I recently got my hands on the Sony EXTRA BASS Compact Portable Bluetooth Speaker, and it has exceeded my expectations. This speaker was loud and good when I first got it then all of a sudden it just started getting lower and lower. What I don’t appreciate is I took the speaker back and they said I had to get the same kind of speaker and they said it would come in mail. But they sent me the same stupid speaker that went out it’s not loud it breaks up it sucks. I’m done and I will not spend another penny in Best Buy I haven’t had this speaker 2 months it was $50 These are hard times and they just ruined my customer satisfaction from them.

Nice little speaker. It's is good enough for my small room. If you have big room, I recommend buying more expensive speaker

Sony - XB13 EXTRA BASS Compact BLUETOOTH waterproof/dustproof speaker was tested for over 5 days. This little compact speaker can fit in the cupholder of your car, be placed in a small or midsize room. To connect the Bluetooth you turn on your wifi on your cellphone, press the Sony on button, then select the pairing button. It took less than 5 seconds for my cellphone to recognize the Sony speaker and the speaker connected quickly. The volume was pretty good for a small Bluetooth. As you can see it fits in the palm of my hand. I watched movies, listened to songs, and podcasts. While watching or listening to your song or video of choice, you can pause, fast forward, and play by pressing the buttons on the Sony Bluetooth. I even walked away from my cellphone while holding the speaker to see how far I could go. I was able to go from my living room all the way to the bedroom. This speaker can be paired with additional speakers or used alone. There is a cap that covers the port to charge the battery. This helps to prevent dust from damaging the Bluetooth. The battery life on the Sony Speaker can last for at least 16 hours, depending upon the use of the Bluetooth. Not bad at all. PROS: Small Good sound for the size Pairs fasts Battery Life CONS: None I can think of at the moment.

Having already been familiar with the Sony Extra Bass Bluetooth Speakers I expected great sound quality but I was surprised by how great this one sounded considering it’s extremely compact size. I’m not an audiophile so I base what sounds good simply by ear versus focusing on a lot of technical stats (which I’m sure will be discussed in multiple reviews). Ultimately this speaker will satisfy most users needs. Battery life has been excellent for me so this will definitely hold up well for a long day at the beach or wherever you need it to without needing to charge it up again. Pairing is simple and quick (no complicated series to pair). Only negative I’ve ever had with these type speakers from Sony is the super short charging cable provided but it’s simple to rectify if you have a longer USB to USB-C cable available.

I bought utit for my sister, but she said the sound quality was not as much as good she thought. But okay .

Got myself a pair of these to replace my pair of the previous model, the XB12. While the XB13 is definitely an improvement over the previous model, there's a couple issues I have with this newer model. Firstly, the XB12's straps had a rubber ring on them which also served as a stand so you could prop them up on their sides like actual stereo speakers on your desk or table. The XB13 trashed these in favor of the thicker strap, which means that you have to find somewhere to hang these in order to achieve the same effect. Secondly, whenever I charge one of the speakers, every so often it has a tendency to completely reset the stereo pairing and volume for both speakers, which is more annoying than anything else, having to constantly re-pair the speakers and all. Other than that, they sound just as good, if not better than the previous model.

The Sony EXTRA BASS compact portable Bluetooth speaker, the sound is very good, the different colors, the bass, although the XB13 is definitely an improvement over previous times, the battery lasts a long time, the sound is undoubtedly one of the best for its version XB13 I really enjoyed the simple yet aesthetic design of the XB13. The material used on the outside is soft to the touch and, in general, it seems that it will last with everything that happens to it, water resistant, and the Bluetooth range is 33 feet and the response frequency is good at up to 20 hertz

Do not let the size of the Sony SRS-SB13 fool you, this waterproof, dustproof and UV protected speaker may be small, but it has big sound. I was amazed by how much this little thing can fill up my garage with sound. Sony has some magic inside this thing for sure. Battery life is a big thing for me, and this also delivers big time. Sony says expect 16 hours, I was getting around 20+ hours though. Charging took less than 3 hours when I ran it all the way down to zero. Sony says it takes 4.5 hours to charge though. There is a charge light on it that will come on when it gets around 10% and my android phone (Note 10+) displayed that it only had 10% left on a dropdown notification. Sony includes a noticeably short USB Type C cable and not power brick, however, most modern computers have power USB ports that you can use to charge, or you can use a power brick from your cell phone as well. I like that Sony is cutting back on stuff like that, still be aware of that fact. I do not see a way to connect this to the Sony music app with my other SRS Bluetooth speakers. There is a microphone that this has as well and you can use this for speaker phone calls, and it worked well. However, you can set up a second one of these and set up stereo sound, I was not able to test out this feature though. Also, this speaker has a carrying strap that you can attach it to various things, I have used this in the shower hanging on a shower head and it worked out well. Sony keeps making these things better and better and this is one of the best little speakers that they have made so far.

