Junk the Kit lens that comes with the A6500. For anyone new to the sony family. Grab yourself a A6XXX body and do yourself a favor and get this lens! Simple a Joy to use. Def a clutch when paired with a gimbal

It's a great walk around lens with the 18-105mm range and it's sharp enough at constant f/4. However, if you're using a mirrorless SONY camera for its portability and small size factor, having this lens mounted on your camera may defeat that purpose. If you're taking a lot of videos with your A6000, etc., this would work great, since the zoom is smooth and the reach is nice.

I have this lens with a Sony a6500 and it's been fantastic. the power zoom makes for nice, smooth zooms and the image is sharp. 18-105 is a great range and the quality is well made.

I have had my camera for about a year. I wanted a lens that will expand the use of my camera. This lens hit the spot. Using it for school performances has been easy. I no longer need to change lenses in the middle of a show.

Overall, great lens. Was able to get an open-box in excellent condition which cut the price down dramatically. Would definitely recommend tracking to see if there are open-box options for any lens.

This has been a definite upgrade from my kit lens. The constant F4 aperture has given better pics in lower light. Good for mid range or intermediate shots, but will need to buy a 2-300mm zoom for distance shots

This lens offers excellent image quality and a great focal length range. It is a bit big, but not objectionably so. It is nice to not have a variable wide open f stop...actually, it’s more than nice. F4 is not the fastest lens around and some might want a wider aperature to increase their bokeh, but I find this lens to be great for portraits and a variety of other shots as it is, especially a it’s longer focal length. It is a good value for its price.

This lens has allowed me to get more beautiful content with my A6500. The power zoom is ultra smooth and goes very slow when you need it, or ultra fast. I rarely take this lens off. Highly recommended for video

This is a very versatile lens. I bought it for a recent trip to Hawaii, and used it for just about everything. When taking photos at 18mm the corners become soft and lightly distorted, but can be mostly corrected in Lightroom. Colors and sharpness are much better than the stock kit lenses, I would recommend this over the kit pancake and zoom lenses.
