Bought it to have, in case my cd changer goes out. Hooked it up to the stereo speakers and receiver and it works great. Didn't need an expensive player.

However, the response time for turning it on, opening the disc slot, getting it to play, takes longer than it should. I had the old model for 10 years and it was much faster. Do like the sleek design.

For the price you can't go wrong. It delivers just the way the instructions explain. I am totally happy with this purchase.

The set up was easy. It is nice and compact in size. I have noticed some background noise/static when the DVD's are playing but I am not sure if it is the DVD player or because the DVD's are about 2 years old?

On the downside the control buttons on the unit don't have a feel as good as other Sony products I have or have had but the remote is fine.
