This lens is perfect for action shots. Also the wide range of the zoom allows for me to carry lens with me on the go. Highly recommended for those who wanna use this for videos.

The 18-105 is a very versatile lens especially for videographers. The constant f4 aperture and internal zoom mechanism make this a great lens alone. Now yes they're are faster zooms on the market now that are sharper (and then there's primes that just destroy this) but there is an argument to be made here since this is much cheaper then most of the alternatives and it since the zoom is internal instead of an extended barrell, you get power zoom! If you can find a good deal on this then definitely consider it.

Much better than the kit zoom lens. Super sharp. Many people go with the 210mm Sony kit zoom but what makes this 105mm lens better is the constant F4; it makes a huge difference. Spend the extra few dollars and you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend it.

I use this lens almost all the time. It's my go-to when I'm unsure of what I'll be shooting and it performs admirably. I have no issues with the clarity of the images as I'm primarily doing post processing and pretty much all photo editors have distortion correction for this lens. It's plenty fast at zooming and it's buttery smooth. Very silent as well. Compared to my 50mm f.1.4, it's almost as sharp, but it's definitely not as fast a lens being only f.4, but it is fixed so in most of the lighting situations, I find it quite fast; and even while zooming, the overall brightness of the scene is not affected and I can just keep shooting. Even if some people may complain that power zooming is "slow", I find I can zoom and shoot much faster than I would be able to with another zoom lens. For everything it offers, it's worth the (Sony) price. Get it, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

We all know Sony has great sensors and glass... this lens is no exception to the clean glass and the added auto zoom feature just tops it off for those looking to automate that function from capable cameras. Very light weight also so a bonus to keep the rig light and keep the front from becoming too heavy for things like gimbals!

This lens is sharp, zooming is smooth and it’s easy to use. It has a constant f.4 aperture and the bokeh is pretty smooth. I am new at photography and I found this lens fairly easy to use. This lens is a nice lens to replace the 16-50mm kit lens.

Other than extreme telephoto, this lens has the ability to shoot what you need, whether close or far. You typically won’t get as much bokeh as with an f/1.8 lens, but that’s not why I use this lens...the ability to shoot wide and zoom in is often more valuable. Picture quality straight out of the camera (jpg) is good.

Great lens. Love the quality for the price. The full frame would be better but it's more expensive. This lens definitely gets the job done.

I bought this to take on vacation so I wouldn't have to fly with a lot of gear and it was great for everything from landscapes to portraits so very versatile lens. I needed something better than the kit lens which covered a larger range and better image quality than the kit and this lens was up to those tasks.

This is a great lens for beginners and professionals. The f4 aperture is slightly limiting, but it captures a nice crisp image, and is fairly light. I also love the fixed barrel, because I shoot mainly video on a gimbal, and the fixed barrel allows me to zoom in without having to rebalance. So nice!

I recently started doing videography full time and this lens is the best piece of camera equipment I have purchased for my Sony a6300. Its can go from wide open to mid range without having to carry around extra lens. Its a great al around lens and I am completely happy with my purchase.

I bought this lens to replace the 18-55mm Kit lens that came with my camera. It’s offers a great focal range and can stay at f/4 even when zoomed in all the way. The optical steady shot is also a great feature if you plan on shooting handheld most of the time.

This lens amazing. I love it. It takes the most beautiful pictures. I love the constant f4. It makes my pictures look better than my skill. I have many other lenses and this one is the most impressive. I bought it open box and it came brand new. Totally pleased with this purchase.

It really is a great lens. Just a great center balance of what is needed to shoot some amazing photos with any Sony camera.

This is a great power zoom lens if you have a Sony E-mount camera and would like to record video. If you are a photographer, save your money and get a lens that doesn't have power zoom...you don't need that. You can get better optics, wider apertures and better prices on lenses that don't have power zoom. But, if you are wanting to do any kind of video, then this is the lens for you without spending a fortune. It is the kit lens for the FS5 which is a great documentary camera, and the addition of power zoom makes it even more functional. The power zoom is variable speed so you aren't locked in to fixed speed zooms. It would be nice to have an f/2.8 aperture, but f/4 still gives you a great picture with good depth of field.

It’s a great lens if you have a crop sensor. Good for shooting wide and gives you bokeh if you zoom in so don’t worry about it being f4. I used it for a photoshoot and the images came out good

I waited along time to get this. I figured I owed myself something for Christmas, enough about that. This is one sweet lense. You can cover about anything you run up against on a day out around town. Smooth clear and quiet. Expensive but worth it.

Purchased this for video, but like the photos it takes. It is much lighter than one would expect. Only negative was how long it took to arrive and the inability of Best Buy customer service to eve answer their phone.
