I could have purchased this on Amazon but it was the same price with a bonus. It is an incredibly sharp camera in terms of definition. The F1.8 lense is very fast, which allows great pictures without flash. Taking individual pictures of people I have been using sports mode which shoots 12 shots per second and one of them looks good. .

Lots of control, great lens. Way smaller than a DSLR

As they say, the best camera is the one you have with you. I sold my Canon DSLR with all my lens' because I just stopped using it. I got the Sony RX100 because I can carry it with me most of the time, either in a pocket of my cargo pants, or in a small camera bag or belly pack. I would have liked a bit more range in the zoom end, but I find with the excellent image detail that I can crop to the image area I'm interested in, with our loosing a lot of detail. The amount of customizing available meets my needs, and the Q quick function menu provides me with access to the settings I use most. Got the camera as an "open box" item at my local BestBuy, which made the price really attractive. Don't know that I would have paid the original asking price for this item, or would have opted for the Sony A6000 at the same price and would have had the option of swapping lens'. Overall, I am extremely happy with this item.

I think this camera offers the best image quality of any small camera at the moment. I Really love the pop-up SVGA OLED electronic viewfinder, easy to use if its hard to look at the LCD screen in direct sunlight.

This is much more than just a point and shoot camera as it has all options to break out into a manual or program mode plus all of the auto program modes. The lens will step open to 1.8 and the back lit sensor is very good. The tilt screen is a bonus and is very readable in bright light.

This camera is a powerhouse! I bought it as a gift for my uncle and he loves it. He used it to go on vacation and the pictures looked just like a professional took them.

We purchased this camera because our old Sony was starting to die. The difference in speed and picture quality is astounding! We bought this one for my husband to use, but now we're fighting over who gets to use it. The only downside seems to be that I can't seem to edit the pictures using Microsoft software.

The pictures and videos are sharp and true to color, also in low light. Not so good for moving objects unless choosing the sports program. Battery life is ok. Very easy to use.

Fantastic camera! I just took it on a nine day trip to China. It exceeded all my expectations. I love the fast lens, extra wide angle, fast start up time and pocketable size. It took incredible photos in the auto mode which is what I used most often. Highly recommended!

A small camera with a lot of power. Small enough to fit inside a purse, great quality pics, very easy to use, integrated flash, very good video quality.

This camera is wonderful. I wanted a camera with the convenience of a pocket camera, but would take great clear shots. I get spectacular shots of the sunrise and the colors are amazing. Night shots of the sky are vivid. It takes extremely sharp photos.

This feature packed camera is great when you don't want to bring your DSLR to events. Takes great photos even in low light. The remote operation from my cell phone was easy to sync. Sony put everything but the kitchen sink into a small, compact unit.

Great camera! Excellent to use if you need professional quality pictures and video. Also great video quality. I would recommend using a tripod for stabilization, but it's pretty good without it.

Wanted a compact pocketable camera. Decided on the RX100m3 because wife has A6000. Both cameras released within a month of each other. Menu in both cameras about 99.9% identical which makes it easy for both of us to use each others camera.

Great camera for beginners or intermediate photographers . Has options for a quick point and shoot or let’s you change settings to get more professional look to your photographs. Battery last a decent time, as expected.

Purchased this camera for a trip to the Alps. Wanted to take high quality pics for a travel blog but did not want to lug around our Nikon DSLR and lenses. Was very impressed with the quality of photos taken and the manual functionality. Plus as the camera is small and lightweight it was easy to pack while hiking each day. Definitely a solid choice!!

The side placement of the video output is more convenient. Features like the articulating LCD, wider angle lens, the ability to load a time lapse application, and the faster processor make it worthwhile to upgrade to the newer model.
