Claims to have Progressive Scan; but any slight (and I mean slight!) blemish on the DVD led to this thing immediately freezing up and refusing to play at all, requiring a restart just to eject the disc. To ensure there's no misunderstanding about the slightness of the blemishes here: The DVDs were bought new and watched a maximum of 3-4 times (not rentals or former rentals)... And when visually inspected, it required a thorough hunt just to find the pathetically small surface scratch which was causing the problem!... As in, no deep gouges/scratches and no scratches in multitude or any significant number... Usually, just one, tiny, minuscule, seemingly insignificant surface scratch -- Yet this piece of crap not only couldn't read past it and continue playing; but couldn't even find it's way past the fault through manual searching (i.e., trying to play the next or any latter available episode contained on the disc)! Absolute Garbage -- Returned Immediately. [Oh, and the push-buttons on the unit itself are EXTREMELY hard to push -- you have to grip it from underneath when trying to push any of them, just to ensure it registers the fact that you are pushing the frikkin' button!]

Good DVD player. It is a little bit on the high side as far as price seeing how there are no HDMI plug ins.

This product began to experience random failures after a couple months of very little use. Had to keep trying to get it to play. Now, it just spins and then cuts off. SONY was known for manufacturing quality products and that's why I originally made the purchase. Now, it needs a repair. Sadly, electronic equipment is not manufactured like in the past. We could purchase a product and it would last over 25 years. Lower quality is designed into products now - thus failing sooner, and we pay more for the products. A good name is worth more than rubies.

It's the cheapest DVD player available at the time. It did not come with hdmi output only rca's. So picture quality is not good at all on my 4K tv

Perfect for classroom use - this multi-format unit will get much use in my classroom for many years.

not pleased with this purchase. Limited to the DVD's that will play in this machine. It actually still sits in its box

We found what we were looking for but our sales person had no clue about what additional items we needed

I have lots of DVDs still and needed a good player with the up/down forward and back buttons for some of my training DVDs and exercise DVDs. This does the trick.

It took a little more time to hook this up. But we got it.

Works fine. Set up easy. Only problem is won't play some older DVD's I have. It won't play some DVD videos I've created either.

I was very excited to get my 65” TV for 1300.00 dollars. Had I purchased today i would pay 499.00. Not a good feeling and I blame my judgement bor your pricing policy.

We have an old television we both love, it is a big floor model with a 50 inch screen. I originally bought a 4k blu ray and had to take it back because it is not compatible with the television.

Works flawlessly. I have never had jam or loss of read. Very sensitive to the controller with rapid response to commands.

I just needed a simple player for my daughters room. This one works great and is simple and easy to use.

I was a little suspicious when this player was so inexpensive, however, since it was for a spare room I decided to buy it. It works great, was easy to setup and I’ve had no problems!
