This unit does not have the problems of playing home-made DVDs that the older units have had. Had read DVD+RW and DVD-RW with no problems. Also does a good job with CD Video (VCD Format) as well.

Even if this one ends up doing the same things after three or four years, at this price, it is still worth purchasing.
