I'm a professional photographer. I've been shopping around for a replacement pocket camera for a while now and found this one. I want something that would work for concert photography. Something that venues would allow in when I can't bring in my professional big rigs. It's image quality is pretty good. They are sharp, good color correction right out of the box and fairly fast. The problems I have with this camera were that the low light images were not good. They were soft, pixelated and colors were off. Plus, the zoom just isn't there like the older models. It's a good camera for everyday shooting and vacations, but not for concert photography or night time shooting.

I've owned the first gen rx100 and have been very impressed with the images. No longer bringing my A7/6000/lenses on vacation anymore since I have to pack a cpap now. Found an open box of the mark 3 for $423 and used it for my recent vacation. Images are just as good as previous models and I like the articulating screen. The only thing I don't like is when you push back the view finder, the camera turns off. Overall, this is great alternative travel camera if you need to lighten things up.

Only had it for a short time but I love this camera so far. Great compact size and love full manual features. I got an excellent open box deal which certainly helps for such a steep priced point and shoot. Ditched a dslr that I never used because of bulk - this thing competes with quality but MUCH more practical for bringing out and about.

We purchased the Sony - Cyber-shot Rx100m Iii 20.1-megapixel Digital Camera a few months ago. We like traveling with it, for its small, lightweight size. The quality of the images and video are superb.

just started using- set up laborious-126 page manual--point and shoot/not so much. it looks like it will meet my needs. it costs to get features we wanted--pop up view finder, good battery life, wifi, etc

This is a little pricey for a point and shoot, but well worth the money if you can afford it. Excellent in low light and super portable for on the go.

I just got this camera and have not really had the chance to experience a full day with it. It is replacing a Panasonic Lumix that is 6 years old so I am making a huge leap forward in quality and features. I will report back when I have some time with the camera.

This is my third similar camera and while the picture quality is better, the zoom nowhere near the older models. I do like the screen that pulls out so you can get different angles

I own two Cyber-shot RX100M cameras, version I and III. We love them both. This is the best camera for those who want to have something that can be put in a small bag or coat pocket. It's very portable, but can take professional shots. What we love about version III over I is the tilt screen to take selfies. There's lots of price competition over cameras, but don't worry, just do a price match and pick this up at Best Buy. It's great to have a local story with in stock products and who can accept in person returns.

    A miss for me

This camera doesn't do anything for me. It's capable of high resolution, but figure on a tripod to make it happen in practice. In available light shooting the results were routinely beaten by a Canon S95. Color values and exposure varied greatly from shot to shot, even when trying to repeat a given shot. Bottom of camera is not flat, so can not be used to brace the camera against a solid surface such as a table. So, small enough that it's difficult to use, but not able to match a slightly larger camera such as an NEX5 in general use. Better to get something very small for casual use (I use the old S95 for this), and something better for serious use (Sony NEX, Fuji X-E2, etc.).

This is a great little camera that you will always want to have with you. Almost pocketable (if you're wearing cargo pants).Aside from that, It can do almost anything a bigger and heavier DSLR can do, except maybe long zoom pictures. You can choose your settings or take the easy way out and use Superior auto, which creates fantastic pictures. A biit pricey, but well worth it.

The camera is great! Nice picture quality. I would advise against using the play memories app to transfer pics as it will pixelate for whatever reason.
