It is very basic and works just fine. Highly recommend if you just need to watch a basic DVD. Also, nice size and looks great! Super easy to use!

The sound from DVD player is not quite as loud as we would like compared to our normal TV. Have to turn the volume up to hear everything. Picture is good quality. This player is not HDMI and uses the 3 wire analog system - 2 for sound and 1 for video output to the TV

The Sony comes with its own DAC too, so you can directly input the audio to your amp/rec. For the price it is very basic in display, there isn't one! No LED/LCD read out of any kind indicating track/time/or if it even playing. For the price I am fine with the lack or a display. 4 stars only because of the complete lack of display info on this unit, but 5 stars for sound and interconnect ability. Such a rare option of SPDI for this low price.

I use it to play CDs and works as expected. It is very slow moving between functions which is why I give it only 4 stars.

Posted .Hi Joel, we are glad to hear that you are enjoying the product while playing your CD's, this unit allows to play multiple types of DVD and CD formats like DVD, DVD+RW/+R/+R DL, DVD-RW/-R/-R DL, Music CD/Super VCD and CD-R/-RW for a wide variety of content that you can enjoy. Also regarding the unit being slow we can recommend trying to perform a power cycle by simply unplugging the unit from the power for 2 min and then plug it back in. If that does not help there is also an option to reset it, you can go to Setup > Reset > returns the settings to the default settings, we really hope this helps to maximize your experience and get the best out of the product. Perfect solution for my older tv

I was not able to acquire a Blue Ray/DVD player due to the age of my older tv. The DVD player I purchased was the perfect solution and works great. The sales person was very knowledgeable and did an excellent job in helping me choose the right DVD player.

Thus, the DVD player was excellent for a brief time for my previous TV, but now I hope there's an adapter available.

makes a great CD player

It makes a really good sounding CD player . it is compact so it sits on top of my speaker . cant beat it for the price .
