I always used my phone to take pictures, but recently decided it was time to get a good camera. I'm very happy with my purchase so far. This camera takes excellent quality pictures and videos. I'm mad that I didn't purchase one sooner!

Awesome quality and ease of use. PLUS I get the joy of using my own aperture, etc., settings and NOT relying on what some "smart technology" determines is best for me.

I have owned a Sony Cyber Shot for many years. It was a great camera. Then i decided to upgrade to a newer Sony Cyber Shot, so i settled for the HX400V. The camera itself seems to be a nice camera. However, using the Sony software to connect to my home WIFI and/or to my Cell Phone is worse than awful. In fact, i was unable to get my first HX400 to connect, so i brought it back to Best Buy. They exchanged it with no questions asked. Now I am trying to establish a connection with the replacement camera and still no luck. First, a Sony account is required to make any of these features work. So i set up an account with my first HX400. Now i cannot log on. So i reset my password and i get an error message "....try again later". Sony makes a great camera. But unfortunately, their software peripherals really suck. So if you're planning on using this camera to connect to your home WIFI or your cell phone, good luck. And good luck finding contact information for tech support.

I don’t need anything super extensive on a camera. It has good battery life and the video mood doesn’t drain the battery like several others that I have used.

It's a Sony...quality is expected. Good pictures. A little slow between shots. Fills a whole in my camera collection.

Used this camera for an international trip. Very happy with the photos and took many videos. Quality and detail on photos is quite good.

I was rather worried about buying a camera online but I couldn't be happier! It was a deal for the quality and easy to use since I have never used an actual camera. 10/10 would buy again.

We have used this camera several times while out bird watching. It is a nice weight, zooms very close and has already taken some great bird photos.

This is a very nice bridge camera. It takes great photos. The lens is the selling point. A Ziess lens which is very sharp. My only complaint is the viewfinder-it is not very clear but the screen on the back is. Ither than that a nice camera.

We bought this camera for our business. I love it! It takes great pictures. Only downside is, it’s a little complex to operate.

Unless you're a professional there are few reasons to carry around a bunch of heavy lenses and camera bodies. The Sony DSC-HX400 with its 50x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom will cover most picture-taking needs in one tidy package. The 20.4 megapixel sensor and Zeiss lens combine to give crisp pictures and full HD movies. The WiFi transfer is nice if a bit clunky and I added a glass screen protector to the LCD which rotates, but does not fold away when the camera is stored. It's easy to use with enough capacity for the most advanced layman photographer.

bought this camera for a safari trip - good zoom for taking pictures of the animals - still trying to find out how the speaker works - like the fact that use of view finder is automatic when you place to your eye

I call this a smart camera because it processes each picture that you take. It gives excellent results, most of the time. Depending on the lighting conditions, there could be a longer delay in taking your next shot.

This Sony camera is awesome! Similar to a DSLR without changing lenses. it has a great zoom, connects seamlessly to my Ipad, and takes Beautiful pics!

The HX400 was better than I expected it would be. It takes excellant shots even at the long zoom and maintains a good resoolution throughout the range.

A little heavy for extended use but otherwise very reliable

This camera takes good pictures. I purchased The camera for our trip to Disney World and was surprised out how clear and vibrant the pictures came out. The camera zooms in well. I am very happy with my purchase.
