's all worth it in the end.

    Excellent Replacement Camera

Its predecessors earned huge awards so I knew that the Sony RX100 III would be an exciting camera that deliver. Sensor Resolution is still at a high 20.2 megapixels, from the exact same backside-illuminated chip in the RX100 II. The screen can now be tilted upwards 180 degrees, or downwards 45 degrees. There's also a new XAVC S compression option, with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (Full HD) or below, and a bit rate of 50Mbps. And the RX100 III beats its predecessors in the video stabilization department, too, thanks to new SteadyShot Intelligent Active Mode technology. This camera is awesome and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something small to replace their DSLR.

I thought long and hard about this and the two predecessor Sonys, which are considerably less. I chose the m3 due to the lens, and not a single regret. The photo quality is incredible, the videos are great. Bottom line is I love this camera. I'd you can justify the price you won't be disappointed.

This camera takes very good low light pictures. The pop-up viewing eye piece is nice in very bright outdoor light. I wanted a new camera with Wi-Fi capability but it turned out to be very complicated to use. I thought it would be like using my phone to share pictures. I took the camera back in to Best Buy but they would not help me. "Just Google it." I just have not found the time to figure it out. I have not been happy with Best Buy customer service and their rewards points. I wish I had purchased it from another store. I like the playback feature that remembers what picture I was on when I turned off the camera. My husband's Nikon does not and he has to start again after turning off the camera.

Enough has been written about this camera online for those serious about buying this camera. I can't add that much more except that it is one of the best compact cameras you can buy. Picture quality is excellent but beware that this camera has limited optical zoom.

Sony has done it again. The 3rd generation of the RX100 is better than the previous 2, which is saying a lot. The integration of the pop-up viewfinder is just brilliant. In bright situations, it comes in incredibly handy. With full manual control, and even faster lens (1.8-2.8) and optical stabilization, this camera takes fantastic images and movies with its 1" sensor. If you care about your pictures, and don't want to trust you images to just your smart phone, this little gem is a must have companion. It is so small and compact, it fits into your pant pocket and the image quality rivals m4/3 and even APS-C cameras due to the ultra fast Zeiss lens. It's a bit pricy, but worth every penny. Aren't your memories worth it?

I've used the camera for about a week and so far there's nothing I don't like. I thought I would use the evf more often but its a little small so I use the screen more often. Definitely the best pocket-able camera out there.

This camera is amazing. If you want a compact camera that takes fantastic pictures, this is the one to get. Yes, it is pricey but the difference between this camera and my previous one (Panasonic TZ-50) is like night and day.

That being said, if you use it as a point and shoot in the automatic mode, it will still take better pix than any camera in its class. But it's gonna take some time to get the most out of its amazing potential...
