I'm sure the device itself is fine. The set up was WAY too time consuming, only to find I don't have a picture and still haven't been able to use the player.

Good inexpensive DVD player while it lasts

At $35 regularly, we got this in 2012; with reward certificates it cost us under $20. We used it in our bedroom; to be fair, I think we gave this little thing a good workout. We played DVDs nightly (usually fell asleep) and it would often be powered on all night even if the tv had shut itself off. Did notice a "humming" sound the first week we had it installed; discovered a cord was loose. It has been a great player but as of this week it suddenly "Cannot play this disc" on any of our dvds. From what I've learned via the web, the laser is likely burned out. Will be shopping for a replacement but again, for price and usage frequency, I think the little guy earned it's retirement.

Then the remote broke... all of this at the one month from purchase date. Will be returning.

The old DVD player doesn't play the new movie DVDs. The new technology does not work for long and it is disgusting. Tech products should be easier to hook-up and use.
