Firstly want to start off by saying it is very durable for its size and has lasted quite some time even being in my garage. Sound quality is superb with a solid battery length on one charge. The range of the Bluetooth connection is very good can walk around my yard with my phone in my pocket and not the lose signal. Only issue I’ve had is sometimes when it’s connected to my laptop the sound cuts out but that is probably an issue with the laptop and not the speaker itself so no points taken off there. Overall highly satisfied and would recommend to anyone looking for a high quality compact speaker.

I've already got the X12 and love it, and this is the updated version. Compact little speaker packs a good punch for it's size. (see soup can pic for reference) I've thrown it into the kids bathtub and still works great. Its perfect for cup holders, so if you're into boating/kayaking/etc where you want music to be secure and its ok to get wet, then this kind of speaker is for you. The strap is quite strong and versatile so you can mount it off most things with confidence that you won't lose it. I personally put it in my kayak cup holder and then have the strap around a loop on the boat so if i were to capsize i won't lose it. Battery life is really great and phone range is quite good. I've put my phone on the table, and tossed the speaker onto my lawnmower and took it all over the yard without issue. Easy to pair to the phone, and if you've got 2 of them you can link them together to have stereo sound. Unfortunately, while they seem basically the same, you cannot link it to the x12 or other similar Sony speakers. I don't understand why this is, because the only real change i can tell between the X12 and X13 is it went from micro USB connector to USB-C. So if you've already got the older one, don't really need to upgrade and you are better off getting another of the same one, so you can go into stereo mode. That being said, if you do not have one already, pick up a couple of these because with phones and more devices going USB C these days, you can reduce the amount of cables you need to carry around

Needed a small portable speaker for work. Sound is amazing(many ppl comment about it as theyre surprised) . Connectivity is super fast and battery has lasted all day. Carry strap is extremely beneficial, without a closing clasp that many have i thiught it would come off easily but not the case at all! Overall very convienant device, and esthetically pleasing.

I use this all the time while I'm taking a shower. It's plenty loud and is water resistant so the shower mist doesn't harm it. I wouldn't get soap on it though. Get two! They pair together as stereo speakers and it works awesome.

I’ve used this speaker for about a month now and I really like it. It is loud and the bass surpassed my expectations. The size of it is really nice too, it is about the size of a can of Campbell’s soup and it fits in the cup holder of my bicycle. The strap on its side can come in handy for when you want to swing it at a wild animal coming at you in the woods. The speaker feels solid and well made, enough to withstand a strong impact. The $50 price tag is a bit much, but if you can find it on sale for about $40 or $35 it is a definite buy.

I bought these as I was looking for a small portable speaker with good bass that was reasonably priced. This speaker by itself sounds very good, but what sold me was the fact that if I bought two of them they can be in stereo! And once I paired them with my phone the sound was amazing! So much better than any other single Bluetooth speaker I have heard before. So if you like good bass and enjoy your music in stereo, these are a great value.

Sound is great (for it's little size). Buttons are very basic and accessible. Unit is cool looking as well. It's durable, supposedly waterproof, and so small you could stuff it in your purse or small backpack. My only complaint is that there seems a design flaw. The bass ability exceeds the size of the stereo. So unless the unit sits on a floor it will vibrate around and actually move across the shelf! And the sound becomes distorted as well. Put it on the floor and enjoy the impressive sound quality.

For such a small speaker, it really puts out the sound! Just try to put it in a place where it won't fall, as it has a tendency to 'walk' around whatever you put it on, it really kicks out the bass. The sound is a little thin/muddy, but I think they favored the bass, and high end, so the mid-range is there, but seems a little thin. Still a very good small speaker (I have 2). Recommended. The strap is very helpful. Don't count this little guy out.

Set up was easy. Long battery life, lasted all day while working in garage. Sound quality on par with Sony. Maybe I expected too much, but it’s not very loud. Great for your personal space, not so much on other side of garage, I could still hear it, of course, became more of a background sound. Still, I'm happy with it. Able to wifi approx 25ft from source device, may work farther, had no loss of signal or sound quality.

I've had this for a few months now and it has been great. We've used it outside on a patio for music, inside while cooking/eating dinner, and at night with background rain sleep aid loops. It has sounded great for all uses and is so easy to move around. It has paired with our iPhones flawlessly. The strap that came with it has been handy.

Very good Sound, Low price, Reliable, and tough enough to take to work!. I have gotten 3 of these bad boys so far, they fit great in a cup holder and fill my truck cab with clear loud music. I got 3 thinking i would be replacing them soon due to my rough treatment, But so far the 1st one is taking abuse but still going!.

This was purchased as a Christmas present for to go with a record player. It has a good overall sound and good amount of bass for the price. Also doesn’t take up much space in a room. You can spend a lot more and get something louder but this one has more than enough sound to drive the people in the next room crazy and tell you to turn it down. I bought this as a present and now I want one for myself.

Pretty good handheld speaker took it to the beach. It was not too loud but you can hear the bass. Very good product. I'll take it everywhere I go now. I just leave it in my to-go bag and sometime I forget it's even there. I don't have to worry about it being too bulky or anything like that.

Excellent sound quality! For such a small speaker it has killer base. Blows the competing small speakers out of the water. I also accidentally dropped it from about 6 feet onto hard ground yesterday and it still functions great. Havent charged it in a month and it still says 100% battery.

This Sony EXTRA BASS speaker is indeed waterproof. My speaker was submerged underwater for sometime and came out working perfectly. Excellent battery life. The bass is also "extra" for those that like to "pump up" the jams. Great purchase; would recommend this inexpensive item.

Good sounds quality for a small speaker. Used during chores when earbuds are charging. Only con is sound can be too soft for talk shows, but music is good. Keeps a charge for days.

Great sound quality without having to sacrifice a decent battery life. This plus the bass boost was a big selling point for me. When turned way up the quality keeps. When on a lower volume the sound still cuts through so you can carry a conversation while still enjoying the music. The strap is very useful when using it on the go. Looking forward to purchasing a 2nd unit for the stereo sound feature.

I like this small speaker. The bass is good. I bought this to listen to my music while I work. I tried to use it for phone calls but I can't hear the other caller even if I cut the volume up. Thats the reason why I give it 4 stars other than that it looks good premium compact.

This little speaker gets only four stars, not because there's anything wrong with it, there isn't, but because its use is limited to near field only. This little speaker does everything we ask of it without drama or tricky pairing rituals. My wife uses it to accompany her on line workouts, and it does the job quite well, has a small footprint, and is light as a feather. We also use it occasionally to bring sound to our recorded books. The sound is full enough to satisfy, and not at all like an old fashioned transistor radio. The one drawback I can see for our use is that it does not provide enough volume for TV watching. We bring a portable speaker with us when we travel, and like to watch a movie in the evening in our room or rental. While it pairs up easily and sounds nice, there isn't quite enough punch for satisfying listening. This is not what this speaker is for. It's for small spaces and near use. Use it for that, and you will be delighted with the full a crisp sound.
