All you really need are the buttons on top of the unit. It's a pretty sturdy player for the price, and having the regular composite audio outputs is exactly what we needed. I would recommend this for music, but have no idea how well it works on DVD's.

No HDMI connection, but did not matter, as the RCA cable provided works fine. Wish it had a "power on" light indicator on the front so I could confirm that I turned it off, but not a problem.
