It is a simple device that works well. We are using it unconventionally as it is generally used with a TV monitor and we are using it with an old receiver to play CD's. The only problem with this is that we cannot see the tracks on a digital screen, so when searching for a particular track, we have to count.

I needed a good, basic CD/DVD player for an auxiliary stereo system (i.e., a basic amp/speakers setup apart from the home entertainment center). I wanted top-quality sound, but no "bells and whistles." This little Sony unit is perfect. It generates a great sound through my high-end components, at an amazingly low price.

Sony makes an excellent product... Their DVD players are no exception...

I only tried this out to play cds, which is why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5. Bought it to have, in case my cd changer goes out. Hooked it up to the stereo speakers and receiver and it works great. Didn't need an expensive player.

This Sony DVD was so reasonably priced as it is meant to be used with an analog TV. We have an older Sony TV that still works great so we wanted to dedicate it to watching DVD movies but we didn't want to spend much $ to be able to do this. An Best Buy had the right player at the right price. It was easy to connect to the TV and easy to use.

Easy to use and I love the sleek design. Only thing I don’t like is how hard it is to pick the buttons on the player, but it’s not too bothersome and plus the remote works perfectly.

Product has great value and the set up is very easy.

It is good. However, the response time for turning it on, opening the disc slot, getting it to play, takes longer than it should. I had the old model for 10 years and it was much faster. Do like the sleek design.

Sony always puts out a great product and this DVD PLAYER is right up to SONY'S RELIABLE products standard. For the price you can't go wrong. It delivers just the way the instructions explain. I am totally happy with this purchase.

This is the second one of these we have purchased. The previous one we had started not to work after about 7 or 8 years. The new one works well and does everything we want it to. Would recommend.
