I picked this lens to extend the range of my Sony A7M2 camera. I picked it in particular for its two extremes as it allows me to take my camera out for a shooting day without losing any shot due to not having the right focal distance. 24-240mm is a very flexible range, I do not miss the extra zoom I could have with the 70-300mm as I like to shoot all kinds of shoots in the same day. I also use it in my A6400 and the extra zoom due to crop factor is fantastic. If you make peace with the idea of carrying a heavier lens, you'll be very pleased with the versatility it affords. If you are a photography enthusiast you'll be very happy with the results. I usually get very sharp pictures with it in auto mode, and Sony cameras make it very easy to switch to manual focus for more challenging compositions. At its price point this is a great lens when your budget cannot reach other zoom lenses. It allows me to take pictures that I had to take with a point and shoot cheaper zoom camera giving me the extra quality of APS-C and full-frame sensors. Weight may be an issue, this lens does not have a place to screw it to a tripod so you'll need a sturdy one to use your camera if you want to use one. But if you want quality pictures and you have spent in a good full-frame or APS-C camera and the lens itself it shouldn't be a big deal to invest in a quality tripod.

This lens is great if you want only one lens. The range of the lens basically will cover what you might generally need. Highly recommended!

A must have in my opinion. Saves me from having to switch lenses all the time. I’ve used for single photo shoots and weddings. Love it

I was using this on my a6000. It was good with bright light but keep searching focus. I ended up returning the lens.

Love using this zoom lens for wide shots and shots from far away. Love. Not having to change lenses as often. Also love the metallic construction.

We wanted to purchase just 1 lens that we thought would be good as a multipurpose lens and we are very pleased with this one. We then thought about buying additional lens', but this one takes care of us, we don't need to spend more money on a 2nd lens. This isn't too heavy.

The lens performs admirably. Pictures are a bit soft but usable at 240 mm. The package is well worth the money and the lens lives up to expectation.