I have been using the SRS-XB13 to listen to classical music and podcasts in my home office, walking around my house, and while out in my yard gardening. (I am not attending any gatherings on the beach or around a grill in this still COVID-affected world.) I am not a serious audiophile, so I won’t try to discuss the SRS-XB13’s sound specifications and capabilities. Frankly, I don’t look for high technical quality in an inexpensive, highly portable speaker. I will just say that its sound quality is very good, despite the lack of any stereo separation. And, when it’s 10 feet away on a separate table, the bass notes still cause my work desk to vibrate. The one big drawback with the SRS-XB13 is charging it. It does not charge wirelessly, and it comes with a VERY short USB-C cable – less than 12” long. The cable is so short that I had a hard time finding an outlet in my house that was low enough to the floor or a countertop that I didn’t have to set the SRS-XB13 on something to keep from having it dangle in the air. There also was no power adapter, so I had to scrounge around in my stash of old adapters to hook it up. (Could I charge it from my desktop computer? No. The ports on my computer are otherwise occupied.) The only suitable outlet I found is in one of my bathrooms, very close to a sink – hardly an ideal situation. (See photo attached.) After charging the SRS-XB13 (for 4+ hours), setup was quick and easy. I have not bought a second speaker, so I can’t try pairing it with another one. I also have not tested out the length of battery life beyond using it several days in a row before recharging it. I do enjoy using the SRS-XB13, but I would enjoy it a lot more if it had a longer charging cord and its own power adapter.

Overral this speaker is very crisp and the bass levels are very good for it’s size but the volume is so very low on this speaker. I’m a sony fanboy and have many of their speakers they did a good job with this i love the form factor and the size of it as well as the long battery life but again the volume is very low… I’m willing to bet that my iPhone speakers are louder, not kidding! It’s a nice speaker, but it is definitely not worth $60 maybe $25-$30. There are much better options that get louder for that price. Keep this review in mind and shop around before you splurge and buy it, I expected better from Sony…

This small speaker is unbelievable! I purchased this for my son's PC tower and he loves it so much that he enjoys taking it around with him. It's a small footprint that has and amazing sound and the bass kicks. What he loves is the how easy it is for him to pair with all of his devices and that it brings a strap to carry it around. I highly recommend this item to those who want a simple solution without having a cluttered speaker system on your desk and need portability.

I'm Loving it!! I wanted a small, easy speaker for my bedroom or to travel with so I wouldn't have to listen to music or whatever on my phone or tablet speakers. I've ruined phone speakers in the past, not to mention a phone speaker really isn't great for volume. I also use ear buds but sometimes want a break or listen while falling asleep or while in the tub and ear buds just aren't always the best fit. This little speaker is perfect for all those reasons. Easy to connect, reasonable battery life and surprisingly good sound quality! I have noticed that when I use it on a shelf it sounds better if I put a small pad under it to lessen vibration, no problem at all! If you're looking for truly Superior sound quality perhaps get 2 for a better stereo experience but it actually DOES have nice sound all on it's own. And with it's water/dust protection, size, battery life, wrist strap, ease of use, good price PLUS good sound that makes it a 5 star purchase in my book!! I love it!!

This is a nice small speaker and works even better when paired with a second one. The sound is good and bass is impressive for being so small. Nice to take outside around the pool.

Really convenient for smaller spaces, the audio is very crisp and the bass is great. The price is really affordable considering the quality and durability. I’d say get it if you need a nice portable speaker, or one to just have for your room. I like to listen to nature sounds for white noise when I’m about to sleep and this speaker does the job very well :)

I’ve been looking for a speaker like this for the better part of 2 years. My asks we’re pretty simple. I wanted a small water resistant speaker with good sound that charges via USB-C. You’d think that wouldn’t be too much to ask, but nothing I’ve found so far has checked all those boxes. Until now. These speakers sound great, are the perfect size, charge via USB-C, and come in some really classy colors. All for a very reasonable price compared to their competition. Additionally, I have owned the previous version of this exact speaker for years and I’m happy to report that while this one is a little bigger overall, the new strap it comes with is awesome, it feels way higher quality, and it sounds MUCH better. Way more clear and the bass still kicks without being as muddy as the old one. They perfected it with this model. Get one.

It’s so small but so loud and bassy!!! I would recommend this if you’re looking for a small portable speaker with good audio!!! I got 2 of them!:)
